Embossing device and method
An embossing device (1) includes three embossing rollers (5, 7, 9), each co-acting with a pressure roller (11, 15, 19), to emboss a plurality of paper plies (V1, V2, V3). Two embossing rollers can be easily interchanged to switch from a nested configuration to a tip-to-tip configuration, or to switch from one type of pattern to another. A lamination roller and a glue dispenser are arranged around one of the embossing rollers.
Pressing Roller for the Processing of Web Paper Material
A pressing roller (10) for the processing of web paper material, in particular of the type used in cooperation with an engraving roller (G1) for the bonding of two or more embossed plies of web paper material, comprises a cylindrical pressure surface (11) defined by a plurality of annular resilient pressure bodies (15) of rubber material that have a high surface hardness which allows to avoid the effect of double embossing and at the same time have a high elastic yielding which allows to obtain adequate nip also with relatively low contact pressures.
Embossed multi-ply tissue product
Disclosed are multi-ply embossed tissue products having improved softness, strength, embossment clarity and/or embossment height compared to prior art embossed tissue products. The multi-ply tissue products may comprise an embossed tissue ply having a basis weight less than about 25 grams per square meter (gsm) and relatively deep embossments, such as an embossment height from about 500 to about 1,000 ?m and relatively narrow bottom portions compared to top portions. The combination of these elements provides an aesthetically pleasing and well-defined embossment, while improving important tissue product properties such as sheet and roll bulk and softness.
Films and bags having low-force extension patterns
A thermoplastic film which exhibits elastic-like behavior along at least one axis when stretched or elongated and then released. The thermoplastic film comprises a plurality of raised rib-like elements extending in a direction perpendicular to a main surface of the thermoplastic film. The thermoplastic film further includes a plurality of web areas positioned about the plurality of raised rib-like elements. The plurality of raised rib-like elements and plurality of web areas are arranged in a complex pattern. The complex pattern provides visual and tactile cues as the films are stretched or elongated. The complex pattern can cause the thermoplastic film to have a low force extension.
Non-continuously laminated structures of thermoplastic films with differing material compositions and functional material properties
A non-continuously laminated structure of thermoplastic films comprises thermoplastic films with differing material compositions and differing functional benefits. In particular, one or more embodiments comprise thermoplastic films that are co-extruded separately and then combined together by a post-extrusion bonding process. The differing composition of the various films of the non-continuously laminated structure of thermoplastic films and the post-extrusion bonding process, provide the structures with the functional benefits of the individual films.
TISSUE PRODUCT AND METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PRODUCING SAME
A method for manufacturing a multi-ply tissue paper web for tissue paper products including providing a first inner web having a basis weight of 10 to 30 gsm, providing a first and a second outermost web being non-ribbed webs, wherein a non-ribbed web is defined as a web displaying no parallel ribs and valleys extending continuously along any direction of the web or displaying parallel ribs and valleys extending continuously along any direction of the web, said ribs and valleys providing a number of peaks being less than 4 per cm; positioning said first inner web between said first and second outermost webs; and ply-bonding said webs to a form a multi-ply web wherein said first and second outermost webs form the outermost plies of the multi-ply web.
Multi-layered bags with discrete non-continuous lamination
Multi-layer bags may be formed to include first and second sidewalls joined along a first side edge, an opposite second side edge, and a closed bottom edge. The first and second layers may be non-continuously laminated together in discrete sections to include bonded regions in which the layers are bonded and unbonded regions in which the layers are not bonded. Such a bag may be described as a bag-in-a-bag type configuration in which the inner bag is non-continuously bonded to the outer bag. The inventors have surprisingly found that such configurations of non-continuous bonding provides increased and unexpected strength properties to the multi-layer films and bags.
MULTI-PLY FIBROUS PRODUCT COMPRISING A LAMINATING ADHESIVE WITH A DERMATOLOGICALLY ACCEPTABLE ACID
A multi-ply fibrous product includes at least two fibrous plies, such as a multi-ply nonwoven product, a tissue paper product or a hybrid thereof including at least two tissue paper plies and/or nonwoven plies including cellulosic fibers. At least two fibrous plies are bonded to each other by an aqueous adhesive composition including an adhesive component and a dermatologically acceptable acid, and optionally a salt thereof. A process for the manufacture of this multi-ply fibrous product includes (a) providing at least two fibrous webs, (c) applying an aqueous adhesive composition including an adhesive component and a water-soluble, dermatologically acceptable acid, and optionally the corresponding salt thereof, to at least one side of at least one fibrous web, d) superimposing at least two webs such that the aqueous adhesive composition is located between at least two superimposed webs, and e) bonding at least two webs together.
PACKAGING MATERIAL
The disclosed embodiments relate to an insulative protective packaging material constructed using recyclable paper materials. The packaging material includes one or more plies of paper adhered to each other. The one or more plies can have protrusions that form gas pockets. The gas pockets can be sealed by another ply to provide shock absorbency and insulation. Further, the plies can be used in multiple ways such as by nesting the protrusions of one ply into the recessed of another ply, layering multiple plies on top of each other, or individually. Each ply can be substantially flat or have protrusions. The protrusions can be made in various ways such as alternating the directions that they extend and varying the shapes of the protrusions. The resulting packaging material can be used as a shipping container or as liners within shipping containers.
EMBOSSING DEVICE WITH AT LEAST ONE HEATED EMBOSSING ROLLER, AND METHOD
The embossing device includesa first path for a first ply of web material; along the first path, a first embossing roller provided with embossing protrusions; a first heating device associated with the first embossing roller to heat the surface of the first embossing roller; at least a first functional roller adapted to perform an action on a ply of web material. The first functional roller is provided with a rotation arrangement, adapted to keep the first functional roller in rotation during a temporary stoppage of the embossing device, with the first functional roller spaced from the first embossing roller and with the first ply of web material stationary in the first path.
