Methods and apparatuses for assembling elastic laminates with a rotating roll and removable layer
A method for ultrasonically bonding elastic laminates is provided. The method includes attaching a removable shell layer to at least a portion of an exterior surface of a rotating roll, advancing at least a laminate material assembly along a machine direction to dispose the laminate material assembly on the removable shell layer, applying a vacuum pressure to the laminate material assembly, ultrasonically bonding the laminate material assembly, and advancing the elastic laminate including the laminate pattern along the machine direction.
Methods of using compression collars for coupling a tube to a tube fitting
A method for coupling a tube to a tube fitting includes radially outwardly expanding a tubular compression collar from a constricted state to an expanded state, the compression collar having a throughway extending there through and being made of a resiliently flexible material. An end of the tube is inserted within the throughway of the expanded compression collar, the tube bounding a passage. A tube fitting is inserted within the passage of the tube. The compression collar is allowed to resiliently rebound back towards the constricted state so that the compression collar pushes the tube against the tube fitting.
Apparatus and a method for entrapping an elastomeric material with form-fitting elastomeric regions
An apparatus for fabricating an elasticized material having at least one elastic strand transversely positioned across the apparatus. The apparatus includes a first bonding module and a second bonding module positionable in proximity to the first bonding module. At least one of the first bonding module and the second bonding module has a face with a width dimension and a circumferential axis and is rotatable about a rotation axis in a velocity vector direction, the face having a contour pattern containing a plurality of entrapment elements arranged along a width of the contour pattern, the plurality of entrapment elements having a land and a notch constructed to receive and hold the at least one elastic strand, wherein the contour pattern is arranged at an angle of between 30 and +30 from perpendicular to the at least one elastic strand with respect to the velocity vector direction, during bonding operation, and wherein the land and notch has a longitudinal axis that is at an angle of between 30 and +30 from parallel to the at least one elastic strand with respect to the velocity vector direction.
Manufacturing of polyethylene thin films for high-altitude balloons
Aspects of the disclosure relate to manufacturing a balloon envelope for use in a stratospheric balloon system. For instance, a stream of polyethylene mixture is extruded through an extruder in order to orient molecules of polymer chains of polyethylene and to provide an oriented film. The oriented film is passed through an electron beam and thereby crosslinking the polymer chains to provide a cross-linked film. The cross-linked film is heat sealed to form the balloon envelope.
WATER-SOLUBLE FILM AND CHEMICAL AGENT PACKAGE USING THE SAME, AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME
A gelatin-containing water-soluble film having excellent water solubility, excellent mechanical properties such as film strength and elongation, and excellent sealability is provided as follows. The water-soluble film contains gelatin and a polyvinyl alcohol resin (A). The polyvinyl alcohol resin (A) contains a modified polyvinyl alcohol resin.
MANUFACTURING OF POLYETHYLENE THIN FILMS FOR HIGH-ALTITUDE BALLOONS
Aspects of the disclosure relate to manufacturing a balloon envelope for use in a stratospheric balloon system using an improved double-bubble blown-film extrusion process with water quenching and electron beam processing. A stream of polyethylene mixture is extruded through an extruder to orient molecules of polymer chains and provide an oriented film. The oriented film is passed through an electron beam, crosslinking the polymer chains to produce a cross-linked film with enhanced mechanical properties. The cross-linked film is heat sealed to form the balloon envelope comprising multiple gores. The resulting balloon envelope exhibits superior characteristics including crystallinity greater than 50%, strength to weight ratio greater than 1 MPa/(dtg/cm.sup.3), thickness less than 1.5 mil, thermal emissivity less than 0.03 at 193K, and optical clarity greater than 95%. The manufacturing process may include water quenching to enhance optical clarity and dual electron beam treatment for uniform crosslinking throughout the film thickness.
Stretch layered sheet, disposable wearing article, and method and device for manufacturing stretch layered sheet
The present layered stretchable sheet includes: a plurality of attachment portions at which a pair of non-woven fabrics and a film are thermally bonded together, wherein each one of the attachment portions includes at least one thermal bonding area where the pair of non-woven fabrics and the film are thermally bonded together; at least one boundary line that defines the thermal bonding area; a first vent that is defined by a first opening of the film appearing in a stretched state of the film along the boundary line and that exerts air permeability; and a second vent that is defined by a second opening where a part of the film is absent, the second opening being adjacent to the thermal bonding area and being delimited by the boundary line, wherein the second vent exerts air permeability both in the stretched state and in a non-stretched state.
MANUFACTURING APPARATUS FOR DISPLAY DEVICE, METHOD OF MANUFACTURING DISPLAY DEVICE USING SAME, AND ELECTRONIC DEVICE INCLUDING DISPLAY DEVICE
A manufacturing apparatus for a display device includes: a pad assembly including a body, a core member, and a pad coupled together and configured to move in a vertical direction; and a jig configured to accommodate at least a portion of the pad assembly. At least a portion of the core member is in a body accommodating area formed by the body, and the core member has an expansion opening covered by the pad and facing an inner surface of the pad.
