LAYERED CONSTRUCTION OF A FIBROUS BODY
A method to produce a fibrous body that includes structures crosslinked in a fluid-permeable manner. The method includes constructing the fibrous body in layers by alternately applying a fiber-matrix material to a layer substrate and fusing each applied layer of the fiber-matrix material. The fiber-matrix material contains a matrix material and a plurality of short fibers and/or fiber particles.
MULTICOMPONENT POLYMER RESIN, METHODS FOR APPLYING THE SAME, AND COMPOSITE LAMINATE STRUCTURE INCLUDING THE SAME
Embodiments disclosed herein relate to polymer resins having a first thermoset and one or more additional components (e.g., a second thermoset and/or a thermoplastic), composite laminates including the same, methods of making and using the same, and composite laminate structures including the same.
COMPOSITE SANDWICH HAVING A HIGH BENDING STIFFNESS
Embodiments described herein relate to a composite structures or sandwiches that may have a relatively high bending stiffness and may have a relatively light weight as well as related methods of use and fabrication of the composite sandwiches. For example, a composite sandwich may include a core structure sandwiched between a two composite skins.
COMPOSITE STRUCTURE EXHIBITING ENERGY ABSORPTION AND/OR INCLUDING A DEFECT FREE SURFACE
Embodiments described herein relate to a composite structures or sandwiches that may have a relatively high bending stiffness and may have a relatively light weight as well as related methods of use and fabrication of the composite sandwiches. For example, a composite sandwich may include a core structure sandwiched between a two composite skins.
Heat pump apparatus
Provided is a heat pump device configured to collect heat both from outside air and another heat source. A controller calculates heat exchange amounts with use of heat exchange performance of each of an air heat-source heat exchanger and an underground heat-source heat exchanger in addition to an outside air temperature and an underground temperature. Then, in switching between a simultaneous operation of causing refrigerant to flow through both of the air heat-source heat exchanger and the underground heat-source heat exchanger and a single operation of selecting the air heat-source heat exchanger or the underground heat-source heat exchanger to cause refrigerant to flow therethrough, the controller selects a heat source having a larger calculated heat exchange amount. In this manner, an appropriate heat source suitable for operation conditions can be selected.
REINFORCED COMPOSITE STRUCTURE
A reinforced composite structure that includes multiple regions of different geometric configurations connected together by a transition region. The reinforced composite structure includes reinforcement fibers on at least a portion of the transition region.
COMPRESSIBLE RESERVOIR FOR LIQUID MEDICAMENT
The present invention relates to a reservoir (10; 30; 40) for a liquid medicament (11), comprising: a first boundary portion (16; 36; 46) and a second boundary portion (18; 38; 48) forming a cavity (12; 32; 42) to receive the medicament, wherein the first boundary portion is sub-stantially opaque and flexible, and wherein the second boundary portion is substantially transparent and rigid.
IMPREGNATION PROCESS FOR A FIBROUS SUBSTRATE, A LIQUID MONOMER SYRUP FOR THE IMPREGNATION PROCESS, ITS METHOD OF POLYMERIZATION AND STRUCTURED ARTICLE OBTAINED THEREOF
The present invention relates to an impregnation process for a fibrous substrate, a liquid composition for implementing this process and the obtained impregnated fibrous substrate. The impregnated fibrous substrate is suitable for manufacturing mechanical or structured parts or articles. In particular the present invention deals with an industrial process for impregnating a fibrous substrate or long fibers with a viscous liquid composition containing mainly methacrylic, vinylic or acrylic components either in form of monomers or polymers. This viscous composition is called hereafter liquid monomer syrup. The invention concerns also a fibrous substrate pre-impregnated with said syrup which is useful for manufacturing mechanical or structured parts or articles. More particular the impregnation of fibrous substrate with the monomer syrup is achieved in a mould. The present invention concerns also manufacturing process for manufacturing mechanical or structured parts or articles and three-dimensional mechanical or structured parts obtained by this process.
Composition and Method to Form a Composite Core Material
A composite core material and methods for making the same are disclosed herein. The composite core material comprises mineral filler discontinuous portions disposed in a continuous encapsulating resin. Further, the method for forming a composite core material comprises the steps of forming a mixture comprising mineral filler, an encapsulating prepolymer, and a polymerization catalyst; disposing the mixture onto a moving belt; and polymerizing said encapsulating prepolymer to form a composite core material comprising mineral filler discontinuous portions disposed in a continuous encapsulating resin.
