Expandable sheath
An expandable sheath is disclosed herein, which has a first polymeric layer and a braided layer positioned radially outward of the first polymeric layer. The braided layer includes a plurality of filaments braided together. The expandable sheaths further include a resilient elastic layer positioned radially outward of the braided layer. The elastic layer is configured to apply radial force to the braided layer and the first polymeric layer. The expandable sheath further includes a second polymeric layer positioned radially outward of the elastic layer and bonded to the first polymeric layer such that the braided layer and the elastic layer are encapsulated between the first and second polymeric layers. Methods of making and using the devices disclosed herein are also disclosed, as are crimping devices that may be used in methods of making the devices disclosed herein.
Method of making convoluted coated braided hose assembly
A seamless convoluted hose assembly. The assembly includes: a tubular inner liner having an outer surface, an inner surface, and an inner liner wall therebetween which defines a passageway. The assembly further includes a helical coil or a plurality of annular loops which produce convolutions in the outer surface of the tubular liner when the tubular inner liner is forced through the helical coil or plurality of loops under heat and pressure.
Method of Manufacturing Aircraft Engine Parts Utilizing Reusable And Reconfigurable Smart Memory Polymer Mandrel
A manufacturing process for making aircraft engine parts utilizes reusable reconfigurable smart memory polymer mandrel tooling, low temperature metal deposition, and composite part lay-up with resin coated conformable braided carbon fiber sleeves, to fabricate both metal internal engine parts and non-metal external parts for turbine engines.
Hose with Rubber and Plastic
A hose is provided comprising a rubber backing layer directly bonded to a continuous polyamide layer without an intervening adhesive layer, wherein the hose exhibits increased low and high temperature capability and decreased permeation compared to standard automotive refrigerant hoses.
Method of Positioning a Braided Fibre Sleeve
A method of positioning a braided fibre sleeve relative to a tool surface, the braided fibre sleeve comprising a longitudinal axis and biaxially oriented tows arranged at acute angles relative to the longitudinal axis, the method comprising; applying tension to a plurality of axial threads disposed along the longitudinal axis, such tension forming a tensioned braided fibre sleeve; positioning the tensioned braided fibre sleeve relative to a tool surface; and releasing tension on the plurality of axial threads.
CONTINUOUS BIAS PATTERN FABRIC
Techniques are directed to providing a carbon composite product. Such techniques involve providing a bias pattern fabric that extends from a starting side along a run direction, the bias pattern fabric including carbon fiber threads oriented diagonally relative to the run direction. Such techniques further involve impregnating the bias pattern fabric with resinous material to form a run of prepreg material. Such techniques further involve cutting the run of prepreg material lengthwise to the run direction to form multiple tapes.
CATHETER
A catheter includes: a catheter shaft; and a hub on a proximal side of the catheter shaft. The catheter shaft includes a shaft inner surface inclined portion at a proximal portion, the diameter of which increases proximally such that the shaft inner surface inclined portion forms an angle with the catheter central axis. The hub includes a first hub inner surface inclined portion continuous from the shaft inner surface inclined portion and inclined at the same inclination angle as the shaft inner surface inclined portion, and a second hub inner surface inclined portion proximal of the first hub inner surface inclined portion. The second hub inner surface inclined portion inclination angle differs from the first hub inner surface inclined portion inclination angle. The hub does not cover an inner peripheral surface of the catheter shaft in an interlock portion in which the catheter shaft and the hub are interlocked together.
Connection method for a braided hose
A method is provided for connecting a tubular structural element to a braided hose. The method includes placing the braided hose in the tubular structural element, placing a blow hose in the braided hose and applying internal pressure to expand the braided hose into contact with the tubular structural member. Heat then is applied to cure an adhesion promoter to achieve a positive materially integral connection of the braided profile to the tubular structural member.
Method for Producing a Fiber-Reinforced Plastic Component
A method is provided for producing a fiber-reinforced plastic component, in particular for use in a motor vehicle. The method includes the acts of: providing a blow-molded hollow core, forming the fiber-reinforced plastic component on the hollow core; inserting an end of the hollow core between a first roller and a first counter element, and drawing the hollow core from the plastic component by rotationally driving the first roller.
Carbon Fiber Watch Case, Method for Preparing Carbon Fiber Watch Case, and Smartwatch
A carbon fiber watch case includes a main body structure and a conductive structure. The main body structure has an inner surface and an outer surface. The conductive structure has a first contact on the inner surface and a second contact on the outer surface to electrically connect the inner surface and the outer surface of the carbon fiber watch case. The main body structure includes a braided body and a polymer body. The braided body includes a carbon fiber, and the braided body has a network-like structure. The polymer body at least fills a gap of the network-like structure of the braided body so that the braided body and the conductive structure form an integrated structure.
