Functional element for attachment to a plastic component and a component assembly
A functional element of metal having a flange of larger diameter from an attachment surface and a centering section arranged inside the attachment surface and extending away from the flange, characterized in that an adhesive is arranged around the cylindrical section and adjacent to the attachment surface.
Synthetic Turf Seaming and System with Adhesive Mesh Inlay components
Novel application methods and systems for polyurethane adhesives are provided with high pressure application of polyurethane adhesive from mobile dispensing units, and the use of adhesive scrim.
ELASTOMER ADHESIVE WITH RAPID TACK DEVELOPMENT
An adhesive composition having two distinct reaction mechanisms, a first being the reaction between a tri-functional isocyanate and an active hydrogen compound and a second begin the free radical initiation of an acrylic monomer. This adhesive develops tack strength through the first reaction allowing two substrates to remain in position relative to one another while the free radical cure of the acrylic monomer takes place to fully bond the substrates together, for example when adhering a rubber liner to the inside of a metallic tank.
SHROUD AND METHOD FOR FIXEDLY COVERING A PIPE WITH A CAMOUFLAGE SCHEME USING THERMOPLASTIC SHRINK WRAP, HYDRO DIPPING, AND A MULTI-LAYERED PANEL
A shroud and method for fixedly covering a pipe with a camouflage scheme using thermoplastic shrink wrap, hydro dipping, or multi-layered panels. The shroud serves to securely and permanently encapsulate a substantial portion of a pipe with a camouflage scheme to make the pipe less conspicuous by blending in with the environment. Fastening mechanisms, including hook and loop fasteners, magnets, adhesives, and frictional fittings are used to fasten an inner fastening film of the shroud to an external surface of the pipe. The shroud further includes an outer film having a camouflage scheme, such as mottled camouflage. The color and pattern display on the camouflage scheme creates a visual effect that integrates the pipe with external or interior environment. In this manner, the pipe is less visible. The camouflaging effect is effective for enhancing the aesthetics of a garden, or hiding the pipe for strategic purposes.
CONNECTION METHOD IN ADDITION TO A FUNCTIONAL PART WHICH CAN BE USED THEREFOR, AND FLAME-RETARDANT TOTAL SYSTEM PRODUCED THEREBY
The invention relates to a connection method in addition to a functional part which can be used therefor and to a flame-retardant total system produced in accordance therewith. The invention relates to a method for connecting a single- or multilayer functional part (10) to a third component (20), wherein the functional part (10) has functional elements (14, 16) projecting on at least one side. Said method is characterized in that the functional part (10) is formed at least partially from a material which is at least partially transparent to laser light, and in that a blocking layer (18) is disposed so as to be at least partially opaque to laser light in such a way that after passage of the laser light through the functional part (10) the laser light inside the blocking layer (18) generates heat by absorption which is suitable for melting the functional part (10) and/or the third component (20) in order to connect them to one another in this way.
Adhesive set, adhesive body, and manufacturing method therefor
An adhesive set includes a main agent containing a decomplexing agent and an initiator containing an organoborane complex. At least one of the main agent and the initiator further contains a compound having a radically polymerizable group. At least one of the main agent and the initiator further contains a compound having a thiocarbonylthio structure.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR APPLYING MULTI-COMPONENT ADHESIVES USING JETTING VALVES
An apparatus and method for dispensing a multi-component adhesive using a pair of non-contact jetting valves. The multi-component adhesive is a combination of two or more individual reactive adhesive components, which are not adhesive by nature on their own, but which can be mixed to chemically react and form an adhesive. The individual reactive adhesive components are held and dispensed separately by the apparatus, such that the individual reactive adhesive components do not mix before they are deposited onto the target substrate.
Leak-proof fastening device
The present invention pertains to a washer (11) for a female fastener (12, 12A), particularly a nut or collar, said washer comprising an annular base (15) and a substantially cylindrical skirt (13) of an outer periphery of the annular base, said annular base comprising a central orifice (18) coaxial with the axis (14) of the skirt, characterized in that the annular base is at least partially covered with a layer (21) of a viscous composition capable of forming a liquid-tight coating through polymerization. When installing a nut having such a washer onto a male fastener such as a pin (33), the spreading of the viscous layer makes it possible to fill in the gaps (36) of the assembly, the polymerization of the composition ensuring its leak-tightness afterwards.
Method for manufacturing a bonded body of galvanized steel sheet and adherend
There is provided a technique to strongly integrate a galvanized steel sheet and a resin molded article. A hot-dip galvanized steel sheet is immersed in an aqueous solution for aluminum degreasing to form a specific roughness on the surface. The surface is covered with convex protrusions having a diameter of about 100 nm, and a chromate treatment layer appears in the surface. A resin composition comprising 70 to 97 wt % of polyphenylene sulfide and 3 to 30 wt % of a polyolefin resin is injected onto the surface. The resin composition penetrates into ultra-fine irregularities and is cured in that state, and thereby a composite in which the galvanized steel sheet and the resin molded article are strongly integrated can be obtained. The shear rupture strength of the composite is extremely high.
INTERNAL CONDUCTIVE ELEMENT FOR BONDING STRUCTURAL ENTITIES
An apparatus (100) comprising: first and second structural parts (102, 104) that are formed of a rigid material or a semi-rigid material; and a bond comprising a first adhesive (304) and at least one conductive member (502) disposed in a bonding area (306) between the first and second structural parts so as to securely couple the first and second structural parts together. The cure time of the first adhesive is decreased and a strength of the bond is increased during a bonding process by increasing a temperature of the first adhesive using the conductive member having electricity traveling therethrough.
