MULTI-LAYER COEXTRUSION HEAD AND METHOD FOR MAKING A MULTI-LAYER PRODUCT
Described is a coextrusion head (1) comprising a plurality of infeeds (11, 12, 13, 14, 15) for fluid products, an inner joining space (16, 17), positioned downstream of said infeeds and communicating with them by means of respective delivery ducts (110, 120, 130, 140, 150) so as to allow flows of products to converge there and an outfeed (18) for the final multi-layer product, positioned downstream of the inner joining space (16, 17). In the head (1) there is a central delivery duct (110), provided for receiving a first flow of product and two lateral delivery ducts (120, 130), designed to receive, respectively, a second flow of product and a third flow of product. The head (1) also comprises adjustable narrowing means (31, 32), acting at least in the central delivery duct (110) and designed to vary a respective opening, to allow adjustment of the relative position of the first flow relative to a composite secondary flow defined by the joining of the first, second and third flow in the joining space (16) .
BARRIER LAMINATE FILMS FOR LAP SEALS
A multilayer laminate (100) comprises an oriented polyethylene film (102), a biaxially oriented film (104) adhered to the oriented polyethylene film (102), a barrier film (106) adhered to the biaxially oriented film (104), and a multilayer polyethylene (PE) film (108) adhered to the barrier film (106). The biaxially oriented film (104) comprises one or more components selected from biaxially oriented polyamide (BOPA), biaxially oriented polyethylene terephthalate (BOPET), and biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP).
PACKAGING CONTAINER AND MANUFACTURING METHOD AND RECYCLING METHOD THEREFOR
The present invention provides a laminated sheet for manufacturing a packaging container. The laminated sheet comprises a pair of plastic sheets, a barrier sheet, a barrier region, an easily peelable region, and a fixing region. The barrier sheet has flexibility and is disposed between the pair of plastic sheets. The barrier region is formed by overlapping the pair of plastic sheets and the barrier sheet with each other. The easily peelable region is provided in the barrier region. The fixing region is located in a circumference of the easily peelable region, in which the pair of plastic sheets are fixed to each other directly and/or via the barrier sheet. A peel strength between the pair of plastic sheets and the barrier sheet in the easily peelable region is smaller than a direct peel strength between the pair of plastic sheets and/or a peel strength between the pair of plastic sheets via the barrier sheet in the fixing region. This improves recyclability of a packaging container having gas barrier property.
PRODUCT PACKAGING HAVING SELF-STERILIZING COMPONENTS
A package comprises: a sterile barrier packaging film; self-sterilizing components comprising: a plurality of chlorite ions and water, wherein the self-sterilizing components are substantially free of an energy-activated catalyst and of an acid-releasing compound; a package interior formed by hermetically sealing the sterile barrier packaging film; and a headspace within the package interior comprising carbon dioxide present in an amount of greater than or equal to 5% by volume of the headspace. When the package is exposed to ultraviolet (UV) light having a wavelength of 254 nm, the chlorite ions react with the water to generate chlorine dioxide (ClO.sub.2), which is released into the headspace. In the absence of any UV light, there is not chlorine dioxide (ClO.sub.2) generation.
PACKAGE FOR OXYALKYLENE GROUP-CONTAINING PVA-BASED RESIN AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING THE SAME
Regarding the oxyalkylene group-containing PVA-based resin, a package which is almost free from a problem associated with viscosity increase during melt-kneading even if the package is stored for a long time period, and a method for manufacturing the package are disclosed. The package comprises a bag having an oxygen permeability of 1000 cc/m.sup.2.Math.day.Math.atm or less as an amount of oxygen permeated in 24 hours per 1 m.sup.2 of its constituent film under an condition of 25° C. and 65% RH, and an oxyalkylene group-containing PVA-based resin in the bag. The package can suppress the oxidation of the oxyalkylene group-containing PVA and the generation of the carboxyl group-containing compound which may cause to increase viscosity during melt kneading.
MULTILAYER FILM FOR RECLOSABLE PACKAGE WITH A POLYETHYLENE LAYER OBTAINED BY FLAT SHEET COEXTRUSION
A multilayer film comprises an adhesive layer A comprising an HMPSA composition (a); a complexable thin layer B comprising a PolyEthylene (PE) composition (b); and a heat-sealable and breakable layer C comprising a PolyEthylene (PE) composition (c). Layers B and C are bonded together by layer A. The film is characterized in that (i) the melt flow indices of compositions (b) and (c), denoted MFI(b) and MFI(c), respectively, are each between 2.5 and 15 g/10 minutes; and (ii) the melt flow index of composition (a), denoted MFI(a), is such that the ratios MFI(a)/MFI(b) and MFI(a)/MFI(c) are each between 1.5 and 10. A process for manufacturing the film comprises flat sheet coextrusion of composition (a) and of compositions (b) and (c) at a temperature of between 150° C. and 250° C. The multilayer film can be used for the manufacture of resealable packaging.
Dispensing Liner
Various systems are provided herein for sealing and dispensing the contents of containers. The systems can include openings that may be movable relative to one another between sealed positions and dispensing positions.
Multilayer structure and use of same
A multilayer structure includes a layer of a resin composition containing an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer and a thermoplastic elastomer, wherein a mass ratio of the ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer to the thermoplastic elastomer is from 65/35 to 95/5 and the layer of the resin composition has one surface directly adjacent to a layer of polyolefin with no polar functional group. A multilayer structure is thus provided that is excellent in gas barrier properties, transparency, and flexibility and also has good delamination properties between the layer of the resin composition and the layer of the polyolefin with no polar functional group.
Resin composition, production method for resin composition, and molded body using resin composition
There is provided a resin composition, comprising an ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer and a nonionic surfactant, wherein the ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer has an ethylene unit content of 15 to 60 mol %, and a saponification degree of 90 mol % or more; the ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer is contained as a major component; and the nonionic surfactant is contained at 3 to 400 ppm. The resin composition is produced by melt-kneading a mixture comprising the nonionic surfactant, water and the ethylene-vinyl alcohol copolymer. By using the resin composition thus produced, a discharge amount during melt molding can be increased and a molded article with an excellent appearance can be provided.
