Fuser and sealer integrated system

An integrated system for fusing and sealing of a plurality of tubes is disclosed. The integrated system includes one or more fusing units configured to cut one or more tubes of multiple tubes simultaneously, and fusing the one or more tubes together along their respective cut ends; one or more sealing units configured to seal an end of the tube of the multiple tubes; and a control unit for controlling functions of the one or more fusing units and the one or more sealing units.

A blood bag sterile connection method includes the following steps: 1) placing blood bag tubes above the wire box, clamping positions to be cut by using the vascular clamps, and simultaneously moving the two vascular clamps in opposite directions; 2) heating the composite metal wire, and cutting the blood bag tubes by using the composite metal wire; 3) after cutting the blood bag tubes, aligning the blood bag tubes to be connected; 4) moving the two vascular clamps towards each other, rolling away the used composite metal wire, and rolling out a new composite metal wire; 5) connecting the blood bag tubes by heating the composite metal wire, and simultaneously moving the two vascular clamps towards each other; and 6) returning the wire box to the initial position, taking out the connected blood bag tubes, and returning the vascular clamps to the initial positions.

Device for welding plastic tubes

A device for welding plastic tubes includes a pair of tube holders each of which has a tube clamp which includes an upper jaw and a lower jaw. The jaws in both of the tube clamps of both tube holders have smooth tube contacting walls to permit the tubing to slip through either side when the tube holders and tubes are being moved from a loading station to a stripping station to increase the length of fluid free area in the clamped tubes. A cutting/welding station provides for cutting the tubes and welding them together.

End seal carriage velocity differential

A form-fill-seal system includes a tube feeding system, an end seal carriage, and a computing device. The tube feeding system feeds a tube of flexible material at a first velocity. The computing device controls the end seal carriage to cause an increase in a velocity of the end seal carriage to substantially the first velocity, a start of a dwell time of the end seal mechanism on the tube of flexible material while the velocity of the end seal carriage is at substantially the first velocity, and an increase in the velocity of the end seal carriage to a second velocity during the dwell time. The end seal mechanism cuts a package from the tube during the dwell time. The increase in the velocity of the end seal carriage to the second velocity results in an increased distance of the package from the tube.

Delivering a blood processing solution to blood in a blood bag includes coupling a first tube to a vented spike at one end and to a Y-shaped tube connector at a second end. An in-line microbiotic barrier filter is coupled to the first tube between its ends. A second tube is coupled to a transfer bag at one end and to the Y-shaped tube connector at its other end. A third tube is coupled to the output of the Y-shaped tube connector and sealed at its distal end. The blood bag includes a fourth tube that is sealed at a distal end. The third tube is welded to the fourth tube using a sterile tubing welder, wherein a functionally-closed, sterile flow path through which the blood processing solution can flow into the blood bag is maintained.
