A dryer device has a dryer comprising one or a multi-part drying unit that, in the printing material path, is downstream of the printing point. Printing materials passing through the dryer can be subjected to radiation for the purpose of drying the same. A control unit is provided for controlling the drying unit of the dryer with respect to activating and deactivating the same, which control unit is in signal connection with a transmitter providing signals representing one of the machine phase and the progress of the printing material, and which, per cycle, effectuates a switching on and off of or, at least part of, the drying unit after a sequence comprising at least one active and at least one inactive phase, in correlation with the position of one of the machine and the printing material phase.

MACHINE ARRANGEMENT AND METHOD FOR SEQUENTIAL PROCESSING OF SHEET-TYPE SUBSTRATES

A machine arrangement, that sequentially processes sheet-type substrates, includes a plurality of different processing stations, one of which includes a non-impact printing device that prints the substrates. Further processing stations are a primer application device that primes the substrates and a dryer for drying the primer applied to the substrates. The primer application device and the dryer precede the non-impact printing device, in the direction of travel of the substrates. The processing station including the non-impact printing device, also includes a printing cylinder, on the circumference of which, the non-impact printing device that prints the substrates is arranged.

Provided is a heat radiating apparatus. The heat radiating apparatus includes a support member in close contact with the heat source, a heat pipe thermally joined with the support member, and a plurality of heat radiating fins placed in a space that faces a second principal surface. The heat pipe includes a first line part thermally joined with the support member, a second line part thermally joined with the heat radiating fins, and a connecting part which connects the first line part to the second line part. A length of the heat pipe is slightly shorter than or equal to the support member. The connecting part has a curved part thermally joined with the support member. When a plurality of heat radiating apparatuses are arranged in the direction in which the first line part extends, the heat radiating apparatuses can be connected such that the first principal surfaces are successive.

A plurality of individually controlled, non-impact printing units are arranged along the transport path of the sheets. Each of the plurality of non-impact printing units is configured as an ink jet printer.
