NEUROVASCULAR CATHETER
A neurovascular catheter is provided, such as for distal neurovascular access or aspiration. The catheter includes an elongate flexible tubular body, having a proximal end, a distal end and a side wall defining a central lumen. A distal zone of the tubular body includes a tubular inner liner, a tie layer separated from the lumen by the inner liner, a helical coil surrounding the tie layer, an outer jacket surrounding the helical coil, and an opening at the distal end. Adjacent windings of the helical coil are spaced progressively further apart in the distal direction. The opening at the distal end of the tubular body is enlargeable from a first inside diameter for transluminal navigation to a second, larger inside diameter to facilitate aspiration of thrombus into the lumen.
PROCESS FOR JOINING OVERLAPPING THERMOPLASTIC MEMBRANE COMPONENTS
A method of joining overlapping thermoplastic roofing membrane components in which a first thermoplastic roofing membrane component and a second roofing membrane component are positioned in overlapping relationship between a pair of complementary molding surfaces. Heat is generated in a metal substrate and transferred by thermal conduction from the metal substrate to overlapping portions of the first and second thermoplastic roofing membrane components to locally melt and coalesce a portion or more of the thermoplastic material of the first thermoplastic roofing membrane component and a portion or more of the thermoplastic material of the second thermoplastic roofing membrane component. The molten thermoplastic material of the first and second thermoplastic roofing membrane components forms a zone of coalesced thermoplastic material that, upon cooling, forms a solid weld joint.
PROCESS FOR JOINING OVERLAPPING THERMOPLASTIC MEMBRANE COMPONENTS
A method of joining overlapping thermoplastic geomembrane components in which a first thermoplastic geomembrane component and a second thermoplastic geomembrane component are positioned in overlapping relationship between a pair of complementary molding surfaces, with one or more of the complementary molding surfaces being defined by an electrically conductive metal susceptor. Heat is generated in the metal susceptor and transferred by thermal conduction from the metal susceptor to overlapping portions of the first and second thermoplastic geomembrane components to locally melt and coalesce a portion or more of the thermoplastic material of the first thermoplastic geomembrane component and a portion or more of the thermoplastic material of the second thermoplastic geomembrane component. The molten thermoplastic material of the first and second thermoplastic geomembrane components forms a zone of coalesced thermoplastic material that, upon cooling, forms a solid weld joint.
Composite vehicle driveshaft with welded joint system
A composite vehicle driveshaft is provided with a composite tube and a welded joint system(s) at one or both ends of the composite tube for connecting the composite vehicle driveshaft to driveline components. Each welded joint system may include a sleeve that is bonded to an end of the composite tube and a joint assembly that is welded to the sleeve.
Laser bonding method and laser bonding device
A resin pipe 30 and a resin member 31 are fixed to a setting portion 5 provided on the front side of a base 6, and a timing pulley 13 which is provided on the back side of the base 6 and to which a light emission unit 3 is attached is rotated. As a result, the light emission unit 3 applies laser light 20 to a junction 32 between the resin pipe 30 and the resin member 31 while revolving around the junction 32. This makes it easy to fuse and join the entire outer circumferential surface of the resin pipe 30 with the entire inner circumferential surface of the resin member 31, which are variously shaped and sized.
Liquid storage bottle and method of manufacturing the same
A liquid storage bottle includes a bottle body having a resin-made first cylindrical part at one end, the first cylindrical part having an opening at its front end, and a tubular nozzle for pouring out the liquid contained in the inside of the bottle body by way of the opening, the tubular nozzle having a resin-made second cylindrical part bonded to the bottle body. The inner peripheral surface of the second cylindrical part is welded to the outer peripheral surface of the first cylindrical part. The outer peripheral surface of the first cylindrical part is provided with an annular groove extending in the circumferential direction and the annular groove is made to contain a part of the resin that is molten during the bonding operation.
METAL COMPOSITE JOINTS FOR COMPOSITE RODS
A method for joining composite rods with tubular shape without expensive, machined connectors and without compromising the structural integrity of the composite rod includes internal and external collars applied to the ends of the composite rod and deformed via unidirectional compressive load applied by a clamp in the radial direction of the composite rod cross-section. The resulting plastic deformation of the metal collars and composite rod interlock those components to support both compressive and tensile loads. The deformed metal collars are easily joinable to other components via off-the-shelf hardware.
MULTI-FUNCTIONAL INTERFACE/SURFACE LAYER FOR THERMOPLASTIC COMPONENTS
A joint between dissimilar thermoplastic materials comprising a first thermoplastic material layer; a second thermoplastic material layer having a melting point temperature different from a melting point temperature of the first thermoplastic material layer; and an interface layer coupled between the first thermoplastic material layer and the second thermoplastic material layer; wherein the interface layer is configured to join the first thermoplastic material layer and the second thermoplastic material layer together to form the joint, wherein the interface layer comprises a melting point temperature having a value selected from the group consisting of between the melting point temperature of the first thermoplastic material layer and the melting point temperature of the second thermoplastic material layer; or lower than the melting point temperature of the first thermoplastic material layer and the melting point temperature of the second thermoplastic material layer.
Primers for use with solvent cements
Provided are primer formulations for solvent cement bonding comprising cyclopentanone and, optionally, at least one additional organic solvent. The primer formulations are effective for solvent cement bonding plastic components together, wherein the plastic components may include ABS, PVC, or CPVC pipes and/or fittings.
Method of making an enhanced flexibility neurovascular catheter
A method of making a high flexibility distal zone on a neurovascular catheter is provided. The method includes the steps of dip coating a removable mandrel to form a tubular inner layer on the mandrel, coating the tubular inner layer with a tie layer, applying a helical coil to the outside of the tie layer, positioning a plurality of tubular segments, heating the tubular segments to form the high flexibility distal zone on the neurovascular catheter; and removing the mandrel.
