An endless belt includes a band-shaped belt main body made of a vulcanized rubber, and a coupling part that is made of a thermoplastic resin and is provided between both end parts of the belt main body, wherein the vulcanized rubber of the both end parts of the belt main body and the thermoplastic resin of the coupling part are chemically bonded to each other.

WIND TURBINE ROTOR BLADE ASSEMBLY HAVING A STRUCTURAL TRAILING EDGE

A rotor blade assembly includes a rotor blade defining a pressure side and a suction side extending between a leading edge and a trailing edge. Further, the rotor blade assembly includes at least one structural feature secured within the rotor blade and spaced apart from the trailing edge to define a void between the pressure side, the suction side, and the trailing edge. Moreover, the rotor blade assembly includes an adhesive filling the void between the pressure side, the suction side, and the trailing edge to provide an adhesive connection between the pressure side, the suction side, the trailing edge, and the structural feature(s). In addition, the adhesive contacts the structural feature(s) at an interface and defines a fillet profile.

Surface preparation

A surface preparation method (200) for a composite material (104) having an original surface (110), the material (104) comprising fibres (104a) within a matrix (104b), comprises removing (204) a surface portion of the matrix (104b) by plasma ablation so as to reveal and activate (206) a new surface (120) with at least a portion of a plurality of the fibres (104a) exposed thereon, without creating a residual heat-affected zone.

JOINING METHOD AND ASSEMBLY FOR AN AIRCRAFT
20230321926 · 2023-10-12 ·

A joining method and assembly for an aircraft. To improve the characteristics or permit hitherto impossible connections between thermoplastic and thermoset components, a multi-material joining method is disclosed in which a thermoplastic connecting region is formed on the thermoplastic component. The connecting region is connected to the thermoset component by interdiffusion. For this purpose, the uncured second component is brought into contact with the connecting region and heat is supplied. An interdiffusion layer is formed which fixedly connects the second component and the connecting region to one another and thus joins the first component to the second component.

Assembly comprising a component rotatable about a rotary axis for an actuating drive, and a sensor element attached to the rotatable component

The disclosure relates to an assembly comprising a component rotatable about a rotary axis for an actuating drive comprising a sensor element attached to the rotatable component. The rotatable component has a support surface from which a fixing element protrudes in parallel to the rotary axis. The sensor element includes an opening. The sensor element is arranged on the support surface in such a manner that the fixing element penetrates the opening. A surface of the sensor element adjacent to the opening has a structure. A top portion of the fixing element is in interlocking engagement with the structure so that the attached sensor element is connected to the component in a torque-resistant manner.

A laminated body in which a thermoplastic resin layer, a thermosetting resin layer, and a protective film are layered one on another in this order, in which the thermosetting resin layer contains a thermosetting resin composition containing two or more kinds of organometallic complex, a surface of the protective film at an opposite side of the thermosetting resin layer has a surface roughness Ra of 30 nm or less, and an amount of nitrogen atoms present at the surface of the protective film at the side of the thermosetting resin layer is less than 1 atm %.

COMPOSITE/METAL JOINTS FOR COMPOSITE RODS
20230287914 · 2023-09-14 ·

A method of forming a joint between a composite component and a metallic component is disclosed. The method includes forming a first groove in an outer surface of the metallic component on a first end of the metallic component. The first groove extends circumferentially on the outer surface relative to a center axis of the metallic component, and the first groove extends radially inward from the outer surface relative the center axis. The method further includes inserting the first end of the metallic component into a first end of the composite component. A second groove on the composite component over the first groove of the metallic component such that the composite component extends radially inward into the first groove of the metallic component. A composite hoop reinforcement is then applied in the second groove in a circumferential direction and the composite component, and the composite hoop reinforcement are solidified.

Method for producing a common connecting opening in two components, at least one of which is made from a plastically deformable material

A method is provided for producing a common connecting opening in two components, at least one of which is made from a plastically deformable material. In the method, at least the edge region of a first prefabricated opening of the first component is softened in order subsequently to introduce a mandrel which displaces the material softened by the heating so that a common connecting opening having a predetermined diameter is obtained.

Compression collars for coupling a tube to a tube fitting

A coupling assembly includes: a tubular compression collar having a tubular body made of a resiliently flexible polymeric material and having an interior surface and an opposing exterior surface; an end of a tube disposed within a throughway of the compression collar; and a tube fitting disposed within the passageway of the tube. The tube fitting includes: a tubular stem; a flange radially outwardly projecting from an exterior surface of the stem; and an annular barb encircling and radially outwardly projecting from the exterior surface of the stem, the annular barb including a frustoconical outside face that extends along and outwardly slopes away from the stem as the outside face extends toward the flange.
