POLYMERIC FILMS AND BAGS
20190225380 · 2019-07-25 ·

The present invention is directed to a method of incrementally stretching polymeric film formed from a blown film extrusion process. The present invention is further directed to a polymeric bag formed from an incrementally stretched polymeric film. The incremental stretching is performed on a collapsed polymeric bubble via a pair of intermeshing rollers. The incrementally stretched polymeric film may be stretched only along a portion of its width. The polymeric bag may be a drawstring trash bag with an extended hem where only the extended hem of the bag or the body of the bag comprises incrementally stretched polymeric film.

A fitment mounting apparatus for mounting a hold open fitment to flexible packaging, wherein the hold open fitment has a flexible configuration variable between a first un-distended shape and a second stably distended shape, including a frame forming a holder configured for holding more than one of the hold open fitments within the holder, a flexible packaging positioning system arranged for positioning flexible packaging for mounting the hold open fitment to the flexible packaging, and an applicator coupled to the frame configured to engage at least one edge of the hold open fitment in the holder and bias the at least one edge so that the hold open fitment is singulated, from others of the more than one hold open fitments in the holder, and issued from the holder into the flexible packaging on the flexible packaging positioning system substantially simultaneous with singulation.

MULTI-FILM THERMOPLASTIC BAGS HAVING CONTACT AREAS

One or more implementations of a multi-film thermoplastic bag with a grab zone of contact areas positioned in a high-touch area of the bag. For example, the multi-film thermoplastic bag includes one or more regions of a first film in contact with a second film at one or more contact areas. The grab zone regions of one or more contact areas are located in visible and high-touch areas to provide visual and tactile cues of strength and durability. Moreover, the grab zone regions of one or more contact areas serve to distribute pull and lift forces across a wider area in order to avoid common failures in high-touch areas such as over stretching, punctures, tears, and rips.

Multi-film thermoplastic structures and bags having visually-distinct contact areas and methods of making the same

One or more implementations of a multi-film thermoplastic structure include a first film having a first appearance in contact with a second film having a second appearance at one or more visually-distinct contact areas. Wherein the one or more visually-distinct contact areas, cause the first film to take on the second appearance of the second film. The visually-distinct contact areas being of a uniform gauge and configured to separate before either of the first film or the second film fails when subjected to peel forces.

THERMOPLASTIC FILMS AND BAGS WITH ENHANCED ODOR CONTROL AND METHODS OF MAKING THE SAME

A multi-layer thermoplastic film includes a first film of thermoplastic material, a second film of thermoplastic material bonded to the first film, and an odor control component disposed between the first film and the second film. A method of manufacturing a multi-layer thermoplastic film coextruding a plurality of layers to form a first film, coextruding a plurality of layers to form a second film, disposing at least one odor control component on at least one of the first film and the second film, and bonding the first and second films together such that the at least one substance is disposed between the first film and the second film.

Disclosed are example embodiments of a waste collection bag. The waste collection bag includes a body with an opening at one end. The waste collection bag also includes a plurality of compartments formed within said body. Each compartment is sized and shaped to receive a user's finger(s), thereby defining separate finger areas within the bag to facilitate gripping and manipulation of the bag. The compartments are formed by a sealed area extending partway up from a closed edge opposite the opening.
