FILMS AND BAGS HAVING LOW-FORCE EXTENSION PATTERNS

A thermoplastic film which exhibits elastic-like behavior along at least one axis when stretched or elongated and then released. The thermoplastic film comprises a plurality of raised rib-like elements extending in a direction perpendicular to a main surface of the thermoplastic film. The thermoplastic film further includes a plurality of web areas positioned about the plurality of raised rib-like elements. The plurality of raised rib-like elements and plurality of web areas are arranged in a complex pattern. The complex pattern provides visual and tactile cues as the films are stretched or elongated. The complex pattern can cause the thermoplastic film to have a low force extension.

FILMS AND BAGS WITH BILLOW POCKETS FOR CAPTURING LIQUIDS

A multiple-ply thermoplastic film which exhibits elastic-like behavior along at least one axis when stretched or elongated and then released. The complex pattern, when stretched or elongated and then released, can cause areas of billowing and delamination between plies of the multiple-ply thermoplastic film. The resulting billowed and delaminated areas form billow pockets for capturing liquids that can capture liquids when one of the plies is punctured.

METHOD FOR MAKING WINDOWED PACKAGING MATERIAL

A method is disclosed for forming a windowed packaging material. According to the method a web of packaging material is cut in substantially the machine direction along a non-linear path. The cutting action provides two subwebs, each having protruding edge portions and recessed edge portions. The two subwebs are displaced relative to one another so that the protruding edge portions face one another. In this configuration opposing recessed edge portions form windows. The two subwebs are adhered to one another at the opposing protruding edge portions. The resulting windows may be covered with a material that is transparent and/or breathable. A strip of handle material may be applied spanning the respective windows.

THERMOPLASTIC BAGS WITH COMPLEX STRETCH PATTERNS

A thermoplastic film which exhibits elastic-like behavior along at least one axis when stretched or elongated and then released. The thermoplastic film comprises a plurality of raised rib-like elements extending in a direction perpendicular to a main surface of the thermoplastic film. The thermoplastic film further includes a plurality of web areas positioned about the plurality of raised rib-like elements. The plurality of raised rib-like elements and plurality of web areas are arranged in a complex pattern. The complex pattern provides visual and tactile cues as the films are stretched or elongated. The complex pattern can cause the thermoplastic film to have a complex stretch profile.

The invention relates to a bag (10) comprising a front wall (11) and a back wall (12) arranged parallel to the front wall (11), a bottom (13) that can be folded into the plane of the walls (11, 12), such that a filling chamber (14) results that is open on one side, and a pair of carrying handles (31) that is attached on the front wall (11) and the back wall (12). According to the invention, the pair of carrying handles (31) comprises a folding line (15) in the filling space (14), such that the pair of carrying handles (31) can be brought into a usage position (1) and in a rest position (2), wherein in the rest position (2) the pair of carrying handles (31) is entirely folded back inside the filling chamber (14) and in the usage position (1) the pair of carrying handles (31) protrudes at least in certain areas from the filling space (14).

THERMOPLASTIC BAGS WITH ENHANCED DART IMPACT RESISTANCE
20250001721 · 2025-01-02 ·

The present disclosure relates to thermoplastic bags with enhanced dart impact resistance. In particular, in one or more embodiments, the disclosed thermoplastic bags include a first sidewall and a second sidewall joined together along a first side edge, a second side edge, and a bottom edge, while having an opening opposite the bottom edge. Furthermore, in some embodiments, the disclosed thermoplastic bags have a pattern of raised rib-like elements and web areas formed in the first sidewall. In one or more embodiments, the pattern of raised rib-like elements and web areas comprises a first motif of deformations that repeats in the pattern and a second motif of deformations interspersed with the first motif of deformations within the pattern. In one or more embodiments, the web areas lack sharp corners. The interspersed motifs and/or the lack of sharp corners can serve to increase dart impact resistance of the thermoplastic bags.

METHOD OF MAKING PACKAGE WITH INTEGRATED HANDLE ON SIDE GUSSET AND A PACKAGE THEREOF
20170129677 · 2017-05-11 ·

A method (100) of making an integrated handle (304) on at least one side gusset (308) of a flexible package (300) is provided. The method (100) includes steps of sealing a handle patch (222) on at least one half width of the side gusset laminate (218). Further, the method (100) provides parallel openings on the handle patch (222) such that a centre line of the two parallel openings coincides with centre lines of each half of the side gusset laminate (218). A cover patch (226) is sealed over the handle patch (222) overlapping the edges of the handle patch (222) and simultaneously with the side gusset laminate (218) all around, such that a predefined area is left unsealed between the two parallel openings. The longitudinal edges of the side gusset laminate (218) are folded such that the handle patch (222) comes on the outer surface of the continuous open tube (242) being formed. The continuous open tube (242) is thereby used for manufacturing the flexible package (300).
