Extruder
An extruder has a barrel extending from a feed inlet end to an extruder outlet end. The barrel has an inner surface, an outer surface, and a wall thickness between the inner and outer surfaces. The extruder also has at least one heating member positioned provided on the barrel; a screw drive motor drivingly connected to a rotatably mounted screw positioned within the barrel, whereby the screw is rotatable at various revolutions per minute (RPM); and a controller is operably connected to the screw drive motor to adjust the RPM of the screw based upon a temperature of material passing through and/or being extruded from the barrel. Methods for operating an extruder filling a mold are also provided.
PRINTHEAD DISPENSING DEPOSITION MATERIAL FOR 3D FABRICATION APPARATUS
A printhead a supplying portion with a supplying opening of a filament; a melting portion to melt a filament supplied; a discharging portion having a discharging opening to discharge the melted filament. A heat insulating portion between the supplying portion and the melting portion are integrally formed to effectively suppress heat in the melting portion conducting to the supplying portion even when the melting portion is heated to high temperature, to maintain the temperature of the supplying portion to an appropriate temperature, and to efficiently utilize heat by the melting portion as a result of heating the melting portion.
In-line ultrasonic check for detecting the partial vulcanization of a rubber mixture in the in situ silanization of bright fillers
The invention relates to a method for checking the silanization of pale-colored fillers, where a mixture comprising at least one silanized pale-colored filler, preferably silanized silica, and comprising at least one rubber is irradiated with ultrasound waves in a frequency range of 4 to 10 MHz, preferably of 5 to 7 MHz, and the signal strength of the ultrasound waves is determined after transmission through the rubber mixture, where the relative attenuation coefficient α.sub.rel of the rubber mixture in the frequency range of the ultrasound waves is determined, the standard deviation σ of the relative attenuation coefficient α.sub.rel is determined, and α.sub.rel and σ are used for detection of incipient crosslinking of the rubber mixture.
Plastic and Wood Fiber Based Composite Product and Method and Apparatus for Manufacturing Said Plastic and Wood Fiber Based Composite Product
The present invention relates to a plastic based high density wood fiber composite (HDWFC) product and a method for manufacturing said composite product. The invention also relates to an apparatus for manufacturing said composite product.
Method for manufacturing recycled polymer
A method for manufacturing bulked continuous carpet filament, the method comprising: (1) reducing a chamber pressure within a chamber to below about 5 millibars; (2) after reducing the chamber pressure to below about 5 millibars, providing a polymer melt to the chamber; (3) separating the polymer melt into at least eight streams; (4) while the at least eight streams of the polymer melt are within the chamber, exposing the at least eight streams of the polymer melt to the chamber pressure of below about 5 millibars; (5) after exposing the at least eight streams of the polymer melt to the chamber pressure of below about 5 millibars, recombining the at least eight streams into a single polymer stream; and (6) forming polymer from the single polymer stream into bulked continuous carpet filament.
POWDER COATING COMPOSITION SYSTEM AND PROCESS
A system and process for producing a homogenous extrudate powder coating composition having predetermined properties, the system comprising a color library database that is configured to store one or more input formulation data objects capable of use in controlling the inputs and operation of an electronically controlled homogenous extrudate mixer.
SYSTEM FOR USE IN PRODUCING A POWDER COATING COMPOSITION
A system for producing a homogenous extrudate powder coating composition having predetermined properties, the system comprising a color library database that is configured to store one or more input formulation data objects capable of use in controlling the inputs and operation of an electronically controlled homogenous extrudate mixer.
SELF-CLEANING GRAVIMETRIC AND VOLUMETRIC DOSING APPARATUSES
A self-cleaning dosing apparatus includes a material hopper for containing pellets of material, a feed screw, a first material outlet through which pellets of material fall by gravity onto a first end of the feed screw for the feeding of pellets to a process machine. A second material outlet is located beneath the first end of the feed screw, with a slide gate blocking the second material outlet. A pneumatic piston is provided for pulling the slide gate to unblock the second material outlet, and a Venturi pump is located under the second material outlet for pulling pellets through the second material outlet when the slide gate is opened.
ABNORMALITY DETECTION DEVICE FOR EXTRUSION MOLDING MACHINE
A signal acquisition unit of an abnormality detection device for a twin-screw extrusion molding machine, when the twin-screw extrusion molding machine that melts and kneads a fed resin raw material is in operation, acquires an AE output of an AE sensor installed on a surface of a housing of the twin-screw extrusion molding machine. A determination unit determines whether an abnormality occurs in the twin-screw extrusion molding machine, based on a relationship between the AE output and a first threshold and a second threshold.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MANUFACTURING BULKED CONTINUOUS FILAMENT
A method of manufacturing bulked continuous carpet filament which, in various embodiments, comprises: (A) grinding recycled PET bottles into a group of flakes; (B) washing the flakes; (C) identifying and removing impurities, including impure flakes, from the group of flakes; (D) passing the group of flakes through an MRS extruder while maintaining the pressure within the MRS portion of the MRS extruder below about 1.5 millibars; (E) passing the resulting polymer melt through at least one filter having a micron rating of less than about 50 microns; and (F) forming the recycled polymer into bulked continuous carpet filament that consists essentially of recycled PET.
