Cylinder, device and machine for aligning magnetic or magnetizable particles on a web-like or sheet-like substrate
A cylinder is usable, in particular, for aligning magnetic of magnetizable particles, which are contained in a coating medium that is applied to a first side of a web-like or a sheet-like substrate, which cylinder, in the region of its outer circumference, has a plurality of elements effecting a magnetic field, magnetic elements for short. The magnetic elements are arranged in or on a plurality of ring elements that are spaced axially apart from one another and that are positionable in the axial direction on a shaft, in or on which ring elements, in turn, a plurality of magnetic elements are respectively arranged one after the other in the circumferential direction. At least two adjacent ring elements, each have a covering element, forming a part of the cylindrical lateral surface of the cylinder and extending in the circumferential direction, at least over the circumferential region populated with magnetic elements. The covering elements of two ring elements adjacent to each other have, on their sides facing each other in the axial direction, a plurality of projections alternating in the circumferential direction with recesses and offset in a circumferential direction in such a way that, during a relative movement of the two ring elements towards each other, the projections on the covering element of one ring element engage, in the manner of teeth, in corresponding recesses of the other ring element, and, as seen in the circumferential direction, can overlap. A security paper printing machine, having such a cylinder, is also disclosed.
Printing press having an infrared dryer unit
Printing machines are fitted with a printer assembly for application of solvent-containing printing ink onto a printing substrate. A transport device transports the printing substrate from the printer assembly to a dryer unit that has at least one infrared radiator for drying the printing substrate. The dryer unit is improved in terms of homogeneity and rapidity of the drying of solvent-containing printing ink, and in that no active cooling of the infrared radiator is required. The infrared radiator is a planar heating element made of a dielectric, emits infrared radiation when heated, and comprises a heating surface that faces the printing substrate to be dried. The infrared radiator has a contacting surface, onto which a printed conductor of a heating conductor made of an electrically conductive precious metal-containing resistor material is applied, that is connected to an adjustable current source by an electrical contact.
DEVICES, MACHINE AND METHOD FOR APPLYING AND ALIGNING MAGNETIC OR MAGNETISABLE PARTICLES ON A WEB-TYPE OR SHEET-TYPE SUBSTRATE
A device is provided for aligning magnetic or magnetizable particles, which are contained in a coating that is applied to a first side of a web-type or a sheet-type substrate. An application device is arranged in the transport path of the substrate, by the use of which, the coating is applied or is applicable to the first side of the substrate, in at least one application site. A first cylinder, which is embodied as a magnetic cylinder, is arranged in the transport path of the substrate to be transported downstream of the application device and comprises a plurality of elements creating a magnetic field in the region of the outer periphery of the first cylinder. Another cylinder, which is embodied as a magnetic cylinder, is arranged in the transport path of the substrate to be transported and comprises a plurality of elements creating a magnetic field in the region of the outer periphery of that cylinder. A drying device or an hardening device is arranged on the transport path between a site of a winding-on of the substrate on the first cylinder and a site of a winding-on of the other cylinder. The first cylinder, which is embodied as the magnetic cylinder, is arranged in the transport path of the substrate to be transported on the second side thereof. The drying or the hardening device is oriented in the transport path of the substrate to be transported on the first side thereof.
CYLINDER, DEVICE AND MACHINE FOR ALIGNING MAGNETIC OR MAGNETISABLE PARTICLES ON A WEB-LIKE OR SHEET-LIKE SUBSTRATE

A security paper printing machine, having such a cylinder, is also disclosed.

A thermosetting unit, in particular for a textile printer, includes a pair of stationary supports, a thermosetting roller extending between said stationary supports and rotatably carried by said stationary supports around a longitudinal axis thereof, a stationary infrared lamp extending inside said thermosetting roller and having opposite ends supported by said stationary supports, and a temperature-uniforming device housed inside the thermosetting roller.

A machine for digital printing on tape, which comprises a frame that supports elements of entraining at least one tape along an advancement path and is provided with at least one printing assembly, which comprises at least one ink-jet printing head; downstream of the printing assembly, along the advancement direction of the tape, there is at least one assembly for drying the inks applied to the tape; the drying assembly comprises a temperature-adjustable drum for supporting and entraining the tape, adhesion elements adapted to allow the retention in adhesion of the tape on the outer lateral surface of the drum, and hot air emitter elements which face at least one portion of the outer lateral surface of the drum.
METHOD FOR DRYING A SUBSTRATE, DRYER MODULE FOR CARRYING OUT THE METHOD, AND DRYER SYSTEM
Methods for drying a substrate. The methods include the following steps: (a) emitting infrared radiation towards a substrate moving through a process space using an emitter unit comprising at least one inflated emitter, (b) generating at least two process gas streams of a process gas directed towards the substrate, (c) drying the substrate by the action of infrared radiation and process gas on the substrate, and (d) extracting moisture-laden process gas from the process space via an extraction duct, forming an exhaust air stream leading away from the substrate. To specify a drying method which is reproducible and effective and leads to an improved result, in particular in terms of homogeneity and speed of drying of the substrate, the at least two process gas streams are guided to the infrared emitter before they act on the substrate, and an exhaust air stream is spatially assigned to each process gas stream.

A dryer for drying a drying object includes a hot air generator to generate hot air to be blown onto the drying object, a contact heater to contact and heat the drying object, and a controller to control a heating temperature of the contact heater and a temperature of the hot air. The controller controls the heating temperature of the contact heater to be above a first predetermined temperature from a start of generation of the hot air by the hot air generator until the temperature of the hot air reaches a second predetermined temperature.

A heated roller, in particular for a textile printer, comprising: a pair of stationary supports, an elongated tubular element located between said stationary supports and rotatably carried by said stationary supports about a longitudinal axis, a stationary infrared lamp extending inside said tubular element and having opposite ends supported by said stationary supports, a lamp support device extending between said stationary supports inside said tubular element and supporting the infrared lamp between said stationary supports, and an elastic device which applies an elastic tension to said lamp support device between said stationary supports in the direction of said longitudinal axis.
PRINTING PRESS HAVING AN INFRARED DRYER UNIT
Printing machines are fitted with a printer assembly for application of solvent-containing printing ink onto a printing substrate. A transport device transports the printing substrate from the printer assembly to a dryer unit that has at least one infrared radiator for drying the printing substrate.
