Nozzle For Reduced Outward Force On Preform Finish
A nozzle is provided for engaging with lightweight preforms for blow-molding the preforms into plastic containers without damaging the finish portion of the preforms. The nozzle includes a seal configured to engage with a stepped interior of the finish portion and enables stretching and/or blow-molding the preform into a container. The seal tightly engages a smooth surface inside the finish portion without damaging the surface or a sidewall of the finish portion. In some embodiments, the seal includes a profile shape that mates with a transitional surface comprising the stepped interior of the finish portion. The profile shape distributes the contact force of the seal over a maximal area of the transition surface so as to minimize the total pressure exerted onto the finish portion. The profile shape reduces potential cracking of a thin-walled region of the finish portion during stretching and/or blow-molding the preform to form the container.
PRESSURE BALANCING NOZZLE FOR BLOW-MOLDING CONTAINER PREFORM
A nozzle is provided for engaging lightweight preforms for blow-molding the preforms into plastic containers without damaging the finish portion of the preforms. The nozzle includes a cylindrical portion to be advanced longitudinally inside the finish portion of a preform. The cylindrical portion engages an interior seal with a shelf comprising a stepped interior of the finish portion or includes a tapered tip to tightly engage a transition surface of the stepped interior of the finish portion. An exterior cylinder extends over an exterior of the finish portion and engages an exterior seal with a tamper evidence ledge of the finish portion to eliminate pressure across a thin-walled region of the finish portion during forming the preform into a container. In some embodiments, the exterior cylinder comprises a shroud that counteracts outward forces on the finish portion to reduce instances of cracking of the finish portion during forming plastic containers.
CONTAINER, PREFORM ASSEMBLY AND METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR FORMING CONTAINERS
Container comprising an inner container and an outer container with facing surfaces, wherein at least part of at least one of the facing surfaces has a surface roughness higher than about 0.1 Ra and/or wherein the difference in roughness of said facing surfaces is at least over a part more than about 0.1 Ra.
NOZZLE FOR BLOW-MOLDING STEPPED FINISH PREFORM
An apparatus for a nozzle is provided for engaging with lightweight preforms for blow-molding the preforms into plastic containers without damaging the finish portion of the preforms. The nozzle comprises a first cylindrical portion including a first seal, a second cylindrical portion including a second seal, and a tapered portion between the first and second cylindrical portions. The first and second cylindrical portions include diameters that are less than respective diameters of interior surfaces within the finish portion. The first and second seals are disposed around respective circumferences of the first and second cylindrical portions and configured to tightly engage with the interior surfaces of the preform while maintaining clearance between the nozzle and the interior of the finish portion. In some embodiments, the seals are configured to stabilize an orientation of the preform after being pressed onto the nozzle and facilitate conveying the preform along a manufacturing line.
CONTAINER FOR BEVERAGES AND CORRESPONDING PRODUCTION METHOD
A set of preforms to make a container for beverages comprises an external preform and an internal preform, each intended to form respectively an external keg and an internal bag of the container. The internal preform is associated internally with the external preform so as to define with the external preform a hollow space and also has at least one through hole, made in a neck portion thereof.
Tapping assembly and connecting device; container and method for beverage dispensing
Tapping assembly for a beverage, including container including a first and second container, wherein the first container has a neck portion and the second container is suspended in the first container, from the neck portion thereof. A neck region of the container is provided with at least one opening in a side wall thereof, preferably in a neck region of the first container, opening into a space between the first and second containers. The assembly further includes a connecting device, connected or connectable to the neck portion, wherein the connecting device includes at least one connecting element for connecting to the at least one opening, wherein the connecting element is connected to a source of pressurised gas.
HOT FILL CONTAINER HAVING SUPERIOR CRUSH RESISTANCE
A hot fill plastic container has a dome portion with a convex outer surface that defines a maximum outer diameter of the container so as to extend outwardly beyond a main body portion of the container. The generally egg-shaped dome portion enhances the crush resistance of the dome and provides a point of contact between containers when they are placed adjacent to one another. A circumferential stiffening groove may be provided near a lower end of the dome portion.
SET OF PREFORMS FOR MAKING A CONTAINER, CONTAINER AND METHOD
A set of preforms to make a container for beverages, comprising an external preform and an internal preform, each intended to form respectively an external keg and an internal bag of the container. The internal preform is associated internally with the external preform in order to define with the external preform a hollow space. The external preform and the internal preform have respective coupling members suitable to clamp the external preform and the internal preform with respect to each other in a desired reciprocal position.
Bottle with extended neck finish and method of making same
A blow molded synthetic resin bottle has a body and an elongated neck with the body providing a shoulder extending about the base of the neck. The neck has a first collar extending thereabout spaced adjacent the shoulder and at least one additional collar extending thereabout adjacent the upper end of the neck. The resin in the neck is substantially unoriented. To produce the bottle, a synthetic resin preform is injection molded with a generally tubular body and the elongated neck. This preform is placed in a blow mold cavity having a body receiving portion and a neck receiving portion that has a recess extending thereabout seating the first collar therein. The additional collar is disposed outwardly of the mold cavity and is disposed on the upper surface of the mold.
STACKABLE HOLLOW PLASTIC CONTAINER
A stackable plastic container includes a neck area; a body portion with a base; an integral handle part located around the neck area of the container, in which the handle part includes one or more handles for carrying and handling the container; and an integral first chime configured to receive and/or cooperatively engage the base of an identical container.
