The disclosure provides basemats for fibrous panels, including a mineral wool present in an amount of at least about 60 wt %, based on the total weight of the basemat, a mineral filler, a cellulose present in an amount of about 1 wt % to about 3 wt %, based on the total weight of the basemat, and a binder. The basemat has a backing side and a facing side. Also provided are fibrous panels including the basemat of the disclosure and a porous veil.

During welding, the film (23) is stretched in a central region (43) transverse to the longitudinal direction (L) of the nonwoven laminate (20) and is not stretched at the two longitudinal edge strips (50) in a width of 5-25% of the total width (G) of the film (23) in each case, so that, in the relaxed state of the film (23), the nonwoven laminate (20) forms folds (44) in the nonwoven layer (21 and 22) in the central region (43), which extend in the longitudinal direction (L) of the nonwoven laminate (20), and at the longitudinal edges (50, 51) has no folds in the nonwoven layer (21 and 22) but forms there two parallel, inelastic stiffening zones, the film (23) having a smooth, closed surface structure (49) at the longitudinal edge strips (50) and a wrinkled, furrowed surface structure (47) in the central region (43).

The present disclosure provides a load-bearing composite platform. The platform includes a core layer, first and second reinforcement layers, and a frame. The core layer includes a structural sublayer, a force distribution sublayer, and an abrasion prevention sublayer. The first reinforcement layer is adhered to the force distribution sublayer, and the second reinforcement layer is adhered to the structural sublayer. The second reinforcement layer is an inverse of the first reinforcement layer. The frame surrounds the first reinforcement layer, the second reinforcement layer, and the core layer.

In one embodiment, the cap shingle is formed with a continuous or discontinuous self-sealing adhesive that is applied along a ridgeline direction and can provide high wind resistance, without the use of hand-sealed adhesive application. In an embodiment of the method, one or more layers of a shingle material can be oriented in a machine direction with the self-sealing adhesive applied adjacent side edges of the shingle material to form the cap shingles having self-seal strips and configured to bend in the machine direction for installation of the cap shingles along a ridge of a roof.

The winding head includes a rotatable base; a plurality of yarn guides arranged in a linear array and extending from the rotatable base, each yarn guide adapted to receive a different one of the continuous strands, and a rotation motor coupled to the rotatable base and configured to selectively rotate the base to alter an orientation of the linear array.
