Provided is a device for cleaning exhaust air from a printing device by means of a heat exchanger. The device is configured to operate the heat exchanger in a standard phase such that an output temperature of the exhaust air exhibits a standard value such that hydrocarbons are condensed out of the exhaust air. The device is also configured to operate the heat exchanger in a regeneration phase such that the output temperature of the exhaust air exhibits a value. The value is reduced relative to the standard value, such that water is condensed out of the exhaust air.

Dryers for printed media

Dryers (300) comprising a first surface (102) and a deflector (302). The first surface comprises at least one opening (104) through which air is forced during use to dry a printed media and the deflector comprises (302) a second surface to change the direction of airflow passing through the at least one opening. The deflector guides the direction of the airflow such that it flows substantially in a direction corresponding to the direction of travel (310) of the printed media.

A method is provided for configuring a drying device in a printing machine, in particular in a value document printing machine. The printing machine has at least one printing unit which comprises an imaging cylinder having a plurality of imaging printing elements or groups of imaging printing elements which are arranged in rows and columns on its circumference. A drying device has a dryer, by which print material, passing through the dryer, is subject to radiation. The drying device is configured for ongoing or upcoming production in such a way that the print material passing through the dryer, in order to be dried, is subjected to radiation in a plurality of tracks spaced from each other by non-irradiated tracks according to the same switch-on and switch-off sequence extending over cycle length. The configuration takes place with regard to one of a lateral position and a width of the tracks to be subject to two radiation by the dryer using product-related data or information regarding one of the number and the size and the position of value items to be printed next to each other on the print material portion and one of using data which comes from a device for image capture and an evaluation comprised by the printing machine or provided in parallel to such a device.

Drying device, liquid discharge apparatus, and treatment liquid applicator

A drying device includes a plurality of blowers to blow air onto an object to be dried, the plurality of blowers being disposed along a direction of conveyance of the object to be dried, and a plurality of heaters to heat air inside the plurality of blowers. Each of the plurality of blowers includes an elongated nozzle arranged along a nozzle direction perpendicular to the direction of conveyance of the object to be dried, and an airflow generator to generate airflow to be blown from the elongated nozzle. The plurality of blowers includes a first blower including the airflow generator at a first end of the first blower in the nozzle direction and a second blower including the airflow generator at a second end of the second blower opposite the first end in the nozzle direction.

Dryer, printer, and liquid applicator

A dryer for conveying and drying an object to be dried, the dryer includes a conveyor including a first path and a second path along which the object to be dried is conveyed, a conveyance direction of the second path being different from a conveyance direction of the first path, and a blower to blow air onto the object to be dried. The blower includes a first air outlet that faces the first path and blows the air onto the object to be dried conveyed along the first path, and a second air outlet that faces the second path and blows the air onto the object to be dried conveyed along the second path.
