Casing Tube and Manufacturing Method Thereof
A pre-buried casing tube uses glass fiber reinforced resin as the raw material to enhance the operation strength of the pre-buried casing tube, extend the service life of the pre-buried casing tube, and reduce maintenance cost of the railway transport system. The pre-buried casing tube includes at least one casing tube body, each casing tube body including at least one retaining element, the retaining elements provided in intervals along one side of the casing tube, each casing tube body disposed adjacently so as to form a passage for a screw, each retaining element provided in the passage for the screw.
Aircraft skin attachment system
A method for forming a structural member and a structural member produced thereby includes positioning a first composite section and a second composite section within a tool. The tool has an inner surface and a wall intersection and is supported by a tool platform. The tool platform and a pressure platform are relatively movable between an open position and a closed position. The tool has a non-planar outer surface against which the member may be pressed. A composite splice member is positioned at least partially overlapping both the first composite section and the second composite section to form a joint in the composite structural member. The composite structural member is pressed against the non-planar outer surface of the tool by applying pressure to the joint from a pressure bladder. Heat is applied to the composite structural member at the joint to cure the composite splice member to the first composite section and the second composite section.
Connection between two parts and method for connecting two parts
A connection between two components and a method for connecting two components. The two components have plug-together portions with profiles which can be plugged into one another, the plug-together portions of the two components being plugged into one another in an overlapping region, and a winding region of the two components which at least partially coincides with the overlapping region being wound around by a winding of fiber-reinforced plastic.
TIRE CARCASS PLY JOINING APPARATUS AND METHOD
A method forms a butt joint between ends of first and second plies and splices the first and second plies together. The method includes the steps of: positioning a first splice edge of a first ply at a first location; positioning a second splice edge of a second ply at a second location, the second splice edge being left bare; wrapping a gum strip around the first splice edge such that the first gum strip forms a U-shaped structure in section that allows the first gum strip to extend from a first planar side of the first ply over the first splice edge to a second opposite planar side of the first ply; not wrapping a gum strip around the second splice edge; placing the first splice edge in abutting relationship to the second splice edge; and stitching the first splice edge to the second splice edge such that stitches each extend from the first planar side of the first ply, through the gum strip, to the first planar side of the second ply.
METHODS FOR JOINING SHEAR CLIPS IN WIND TURBINE ROTOR BLADES
Rotor blades and methods for joining shear clips in wind turbine rotor blades are provided. A method includes positioning the shear clip adjacent a shear web of the rotor blade, the shear clip including a thermoplastic resin, the shear web including a thermoplastic resin. The method further includes welding the thermoplastic resin of the shear clip and the thermoplastic resin of the shear web together. The method further includes positioning the shear clip adjacent a spar cap of the rotor blade, the spar cap including a thermoplastic resin. The method further includes welding the thermoplastic resin of the shear clip and the thermoplastic resin of the spar cap together. The method further includes joining the shear web and the spar cap together.
Methods and apparatus for joining treads
The subject invention includes methods and apparatus for joining treads. Such methods include the step of providing a first tread portion and a second tread portion for forming a joined tread, each tread portion comprising a section of tire tread extending lengthwise from a terminal end. Additional steps include providing a first fixture configured to retain the first tread portion and a second fixture configured to retain the second tread portion and securing the first tread portion into the first fixture and securing the second tread portion into the second fixture, each of the first and second fixtures being arranged within the first and second fixtures such that the terminal end of each tread portion is in communication with a joining side of each fixture. The methods further include directing the terminal ends towards each other and into forceful engagement with an elastomeric joining material arranged between the terminal ends.
Semi-conformable pressure application system and method for joining composite parts
A system and method for fusing at least two thermoplastic composite components together may include placing faying surfaces of the thermoplastic composite components in contact with each other, placing a separation layer over and against one of the thermoplastic composite components, and placing a multi-layer composite pressure pad over and in contact with the separation layer. The method may also include placing an activated inductor against the multi-layer composite pressure pad for induction welding the two thermoplastic composite components to each other. The thermoplastic composite components may comprise conductive fibers while the multi-layer composite pressure pad may comprise a first layer and a second layer with non-conductive fibers. The first layer may at least partially melt during induction welding of the two thermoplastic composite components while the second layer may remain rigid throughout this welding.
