Composite construction for an increased service life
A composite construction, such as, in particular, a composite plate having a sandwich-type construction, has two outer layers which are mutually opposed in parallel and a foam material completely filling the space between the outer layers at least in some regions. The outer layers are interconnected by means of spacers, and the spacers are connected to the outer layers via a cured plastics material.
FLOOR PANEL AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A FLOOR PANEL
A floor panel with a substrate and a decoration provided thereon. The substrate includes at least a foamed layer of thermoplastic material and at least a reinforcement layer. Additionally, a method for manufacturing such floor panels with a substrate and a decoration, where the substrate includes at least a foamed layer of thermoplastic material and at least a reinforcement layer.
Automated manufacturing method and system and in-mold coated plastic article produced thereby
An automated manufacturing method and system and in-mold coated plastic article produced thereby are provided. The system includes a compression mold and a plurality of program-controlled manipulators. An automatic sprayer supported on a first manipulator sprays at least a portion of a mold surface with an in-mold coating composition. An end effector supported on a second manipulator picks up a heated blank of moldable plastic sheet material from an oven and places the heated blank between upper and lower mold halves of the mold. An inner portion of the heated blank is forced into an article-defining cavity of the mold and into contact with at least a portion of the in-mold coating composition. The in-mold coating composition and the inner portion of the heated blank cure and bond to one another so as to form the coated plastic article.
Thermoplastic composite master sheets and tapes and method
Methods and apparatus are provided for the production of thermoplastic composite sheets whose fibers are other than perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the sheet and which are capable of being slit into sheets, strips and/or tapes of custom widths.
Optimized rib-stiffened composite structure
A rib-stiffened composite structure includes a composite face sheet having a continuous reinforcing fiber in a polymer matrix. A polymer core is in a grid pattern disposed on the composite face sheet, the grid pattern having a first series of paths crossing over a second series of paths. Material voids are formed in the spaces between the series of paths. A composite rib-cap is disposed upon an upper surface of the polymer core. The composite rib-cap includes a continuous reinforcing fiber in a polymer matrix. The fibers of the continuous reinforcing fiber of the polymer matrix of the composite rib cap are oriented in a direction along the first and second series of paths of the grid pattern of the extruded polymer core.
Truck, deck gate for truck and method for manufacturing thereof
Disclosed herein is a truck, a deck gate for truck, and a method for manufacturing thereof. According to the present invention, the deck gate for truck has excellent impact strength, low plastic deformation rate, excellent molding property and thermal resistance, and reduces weight. Also, the deck gate for truck according to the present invention reduces weight of about 23% in comparison with a conventional steel and wood type deck gate for truck.
Method of producing fiber-reinforced composite material, resin base material and preform
A production method for a fiber reinforced composite material includes heating a preform formed by laminating a prepreg layer (I) including a reinforcement fiber (A) and a thermosetting resin (B-1) with a resin layer (II) including a thermosetting resin (B-2) and a solid additive (C) to cure the thermosetting resin (B-1) and the thermosetting resin (B-2), the cured resin layer (II′) formed by curing the resin layer (II) having an average thickness of 35 μm or more and 300 μm or less.
MOLDING SUBSTRATE
The present invention relates to a molding substrate capable of realizing an exterior material for a vehicle from which the attached snow or ice is more easily peeled off. As a result of continuing studies by the applicant of the present application, it has been found that the problem that the adhered snow and ice hardly peels off, which occurs on a molding base material provided with a fiber base layer containing a core-sheath type conjugate fiber in which the sheath portion is a polypropylene-based resin and the core portion is a polyester-based resin, can be solved by adjusting the mass percentage of the core-sheath type conjugate fiber occupying the fiber constituting the fiber base material layer. Specifically, the present inventors have provided a molding substrate which can realize an exterior material such as an exterior material for a vehicle from which adhered snow or ice is easily peeled off, by being a molding substrate having a fiber base layer having a mass percentage of more than 70% by mass.
COMPOSITE STRUCTURE
A composite structure (10) including a fiber injection molded portion (14); an insert material (16); and an optional outer layer (12), where the fiber injection molded portion (14) at least partially surrounds the insert material (16). The present teachings also contemplate a method of forming the composite structure (10), including positioning the insert material (16) into a mold and injecting fibers into the mold by a fiber injection molding process or blow molding process.
PROTECTOR FOR THE ENDS OF AN ELONGATE MEMBER
A protective cap (1) is proposed for an end of an elongate member (6), such as a male connecting end of a pipe or tube. The cap (1) comprises a sheath of flexible, resilient (i.e. elastic) material (2) to cover part of the outer surface of the member (6) at an end of the member. The protective cap (1) can be applied to the end of the member by unfurling at least part of the sheath 3 from a gathered configuration, such as a rolled-up configuration. The protective cap (1) includes resilient ridges (8) extending inwardly from an insert member (2), and/or a chip at least partly within the cap.
