COMPOSITION FOR ENHANCING BREAST MILK COMPONENT
Provided is a composition that may be used for a specific use application, such as a composition for enhancing a breast milk component. A composition containing a bacterium of the genus Bifidobacterium as an active ingredient is described.
WELLBEING SUPPLEMENT FOR POSTPARTUM MATERNAL NUTRITION
The present disclosure relates generally to methods and nutritional compositions for promoting or maintaining postpartum maternal health. The nutritional composition can include sialyllactose, a source of long chain polyunsaturated fatty acids (LCPUFAs), a probiotic, such as Lactobacillus rhamnosus GG (LGG), a nut extract, turmeric, fenugreek calcium and/or vitamin D. The nutritional composition is suitable for administration to postpartum mothers. Additionally, the disclosure provides methods for preventing or reducing the severity of postpartum depression and/or anxiety. The nutritional composition(s) provided herein can comprise various combinations of ingredients that provide additive and or/synergistic beneficial health effects to postpartum mothers.
Nutritional Composition, Food/Drink Composition Using Nutritional Composition, and Modified Milk Powder Using Nutritional Composition
Provided is a technique that makes it possible to promote proliferation of probiotics having a low ability to assimilate human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs), in the presence of HMOs. Also provided is a nutritional composition containing bacteria belonging to Bifidobacterium bifidum, one or more types of probiotics having a low ability to assimilate human milk oligosaccharides, and human milk oligosaccharides. The nutritional composition according to the present technology may be suitably used for foods/drinks, medicines, quasi-drugs, feeds, and the like.
STABLE AQUEOUS COMPOSITION FOR PRETERM TO PROMOTE EARLY POSTNAL GROWTH
The present invention concerns a stable aqueous composition comprising at least one human milk oligosaccharide for use in use in promoting postnatal growth in preterm infants as early as 3 weeks after supplementation, wherein the composition is given as soon as possible after birth.
SPRAY-DRIED COMPOSITION COMPRISING BETA-GALACTOSIDASE HAVING TRANSGALACTOSYLATING ACTIVITY IN COMBINATION WITH MALTODEXTRIN AND/OR NACL AND APPLICATION OF THE COMPOSITION
A spray-dried composition comprising an enzyme which is a -galactosidase having transgalactosylating activity and a maltodextrin and/or sodium chloride.
ACTIVATION OF CONDITIONALLY-EXPRESSED OLIGOSACCHARIDE PATHWAYS DURING FERMENTATION OF PROBIOTIC STRAINS
This invention relates generally to methods and compositions to achieve and maintain a desirable in vivo phenotype during fermentation and processing of food products for human or animal consumption. The methods and compositions of this invention require an activator that acts as a metabolic trigger for Mammalian Milk Oligosaccharide (MMO) consumption phenotype without necessarily requiring oligosaccharides (i.e a sugar polymer of 3 or more monosaccharides) within the fermentation medium. Compositions containing a non-oligosaccharide activator (e.g. monomers and dimers, and combinations thereof) may be used in fermentation processes of this invention. Turning on MMO-related genes without the use of oligosaccharides is one method of preparing activated commensal bacteria. Embodiments of this invention relate to a composition and a method for preparing a stable, activated and dormant form of commensal bacteria such as: bifidobacteria, lactobacilli or pediococci; for consumption by animals or humans, who are nursing or otherwise receiving MMOs as part of their diet.
NUTRITIONAL COMPOSITION
A nutritional composition comprising the human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs) 2-fucosyllactose (2FL), 3-fucosyl-lactose (3FL), 3-sialyllactose (3SL), and lacto-N-neotetraose (LNnT). The nutritional composition is useful for treating or preventing disorders associated with an above-normal number of granulocytes in a tissue. For example, the combinations may have utility in preventing or treating eosinophilic gastrointestinal diseases.
METHOD OF GENERATING A SACCHARIDE CONTAINING A GALACTOSE AND A FRUCTOSE MOIETY EMPLOYING ENZYME WITH TRANSGALACTOSYLATING ACTIVITY
A method of generating a saccharide, especially lactulose or lactosucrose, in the presence of a transgalactosylase enzyme, is described herein.
Human milk oligosaccharides to ameliorate symptoms of stress
A nutritional composition comprising at least one human milk oligosaccharide selected from 6 sialyllactose, lacto-N-neotetraose, lacto-N-tetraose, disialylated lacto-N-tetraose, 3-fucosyllactose, and 3-sialyllactose. The nutritional composition is used in a method of reducing stress in an individual in need thereof.
A METHOD OF INHIBITING ISOMERIZATION OF A REDUCING SACCHARIDE UPON THERMAL TREATMENT
Disclosed is a method of inhibiting isomerization of a reducing saccharide in an aqueous solution containing said reducing saccharide upon thermal treatment of said aqueous saccharide solution by acidifying the aqueous saccharide solution prior to its thermal treatment, and the use of the thermally treated aqueous solution containing said reducing saccharide for producing a biological product.
