The present disclosure relates to elastic laminates and methods for assembling elastic laminates that may be used to make absorbent article components. Elastic laminates may include one or more reinforcement layers positioned between unstretched portions of elastic materials and substrates to which the elastic materials are bonded.
Hybrid ultrasonic staking for joining panels
An apparatus to join two panels together includes a chamber, a horn positioned within the chamber, the horn moving reciprocally within the chamber, and a set of heating elements positioned about the horn to heat the horn. One of the panels has a post molded to it, the post extending through the other panel, and after the horn is heated an end of the horn is placed on top of the post and is ultrasonically vibrated to form a head of the post to join the two panels together.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ASSEMBLING ABSORBENT ARTICLES
The present disclosure relates to assembling elastic laminates that may be used to make absorbent article components. Methods herein may include an anvil adapted to rotate about an axis of rotation, wherein first and second spreader mechanisms adjacent the anvil roll are axially and angularly displaced from each other with respect to the axis of rotation. During the assembly process, a substrate may be advanced in a machine direction onto the rotating anvil. The first spreader mechanism stretches a first elastic material in the cross direction, and the second spreader mechanism stretches a second elastic material in the cross direction. The stretched first and second elastic materials advance from the spreader mechanisms and onto the substrate on the anvil roll. The combined and elastic materials may then be ultrasonically bonded together on the anvil to form at least one elastic laminate.
Bypass turbofan engine comprising a nacelle equipped with a translationally-mobile thrust-reversal system and with a fan case equipped with supports
A bypass turbofan engine with a nacelle comprising a fan case and a thrust-reversal system. The fan case comprises an exterior wall, and the reversal system comprises a slider having an upstream frame, a downstream frame and a plurality of spars fixed between the upstream frame and the downstream frame, in which the slider is able to move between a forward position and a retracted position. The fan case comprises, at a rear edge of its exterior wall, a support. Each support comprises, for each spar, a shoe fixed to the exterior wall and positioned radially about the spar, and a skirt secured to the shoes and extending the rear edge, in which, in a forward position, the skirt bears around the downstream frame, and in which in a forward/retracted/intermediate position, the shoes are distant from the spars from the upstream frame.
Welding apparatus
There is provided an apparatus 1 that includes a pair of molds 10a and 10b that press together, heat, and weld an overlapping part of a plurality of film-like members, a pair of heater blocks 20a and 20b that respectively support the pair of molds; a plurality of first support blocks 37 that are connected via a plurality of rod-like members 50, which midway include parts that restrict transmission of heat, to one heater block 20a; a plurality of second support blocks 38 that are connected via the plurality of rod-like members to the other heater block 20b; and a driving mechanism 60 that changes, via the support blocks, a gap between the pair of molds to press together the film-like members. The plurality of first support blocks include at least one movable support block 39 including a mechanism 35 that moves in a first direction relative to the driving mechanism corresponding to thermal deformation in the first direction of the heater block to be supported, and the plurality of second support blocks include at least one movable support block 39.
Systems and methods for assembling elongate composite structures
Systems and methods for assembling elongate composite structures are disclosed. The systems include a first rigid elongate cure tool defining a first elongate support surface for supporting a first elongate charge of composite material (FEC), a second rigid elongate cure tool defining a second elongate support surface for supporting a second elongate charge of composite material (SEC), and a flexible elongate caul plate. The systems further include a vacuum compaction film, a translation structure, and a vacuum source. Methods according to the present disclosure include positioning a vacuum compaction film, positioning a flexible elongate caul plate, and positioning an FEC. The methods further include positioning an SEC, contacting a region of the FEC with a region of the SEC, sealing the vacuum compaction film, evacuating the enclosed volume to generate an elongate composite assembly, and heating the elongate composite assembly to define the elongate composite structure.
