Methods for forming a retreaded tire

The invention includes methods for forming a retreaded tire, and treads there for. Particular embodiments of such methods provide a tire tread, the tire tread having a bottom side and a top side configured for engaging a ground surface, a thickness extending between the top side and the bottom side, and a pair of opposing lateral sides defining a width of the tread, the bottom side having one or more submerged voids extending from the bottom side into the tread thickness to form a tread pattern, the submerged voids having a depth less than the thickness and the top side being free of any exposed voids comprising a groove. Further steps include applying the tire tread to a tire carcass, curing the tire tread to the tire carcass, and forming one or more voids into the tread thickness the top side of the tread after the step of bonding.

Method for retreading a tire casing

A method for retreading a tire casing is disclosed herein. The method includes a tread is disposed on a casing carcass with a bonding layer being interposed in between, and a strip is tensioned through several circuits on the tread. Also disclosed herein is a tire employing the a method of retreading disclosed herein.

Method of applying a post cure laminate to a tire

A method of applying a laminate to a tire includes pre-treating a portion of the tire and placing the laminate on at least the pre-treated portion of the tire. The method further includes placing an electrical heating element on top of the laminate and placing a pressure element over the electrical heating element and the laminate. The method also includes applying heat and pressure to the laminate using the electrical heating element and the pressure element to permanently adhere the laminate to the tire.

Retreaded tire treads having improved submerged voids and methods for forming the same

The invention includes methods for forming a retreaded tire and treads there for. Particular embodiments of such methods include providing a tire carcass configured to receive a tire tread along an annular tread-receiving area and a pre-formed tread comprising a tread body and a submerged void arranged along a bottom side of the tread and extending into the tread thickness to a top end located below the top side of the tread, the submerged void having a length and an opening arranged along the bottom side when the tread is in an uninstalled configuration, where the opening of the submerged void extends in a direction of the submerged groove length along an alternating, non-linear path. Further steps include assembling a retreaded tire by arranging the tire tread atop a bonding layer arranged between the tire tread and the tire carcass and comprising uncured bonding material.

Tire cold retreading method

A method for the cold retreading of a tire comprising the following steps: a removal step, during which the tread is removed from the tire in order to expose an equatorial surface of a casing of the tire; a deposition step, during which a cushion and a pre-cured tread strip provided with a tread pattern are deposited around the equatorial surface of the casing; and a curing step, wherein the cushion arranged between the casing and the pre-cured tread strip is cured. The cushion is manufactured with a compound comprising 1 to 30 phr of at least one conductive material having a specific surface area which is greater than or equal to 300 m.sup.2/g and is chosen among graphite and graphene. The curing step comprises a connection step, wherein said cushion is connected to a heat/power source.
