Methods for manufacturing bulked continuous filament from colored recycled PET
A method of manufacturing bulked continuous carpet filament which, in various embodiments, comprises: (A) grinding recycled PET bottles into a group of flakes; (B) washing the flakes; (C) identifying and removing impurities, including impure flakes, from the group of flakes; (D) adding one or more color concentrates to the flakes; (E) passing the group of flakes through an extrusion system while maintaining the pressure within the extrusion system below about 25 millibars; (F) passing the resulting polymer melt through at least one filter having a micron rating of less than about 50 microns; and (G) forming the recycled polymer into bulked continuous carpet filament that consists essentially of recycled PET.
Extruder device
A secure extruder device includes a material delivery channel, a nozzle part, a parameter part, a thermal-control part, a material auto-destruction module and/or a parameter auto-destruction module. The material delivery channel is assembled with an extrusion part. The nozzle part is connected to the material delivery channel for ejecting material in the material delivery channel out. The parameter part provides parameters for a printing task to a microcontroller. The thermal-control part heats the nozzle part according to the parameters for the printing task. The material auto-destruction module destroys the material delivery channel after the printing task is completed. The parameter auto-destruction module destroys the parameters for the printing task after the printing task is completed. The microcontroller controls the extrusion part based on the parameters for the printing task so that the extrusion part delivers the material disposed inside the material delivery channel to the nozzle part.
FILMS FOR PACKAGING OF FOODSTUFFS
Some embodiments provide a composite active flexible polymeric film. In some embodiments, the film is used for containers containing acidic material. In some embodiments, the film generates carbon dioxide gas when in contact with the acidic material to settle in the headspace of the container.
Device and method for continuously extruding tubing having different materials
A co-injection extrusion apparatus and method. The first extruder cooperates with a first material delivery channel for delivering a first material to a die. The second extruder cooperates with a second material delivery channel for delivering a second material to a die. A first plunger is positioned in the first material delivery channel and a second plunger is positioned in the second material delivery channel. The plungers are movable between a first position in which to the plunger is extended in a respective material delivery channel toward the die, and a second position in which the plunger is retracted in the respective material delivery channel away from the die.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR EXTRUDING COMPOSITE FILAMENT
A method of extruding filament comprises the steps of cutting a bulk source material into pieces having size S.sub.1, performing a first extrusion pass comprising the steps of melting the pieces in an extruding device at a temperature T.sub.1 and extruding a first filament at an extrusion speed V.sub.1, and performing at least one additional extrusion pass k comprising the steps of cutting the first filament into pieces having size S.sub.k, melting the pieces in an extruding device at temperature T.sub.k, and extruding a final filament at an extrusion speed V.sub.k. A system for extruding filament is also described.
INSTALLATION FOR PRODUCING A POLYMER MELT AND USE OF SUCH AN INSTALLATION FOR PRODUCING A POLYMER MELT FOR A POROUS FILM
An installation for producing a polymer melt for a porous film, in particular for a membrane film, comprises a planetary roller extruder. Said extruder is used to produce a flowable polymer melt from thermoplastics. The planetary roller extruder has a filling opening and a discharge side for delivering the polymer melt. A melt pump is further provided. The discharge side of the planetary roller extruder is connected to a downstream inlet side of the melt pump for further conveying the polymer melt. The connection is in the form of a pressure channel shielded from the ambient atmosphere or a pressure line shielded from the ambient atmosphere. The planetary roller extruder and the melt pump are designed and/or can be driven in such a manner that the polymer melt is applied or can be transferred under pressure at the melt pump on the inlet side.
Extrusion coated barrier film
The present development is an extrusion coated barrier film with perforated holes for breathability and a moisture vapor barrier. More specifically, the coated barrier material comprises biaxially oriented nylon film extrusion coated with a blend of an acid copolymer and at least one block copolymer material made up of rigid polyamide blocks and soft polyether blocks. The extrusion coated barrier film can be thermally laminated to expanded polystyrene (EPS) foam boards, which can be used as housewrap, roofing underlayment, or in other construction materials.
EXTRUDER SYSTEM
An improved extruder apparatus is disclosed and which includes a cylindrical barrel having a feed end and a discharge end, the feed end having an inlet in fluid communication with a hopper. The extruder screw is mounted in the cylindrical barrel, and the screw has an outer surface having one or more helical flights mounted thereon. wherein the inlet end of the cylindrical barrel has a support frame mounted thereto, wherein an upper surface of the support frame is connected to a throat of a hopper, wherein an insert is mounted to the support frame and has a lower end which extends down into the cylindrical barrel, wherein the insert has an internal passageway having a first opening on the lower end and a second opening upstream of the screw for relieving the pressure.
FILM, FILM MANUFACTURING METHOD, LAMINATED BODY, AND PACKAGING MATERIAL
