AN ASSEMBLY OF TWO PARTS, ONE OF WHICH IS MADE OF COMPOSITE MATERIAL, THE PARTS BEING ASSEMBLED TOGETHER BY A MECHANICAL ANCHOR ELEMENT
An assembly of two parts, one of the parts being made of composite material with fiber reinforcement obtained from a fiber preform made by three-dimensional weaving and densified with a matrix, the assembly including a mechanical anchor element secured to one of the parts and inserted inside the other part.
BONDING OBJECTS TOGETHER
A method of bonding a second object to a first object includes: providing the first object having a thermoplastic liquefiable material in a solid state; providing the second object having a surface portion that has a coupling structure with an undercut, so that the second object is capable of making a positive-fit connection with the first object; pressing the second object against the first object with a tool that is in physical contact with a coupling-in structure of the second object while mechanical vibrations are coupled into the tool; continuing to press and couple vibrations into the tool until a flow portion of the thermoplastic material of the first object is liquefied and flows into the coupling structures of the second object; and letting the thermoplastic material re-solidify to yield a positive-fit connection between the first and second objects by the re-solidified flow portion interpenetrating the coupling structures.
METHOD FOR PRODUCING A STRUCTURAL COMPONENT FOR A MOTOR VEHICLE
The present disclosure relates to a method for producing a structural component for a motor vehicle, in particular a motor vehicle body component, which has a main body made of a metal material. The main body is provided at least partially with a reinforcing element made of a fiber-composite plastic. The method includes the steps of providing the main body, providing the reinforcing element, joining the main body and the reinforcing element together, and simultaneously heating the main body and the reinforcing element to a temperature and for a period of time which are chosen to be sufficiently high in order to harden both the metal material of the main body and also the fiber-composite plastic of the reinforcing element.
Method of sticking together and un-sticking two parts by means of a filled adhesive
A method of bonding a first part on a second part made of composite material by an adhesive, in which the adhesive is filled with elements of shape memory alloy, is provided. A method of un-sticking the first part adhesively bonded on the composite material second part is also provided. The un-sticking method includes a step of weakening the adhesive interface that consists in subjecting the adhesively bonded parts to heat treatment performed at a temperature that is lower or higher than the martensitic transformation temperature of the shape memory alloy elements.
BONDING APPARATUS AND BONDING METHOD
The bonding apparatus of the present invention is an apparatus that bonds a patch containing a reinforcing fiber to a bonded section of a corner section CR of an object member. The bonding apparatus has s heater mat, a pushing member, a bag member having a decompression port, a mold releasing film, a breather, a heater mat and a sealant. A pushing member has a first cowl plate, a second cowl plate and an elastic pressuring body. A pressuring section of the pushing member has the surface shape corresponding to a corner section design value after the patch is bonded. By protruding from a gap between a first cowl plate and a second cowl plate to a direction of the corner section CR, the patch is pushed to the bonded section and the generation of a wrinkle in the reinforcing fiber can be prevented.
Method for manufacturing multilayer member
A method for manufacturing a multilayer member that provides excellent adhesiveness without using a primer. An embodiment of the present invention provides a method for manufacturing a multilayer member including a first member containing a crystalline thermoplastic resin, an adhesion layer, and a second member in this order, the method including a surface treatment step of performing dry treatment on a surface of the first member containing a crystalline thermoplastic resin, satisfying the following condition A, an adhesive application step of forming an adhesive layer in a surface subjected to the dry treatment of the first member by applying an adhesive to the surface subjected to the dry treatment of the first member without interposing a primer composition, and an adhering step of making the second member adhere onto the adhesive layer.
Hybrid composite-metal shaft
A method for making a composite-metal hybrid shaft for a rotorcraft includes providing a tubular metal member that has an internal surface defining a space therein, preparing a composite member using a curing tool, curing the composite member, creating a cured composite member, expanding the metal member with heat, placing the cured composite member into the space defined by the internal surface of the expanded metal member, and allowing the expanded metal member to cool.
ATTACHMENTS
Mechanically attaching articles made from composites has problems due to the difference in properties of the composite in the x, y planar direction and the z perpendicular direction, this results in different properties between the composite and the attachment member such as differences in coefficients of thermal expansion which can weaken the joint further leading to differences in moisture uptake which can further reduce the strength and robustness of the joint. The invention relates to the selection of the position of a joint in order to reduce such problems and to operating the moulding process in a way that improves the provision of mechanical attachments such as bolt holes.
Inflatable bladders for use in footwear and other articles of manufacture
The present invention is a method for manufacturing inflatable bladders for use in articles of manufacture. The method includes the steps of providing a first polymer film, applying a curable release coating to the polymer film in a pattern that corresponds to the configuration of the inflatable bladder, curing the release coating to the first polymer film, providing a second polymer film with the first polymer film to form a layered element such that the release coating is disposed between the polymer films, positioning the layered element between two plies of material, applying heat and pressure to adhere the polymer films together except in the area where the release coating has been applied to form an inflatable compartment surrounded by a sealed perimeter, and removing the plies of material from the adhered first and second polymer films.
Rotational driving force transmission mechanism
A rotational driving force transmission mechanism includes a cylindrical shaft made of fiber reinforced plastic, and a first constant velocity joint. The shaft is joined to the first constant velocity joint via a metallic intervening member which is attached to one end of the shaft in the axial direction. The intervening member includes a shaft portion and a main body portion. The shaft portion is inserted into the one end of the shaft from a distal end side thereof. The main body portion is of a bottomed tubular shape made up from a bottom part joined to a proximal end side of the shaft portion, and a tubular portion fitted over the one end of the shaft. The first constant velocity joint includes an inner ring fitted externally over the tubular portion of the intervening member.
