INDIRECT PRINTING SYSTEM AND RELATED APPARATUS
Some embodiments relate to printing system is described that has an intermediate transfer member (ITM) in the form of a seamed endless belt for transporting an ink image from an image forming station, at which an ink image is deposited on ITM, to an impression station, where the ink image is transferred onto a printing substrate. Two drive members are provided for movement in synchronism with one another. Rotation of the drive members during installation of a new ITM serves to thread the strip through the printing system by pulling the strip from its leading end. Alternatively or additionally, indirect printing system comprising the ITM and an image forming station at which droplets of ink are applied to the ITM to form ink images thereon is disclosed. One or more blowing mechanisms (e.g. associated with the image forming station) are disclosed herein.

Apparatus for threading an intermediate transfer member of a printing system
A printing system is described that has an intermediate transfer member in the form of a seamed endless belt for transporting an ink image from an image forming station, at which an ink image is deposited on the intermediate transfer member, to an impression station, where the ink image is transferred onto a printing substrate. The belt has along its edges formations of a greater thickness than the belt. The formations are received in channels to guide the belt and maintain the belt under lateral tension. Two drive members are provided, each located within a respective one of the channels. The two drive members are connected for movement in synchronism with one another and each has a respective laterally projecting gripper shaped for form locking engagement with the formations on a leading end of a strip from which the intermediate transfer member is to be formed. Rotation of the drive members during installation of a new intermediate transfer member serves to thread the strip through the printing system by pulling the strip from its leading end.
Joining method and machining head and manufacturing machine for carrying out the method
A joining method for connecting at least two thermoplastic workpieces is provided to permit the joining even of non-transparent carbon fiber reinforced plastics parts by means of laser welding, in which a splice is produced at the edge regions of the workpieces and the workpieces are subsequently positioned relative to one another in such a manner that the opposite splice regions bound a seam region. Connecting bodies are then inserted into the seam region and heated by means of local heat input by laser beam such that a fixed integrally bonded connection forms between the workpieces and the connecting bodies.
METHOD FOR BONDING RUBBER AND ADHESIVE FOR BONDING RUBBER
The invention relates to a high-strength and permanently elastic curable adhesive for bonding at least two surfaces, of which at least one surface is a surface of a permanently elastic plastic wherein the adhesive is an adhesive that cures in at least two different hardening mechanisms, wherein the first hardening mechanism comprises a chemical reaction to form a chemical bond including a sulphur atom, and the second hardening mechanism comprises the formation of crystalline structures from amorphous polymers. The invention also relates to a method for high-strength and permanently elastic bonding of at least two surfaces to one another, of which at least one surface is that of a permanently elastic plastic, by means of such an adhesive, said method comprising the steps of: applying the adhesive to at least a first of the surfaces to be connected, ensuring conditions under which at least the first hardening mechanism of the adhesive can take place, bringing the first surface into contact with the second surface, and ensuring conditions under which the second hardening mechanism of the adhesive can take place.
INTERMEDIATE TRANSFER MEMBER
A heat-curable tape, a kit, and a method for connecting ends of an elongate belt to form an intermediate transfer members suitable for use with indirect printing systems. The kit includes an elongate belt and the heat-curable tape. The kit can include a crimping pin. The method includes using the heat curable tape to join ends of the elongate belt at a seam. A heater is used, in a printing system, for heat-curing the heat-curable tape onto the free ends of the elongate belt so as to form the intermediate transfer member.
APPARATUS FOR THREADING AN INTERMEDIATE TRANSFER MEMBER OF A PRINTING SYSTEM
A printing system is described that has an intermediate transfer member in the form of a seamed endless belt for transporting an ink image from an image forming station, at which an ink image is deposited on the intermediate transfer member, to an impression station, where the ink image is transferred onto a printing substrate. The belt has along its edges formations of a greater thickness than the belt. The formations are received in channels to guide the belt and maintain the belt under lateral tension. The two drive members are connected for movement in synchronism with one another and each has a respective laterally projecting gripper shaped for form locking engagement with the formations on a leading end of a strip from which the intermediate transfer member is to be formed. Rotation of the drive members during installation of a new intermediate transfer member serves to thread the strip through the printing system by pulling the strip from its leading end.
Method for manufacturing a flexible skin having at least one insert adhered thereto
The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a flexible skin which has at least one insert adhered thereto. In a first step, the skin is molded on a mold surface. In order to adhere the insert to the skin, an opening is first made in the skin giving access to the back face of the insert. The insert is positioned with its back face against the front face of the skin and an adhering layer is provided which is adhesively connected to the back face of the skin layer which surrounds the opening in the skin layer and, through this opening, to the back face of the insert. The adhering layer is preferably produced by applying a layer of a hardenable material, in particular a curable polyurethane composition. Since the back face of the insert engages the front side of the skin penetration of hardenable material to the front face of the insert is avoided.

A wind turbine rotor blade may generally include a blade root, a blade tip opposite the blade root and a body shell extending between the blade root and the blade tip. The body shell may include a pressure side and a suction side extending between a leading edge and a trailing edge and may define an outer shell surface. The rotor blade may also include a leading edge cap coupled to the body shell at the leading edge. The leading edge cap may be formed from a fiber-reinforced composite including an inner surface extending directly adjacent to the body shell along a portion of the outer shell surface and an outer surface opposite the inner surface. The fiber-reinforced composite may include a plurality of fibers surrounded by a thermoplastic resin material, with the thermoplastic resin material extending throughout the fiber reinforced composite from the inner surface to the outer surface.
Wind turbine blade and a method of assembling a wind turbine blade and a spar cap connection piece
A wind turbine blade comprising first and second adjacent blade sections arranged end to end along the length of the blade. Each section comprises an aerodynamic fairing and a spar. Each spar comprises a shear web extending across the fairing and a pair of spar caps, one at either end of the shear web. Each spar cap in the first section has a different cross-sectional shape and/or material from the respective spar cap in the second section and wherein the spar cap in the first section is joined to the respective spar cap in the second section via a connection piece. Each connection piece is a pre-cured component extending along the length of the blade from a first inclined end configured to connect to a first complimentary inclined end of a spar cap of the first blade section and a second inclined end.
