METHOD OF ANCHORING A FIRST OBJECT IN A SECOND OBJECT
A first object is anchored in a second object. The first object has a material with thermoplastic properties, and the second material has a material that is solid and is penetrable by the first material when in a liquefied state. The second object has an insertion face with an opening having a mouth in the insertion face, and the first object has an insert portion that for anchoring is placed in the opening or about the mouth thereof. For anchoring, energy suitable for liquefaction of the first material impinges in an amount and for a time sufficient for at least partial liquefaction of the first material and interpenetration of the first and second materials. The second object, around the opening, has an anisotropic strength with respect to forces perpendicular to the opening axis.
Floating mandrel and method of RF welding using a floating mandrel
A mandrel for use in welding an air mattress having a top layer, bottom layer and at least one baffle joining the top layer and bottom layer, the mandrel includes a central mounting block; a baffle locating pin on a top surface of the central mounting block for securing the baffle to the central mounting block; a conductive sealing surface positioned along an edge of the central mounting block; a stop block positioned on the top surface of the central mounting block adjacent the sealing surface; and a bumper mounted to the central mounting block.
Apparatus and system for fabricating an elastic nonwoven material
An apparatus for fabricating an elastic nonwoven material generally includes a rotary ultrasonic horn and a rotary anvil positionable in close proximity to the ultrasonic horn. The anvil has a face with a width and a circumferential axis. The face has a plurality of ridges each of which defines a plurality of interspaced lands and notches.
Apparatus and method for making inflated articles
A sealing device generally includes a rotatable support cylinder having an outer, circumferential surface and a heating element disposed about such surface and secured thereto such that the heating element rotates therewith. The heating element is coiled about the outer surface of the cylinder in the form of an overlapping helical pattern. Juxtaposed film plies may be sealed together by bringing the sealing device into rotational contact with the juxtaposed film plies and heating the heating element to a temperature sufficient to cause the film plies to seal together.
Apparatus for bonding separators in electrical devices
An apparatus for bonding separators in electrical devices the separators to each other so as to sandwich an electrode, includes a transmission unit configured to generate ultrasonic oscillations, an amplifier unit configured to amplify the generated oscillations, an abutting part configured to apply the amplified oscillations to the separators so as to bond the separators to each other, and separator conveyance units configured to convey the separators to a bonding position where the abutting part bonds the pair of separators to each other, the transmission unit, the amplifier unit, and the abutting part are laid out parallel to a direction in which the separators are conveyed.
Glueless pocketed spring unit construction
Methods and systems for no-glue pocketed spring unit construction. Rows of pocketed springs, preferably arranged into modules of more than two pocketed springs surrounding a central hole, are ultrasonically welded together when paired vibrating probes and anvils press layers of pocketed spring fabric from the rows of pocketed springs together and a welding pulse is transmitted to the vibrating probe.
Apparatus for fabricating an elastic nonwoven material
An apparatus for fabricating an elastic nonwoven material generally includes a first bonding module and a second bonding module. The second bonding module is positionable in close proximity to the first bonding module for receiving a first nonwoven fabric, a second nonwoven fabric, and at least one elastic strand therebetween. The second bonding module has a face with a width dimension and a circumferential axis and is rotatable about a rotation axis. The face has a plurality of ridges includes a first ridge and a pair of second ridges positioned on opposing sides of the first ridge along the circumferential axis. The first ridge defines a plurality of interspaced lands and notches, and the second ridges are configured to sever the at least one elastic strand when in close proximity to the first bonding module.
Deep-drawing packaging machine with impulse sealing bars and impulse sealing method
The disclosure relates to a deep-drawing packaging machine comprising, in a direction of production, a forming station for producing trays in a film web, a loading stretch for filling the trays with a product, a sealing device for sealing the trays with a top film, as well as a cutting device for separating finished packagings. The sealing device comprises a first sealing tool for a first sealing cycle and a second sealing tool for a second sealing cycle. The first sealing tool comprises at least one first pair of impulse sealing bars oriented in a first orientation relative to the direction of production for producing first sealing seam sections, and the second sealing tool comprises at least one second pair of impulse sealing bars oriented in a second orientation relative to the direction of production for producing second sealing seam sections.
Method and apparatus for shaping webs in a vertical form, fill, and sealing system
A method and apparatus for pleating or otherwise shaping a web are described herein. The method and apparatus may have numerous applications. In some embodiments, the method and apparatus are used in the formation, filling, and sealing of unit dose packages for consumer products. A method and apparatus for forming sealing two moving webs together, which webs have portions that are non-planar are also described herein.
METHOD FOR THE PRODUCTION AND FILLING OF AN APPLICATION PACKAGE FOR A LIQUID PHARMACEUTICAL PRODUCT
A method for the production and filling of an application package for a liquid pharmaceutical product. A thermoforming film made of thermoplastics laminated together is heated in order to plasticize the thermoforming film at least in partial areas. The plasticized areas are thermoformed in a mold in order to form a chamber for the liquid pharmaceutical product and a tube-shaped application duct opening into this chamber, with the chamber and the application duct being enclosed by a non-thermoformed, essentially flat bonding area of the thermoforming film. The liquid pharmaceutical product is filled into the chamber, and the chamber and the application duct are sealed by covering the thermoformed and filled thermoforming film with an essentially flat covering film. The covering film is directly bonded to the bonding area of the thermoforming film by thermal ring sealing, enclosing the chamber and the application duct.
