Resin line comprised of a corrugated pipe

A resin line is provided with a corrugated pipe that has a wall with individual circumferentially arranged through openings. Sections of the wall are circumferentially closed. The wall has a cross-sectional shape of non-rotational symmetry transverse to a longitudinal center axis and is divided in relation to the cross-sectional shape of non-rotational symmetry into a first part and a second part. The first part has a flattened base extending in a transverse direction transverse to the longitudinal center axis across a length of the corrugated pipe. The second part has an arc shape extending in a direction of height transverse to the longitudinal center axis across the length of the corrugated pipe. The flattened base has a width measured in the transverse direction that is larger than a height of the arc shape measured in the direction of height.

A method for altering polymer properties for the molding of parts comprises exposing, to a scission-causing stressor, a region of a polymer form. The scission-causing stressor is controlled to achieve, in a relatively higher molecular-weight polymer at the region, an amount of scission that results in a reduction in the molecular weight of the relatively higher molecular-weight polymer, thereby forming a relatively lower molecular-weight polymer at the region.

SEMI-AUTOMATED LASER-GUIDED MECHANISM TO APPLY PASTE BEAD IN BONDING PROCESS FOR FABRICATION OF WIND TURBINE BLADES

Devices, systems, and methods of improving paste flow during the manufacture of wind turbine blades are provided. An apparatus for applying adhesive to a composite structure (e.g. wind turbine blade) comprises a paste shoe having a top surface with an aperture to receive a supply of adhesive, and two legs extending downwardly from the top surface and configured to engage a surface of the composite structure to define an interior volume within the paste shoe. A transport mechanism (e.g. wheels, treads) are disposed on each leg to move the paste shoe relative to the composite structure while adhesive is dispensed within the interior volume. A force applicator, applies a force to the paste shoe to maintain a constant interior volume and thus a uniform bead of paste is applied to the composite structure.

Infusion device and method for producing fiber-reinforced composite parts

The invention relates to a method for producing fiber-reinforced composite parts by means of vacuum infusion of a reactive resin mixture, characterized in that the steps of production of the reactive resin mixture and injection into the cavity are carried out in an infusion device in immediate temporal succession.

An automated fiber placement (AFP) and in-situ fiber impregnation system includes a feeder, a resin dispenser, and a compaction roller. The feeder feeds a tow of fiber from a fiber supply toward a forming tool. The resin dispenser deposits resin onto the forming tool in front of the compaction roller. The compaction roller moves over the tow along the forming tool so as to press the tow onto the resin such that the compaction roller impregnates the resin into the tow a direction away from the forming tool via compaction forces immediately after the resin is deposited by the resin dispenser.

CURING MOLD FOR MANUFACTURING A TURBOMACHINE COMPONENT MADE OF COMPOSITE MATERIAL FROM A PREFORM AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING A COMPONENT BY MEANS OF SUCH A MOLD

A curing mold for manufacturing a turbomachine component is made of composite material from a preform, including: a first and a second body defining an air gap receiving the preform; at least one primary channel arranged in the first and/or the second body; an injection member of a pressurized fluid in the primary channels; at least one secondary channel, in which a piston slides, which delimits, on the one hand, a first chamber in communication with the or a primary channel and, on the other hand, a second chamber in communication with the air gap, and which is designed to compress thermosetting resin which has entered the second chamber from the preform in the air gap, so as to put the preform under hydrostatic pressure.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MANUFACTURING AN INTEGRATED HULL BY USING THREE-DIMENSIONAL STRUCTURE TYPE FIBER CLOTHES AND A THREE-DIMENSIONAL VACUUM INFUSION PROCESS

A method for manufacturing an integrated hull by using 3D structure type fiber clothes and 3D vacuum infusion process includes: sequentially stacking at least one first fiber cloth, at least one core material and at least one second fiber cloth on a mold; deploying structural materials on the second fiber cloth; stacking the third fiber clothes to cover the structure materials and a part of the second fiber cloth, whereby the first fiber cloth, the core material, the second fiber cloth and the third fiber clothes are formed to a lamination; determining a pipe arrangement of vacuum pipes and first and second resin pipes; deploying a vacuum bag on the lamination and covering the first and second resin pipes and the vacuum pipe; executing the 3D vacuum infusion process; curing the resin; and executing a mold release process to complete an integrated hull.

LAMINATED COMPOSITE STRUCTURES WITH INTERLAMINAR CORRUGATIONS TO IMPROVE IMPACT DAMAGE RESISTANCE

There is provided a laminated composite structure having improved impact damage resistance and improved strength. The laminated composite structure has a plurality of stacked layers of a composite material. The plurality of stacked layers have one or more interlaminar corrugations formed within the plurality of stacked layers. Each interlaminar corrugation has a substantially sinusoidal shaped profile, and has a depth and a length dependent on a size of the laminated composite structure formed. The laminated composite structure with the one or more interlaminar corrugations has improved strength and improved impact damage resistance at an exposed edge of the laminated composite structure, when the exposed edge is subjected to an impact force.
