WELDING JOINING METHOD AND WELDING JOINED BODY
Provided is a welding joining method for joining end portions of first and second pipes made of polyamide resin by bonding the end portions to each other by pressure in a molten state. The welding joining method includes: a placing step of placing an infrared radiation lamp between the first and second pipes placed to face each other at an interval; a heating and melting step of heating and melting the end portions of the first and second pipes by emitting infrared; and a pressure bonding step of cooling down the molten end portions in a state where the molten end portions are bonded to each other by pressure.

A METHOD FOR FORMING A TUBE AND A METHOD AND AP ACKAGING MACHINE FOR FORMING A PACKAGE
There is described a method for forming a tube (3) of a web (4, 4) of packaging material comprising the steps of advancing the web (4) of packaging material along a web advancement path (P), overlapping a first lateral edge (19) of the web (4, 4′) of packaging material with a second lateral edge (20) of the web (4, 4) of packaging material for obtaining a longitudinal seam portion of the tube (3) and fusing at least an internal outer surface (34) of the first lateral edge (19) and an external outer surface (37) of the second lateral edge (20) with one another for longitudinally sealing the seam portion of the tube (3). The step of fusing comprises at least the substeps of directly heating the external outer surface (37) of the second lateral edge (20) and heating by contact the internal outer surface (34) by establishing contact between the internal outer surface (34) and the directly heated external outer surface (37).
Methods of producing thermoplastic composites using fabric-based thermoplastic prepregs
A thermoplastic product includes a fabric-based reinforcing sheet and a polymerized thermoplastic material. The fabric-based reinforcing sheet is wound about a mandrel to form a plurality of layers having a cross-sectional shape that corresponds to the mandrel. The fabric-based reinforcing sheet includes a plurality of fiber bundles, which may have a bidirectional orientation or configuration. A polymerized thermoplastic material is disposed within each layer of the fabric-based reinforcing sheet. The polymerized thermoplastic material bonds each layer of the fabric-based reinforcing sheet to an adjacent layer.
Device and method for joining a lens to a housing of a lighting device of a motor vehicle
A device for joining a lens to a housing of a lighting device of a motor vehicle, having a receptacle device for accommodating and securing the housing, a pre-centering device for aligning and clamping the lens on the housing during an alignment procedure, and having a holding device for accommodating the lens after the alignment procedure and for holding the lens during an adjustment process, wherein the holding device is releasably attached to the pre-centering device by fastening elements during the alignment operation, and wherein the pre-centering device, together with the accommodated lens and the holding device attached to the pre-centering device is movable relative to the receptacle device during the alignment procedure such that the lens and the holding device can be aligned on the housing accommodated in the receptacle device.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR JOINING A LENS TO A HOUSING OF A LIGHTING DEVICE OF A MOTOR VEHICLE
A method for joining a lens to a housing of a lighting device of a motor vehicle, in which the housing is accommodated and secured in a receptacle device. The method includes accommodating the lens in a pre-centering device, aligning the lens towards the housing during an alignment procedure and accommodating the lens by a holding device after the alignment procedure. The method further includes holding the lens by the holding device during a subsequent joining process, releasably attaching the holding device to the pre-centering device, aligning, via fastening elements, during the alignment procedure and moving the accommodated lens and the holding device attached to the pre-centering device relative to the receptacle device such that the lens and the holding device are aligned on the housing accommodated in the receptacle device.
Method for welding molded bodies
A process for welding a first molding to a second molding. The process uses an implement including first and second external surfaces. Each external surface further includes a duct. An end of the first molding is heated by a hot gas while the end is at a distance from the duct-entry plane in the range from 3 mm outside the duct to 10 mm inside the duct. A junction area of the second molding is heated by a hot gas while the junction area is at a distance from the duct-entry plane in a range from 3 mm outside the duct to 10 mm inside the duct. The heated end and the heated junction area are then brought into contact with one another and cooled, forming a weld between the first molding and the second molding. Also disclosed is a welded molding obtainable by the process of the invention.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR JOINING AT LEAST TWO PLASTIC PARTS
Method and apparatus for joining at least two plastic parts.
A method for joining at least two plastic parts (1, 5) along a predeterminable common joining point using infrared radiation (IR), is characterized in that each of the plastic parts (1, 5) to be joined is heated using infrared radiation at least along the joint by means of an assignable radiation source without touching the respective other plastic part (1, 5), that the respective one radiation source is operated independently and spatially separated from at least one further radiation source, that the radiation sources emit their respective infrared radiation to the respective assignable plastic part (1, 5) without contact and following the contour of the joint, and that the degree of heating by means of the respective infrared radiation is selected such that the joint is formed when the plastic parts (1, 5) are brought together.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR WELDING THERMOPLASTIC COMPONENTS TO CREATE COMPOSITE STRUCTURE
A system and method for welding thermoplastic components by positioning and moving a heated plate between the components to melt their respective faying surfaces, and as the plate moves, pressing the components together so that the melted faying surfaces bond together as they cool and re-solidify, thereby creating a composite structure. The plate has a heated portion which is positioned between and heated to melt a portion of the first and second faying surfaces. A manipulator mechanism moves the plate along an interface from between the portion to between a series of subsequent portions of the first and second faying surfaces, thereby welding the thermoplastic components along the entire interface to create the composite structure. The heated portion may contact the faying surfaces and melt them through conduction, or may be suspended between them and melt them through radiation and convection.
