FLEXIBLE CONTAINER AND PROCESS FOR INSTALLATION OF FITMENT IN SAME
A flexible container formed of flexible web material is provided. The container includes four panels forming: a body portion; a neck portion; a flare portion extending from the neck portion; and a tapered transition portion between the body and neck portions; wherein the neck portion has a reduced width and the flare portion has an expanded end. Also disclosed is a method of forming the aforementioned container comprising steps of: biasing the expanded end to define a circumference; moving, via a mandrel comprising a groove, the fitment within the circumference and through the expanded end to a first position in the neck; transversely cutting away the expanded end by advancing preferably v-shaped blades through the neck and into the groove preferably without rotation of the mandrel, container, or blades; moving the fitment to a second position in the neck; and sealing the neck to the fitment.
Ultrasonic welding systems and methods using dual, synchronized horns on opposite sides of parts to be joined
An ultrasonic system and method for sealing a complex interface, such as a Gable top, having multiple and a variety of layers across the interface, or an oval or round spout having a complex geometry. The system includes two ultrasonic horns arranged opposite a gap between which the interface is provided. The frequency and phase of the ultrasonic energy are synchronized as the energy is applied simultaneously while the interface is pressed between a jaw and the energy is applied to both sides of the interface. Only one application of the frequency- and phase-synchronized ultrasonic energy is required to hermetically seal all the layers of the interface together.
TUBE CLOSURE
A tube closure (1001) has a valve (102) having a first section (116), a second section (118) and a crease initiation region (120) between the first and second sections, the crease initiation region being configured to initiate a crease upon relative rotation of the first and section sections to close selectively close the tube closure.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING INTERMEDIATE MATERIAL FOR SOFT PACKAGING CONTAINER, METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SOFT PACKAGING CONTAINER, AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SOFT PACKAGING CONTAINER PACKAGING BODY
A method for manufacturing an intermediate material for a soft packaging container according to the present invention includes: a first overlaying step P1 of laying a second raw film sheet 120 over a first raw film sheet 110; a confining portion forming step P2 of forming a filler confining portion 50 for confining a filler 59, the filler confining portion 50 being constituted by a non-joined region between the first raw film sheet 110 and the second raw sheet 12, by joining a portion of the first raw film sheet 110 and a portion of the second sheet 12 to each other; a folding step P4 of folding the first raw film sheet 110 and the second sheet 12 with the first raw film sheet 110 on an outer side, such that the filler confining portion 50 is present in a state where an inner portion thereof is continuous on two sides that are connected via at least one folding position; an accommodating portion forming step P5 of forming an accommodating portion 60 by joining a plurality of portions including at least one of the first raw film sheet 110 and the second sheet 12; and a cutting step P6 of forming an intermediate material A1 for a soft packaging container by cutting at least the first raw film sheet 110. This configuration makes it possible to more readily and reliably manufacture a soft packaging container that has a filler confining portion in more regions.
Tool for HF welding, installation for producing a bag for medical purposes and method for operating such an installation
A system and method for producing a medical bag with an HF welder that uses upper and lower dies each having a plurality of electrode lamellae arranged such that they are alternatingly polarized relative to adjacent lamellae and opposing lamellae. Interspersed dielectric materials may be used to impart contours onto the film material to produce a patterned bag.
LINER FOR BEVERAGE AND FOOD VESSELS
A liner for use with a fluid dispensing vessel. The liner includes a flexible pouch defining an interior region and configured to be placed in a fluid dispensing vessel. The pouch includes a top end that is partially sealed and that includes a first opening. The pouch includes a fluid passageway defined by at least two sealed boundaries and that leads from the opening to the interior region. The pouch includes a bottom end that includes a second opening. The liner includes a fluid dispensing fitment connected to the pouch and configured to be in fluid communication with interior region via the second opening. When fluid is poured into the interior region of the pouch through the opening, it can be dispensed from the pouch through the fitment.
Device and method for attachment of an opening device on a flexible package
A device and a method for attaching a resealable opening device (2) on a package (1), the device comprising an attachment unit (100) having at least one carrier member (101) being movable between a pick-up position and an attachment position, in which latter the carrier member (101) is arranged for attachment of the opening device on the package by means of relative movement between the carrier member and the package. The device further comprises an abutment (113) and a knife arrangement (112), wherein the at least one carrier member, in said pick-up position, is arranged for relative movement towards the abutment for engagement with a web (12) of interconnected opening devices arranged therebetween and for pick-up of one opening device; and wherein the knife arrangement is arranged to cooperate with the carrier member and the abutment or cutting out the opening device during the engagement of the carrier member with the web.
Container with spout and manufacturing method therefor
The spout-equipped container includes a container and a spout. The spout includes a spout main body, an opening body accommodated in a cylinder of the spout main body, an activating body which moves the opening body, and a hermetically-sealing sheet which covers an inner opening which fronts an accommodating unit in the spout main body. The opening body is formed so as not to be get out of the spout main body, is formed so as to move toward the hermetically-sealing sheet, and has its center where a spout through hole is formed. The hermetically-sealing sheet is formed so as to be partially torn by the opening body to make the accommodating unit of the container and an outer opening of the spout main body communicate with outside via the spout through hole of the opening body, and is formed so that an accommodated substance is poured outside.
Plastic bag making apparatus
An apparatus to successively make plastic bags, each of which includes an end surface provided with a spout, by employing the general feeding way of panel material, to be simple in structure, low in cost, high in speed, and to make it possible to successively make the plastic bags two by two. A folded portion is formed in a first web of panel material, an aperture is formed in a web of end surface material, a spout is inserted into the aperture, the spout and the web of end surface material being heat sealed with each other. The web of end surface material and the folded portion are heat sealed with each other while the web of end surface material and a second web of panel material are heat sealed with each other about the spout.
Method and system for manufacturing medical pouches
The invention relates to a system for manufacturing medical pouches and a method for manufacturing medical pouches in a system, said pouch being made from two layers of plastic film and at least one component per pouch, the system comprising a group of positioning aids for the components as well as a group of supports for the positioning aids, the positioning aids being supported on the supports which are conveyed in an endless path with the aid of a guiding mechanism, the system further comprising a component application station designed to bring a component, which has been introduced into the station by a positioning aid with the aid of a support, into a joining connection with the plastic film. The invention is characterized in that on the endless path, the supports are alternately guided first along a process run and then along a return run; the supports are placed at a certain distance from one another in the process run, are accelerated to increase the distance therebetween when the supports travel along the return run, and are decelerated to reduce the distance therebetween again when the supports intermittently travel along the process run. As a result, the system requires fewer product-specific parts.
