WASTE DISPOSAL FOR 3D PRINTING

Additive manufacturing or 3D printing produces considerable quantities of waste ink or resin during the course of additive manufacture. The waste ink is a hazardous substance and must be collected and disposed of accordingly. The present embodiments provide a waste ink collection device that collects the waste ink from the printing process, or from head cleaning and other incidental operations, stores the waste and cures it. The waste ink is thus rendered safe for conventional disposal. A waste ink disposal cartridge collects the waste ink and carries out curing.

Leak mitigation devices

A leak mitigation device includes a planar portion and a tail portion. The planar portion has a first width. The tail portion has a proximal end and a distal end. The proximal end is attached to the planar portion and has a second width less than the first width. The planar portion and the tail portion comprise an absorbent material.

PRINTING SYSTEM AND CARTRIDGE FOR A PRINTING SYSTEM

A cartridge for a printing system comprises a receptacle to receive waste printing material from the printing system, a floater to change its position based on a varying filling level of the waste printing material in the receptacle, and a flag mechanically coupled to the floater, wherein a position of the flag depends on the position of the floater and indicates, outside of the receptacle, the filling level.

PRINTING FLUID COLLECTORS

A printing fluid collector is described. In one example, the collector comprises a conveying mechanism for collecting printing fluid ejected from a printing fluid dispenser, and a connecting means for connecting the conveying mechanism to a printing system in an orientation such that the conveying mechanism is to collect printing fluid ejected from the printing fluid dispenser and convey the printing fluid in a direction which is substantially perpendicular to a direction of movement of a print medium along a print medium path.

WASTE LIQUID CONTAINER AND LIQUID EJECTING APPARATUS

An apparatus for supplying chemical liquid may include a chemical liquid supply head, a receiving member, a removing member and a supplying member. The chemical liquid supply head may provide a chemical liquid onto a substrate. The receiving member may receive a recycle chemical liquid discharged from the chemical liquid supply head, and the removing member may remove impurities remaining in the recycle chemical liquid received in the receiving member. The supplying member may provide the recycle chemical liquid from which the impurities are removed to the chemical liquid supply head.

Liquid discharge apparatus

A liquid discharge apparatus includes a tube configured to connect a liquid discharge unit and a liquid container, a protective member configured to protect the tube, and a holder configured to hold the protective member. The holder holds the protective member by a first projection of the holder being inserted into a first opening in the protective member, such that a portion of the first projection protrudes from the first opening, and, in a state where the protective member is attached to the holder, a length of the portion of the first projection in a first direction in which a short side of the first opening extends is greater than that of the first opening in the first direction, and the length of the portion of the first projection in the first direction is less than that of the first opening, in the second direction crossing to the first direction.

Collection of liquid ejected from a printhead

In an example of the disclosure, a printhead is caused to spit a liquid into a main cavity of a container. The container includes an overflow pocket for collecting liquid that has overflown from the main cavity. A sensor is caused to detect whether liquid is present in the overflow pocket. Responsive to sensor detection that liquid is present in the overflow pocket, a warning or instruction message is caused to be sent for user consumption.

PRINTING LIQUID COLLECTION

Disclosed herein are apparatus and methods for collection printing liquid e.g. ink. A printing liquid collection apparatus comprises a collection tray comprising a printing liquid droplet collection surface to capture printing liquid droplets produced during application of a printing liquid to a porous substrate; and a printing liquid removal element to receive the captured printing liquid from the collection tray and transport the captured printing liquid to a waste printing liquid container.

LIQUID DISCHARGE APPARATUS, WASTE LIQUID COLLECTING UNIT, AND WASTE LIQUID COLLECTING METHOD

A recording apparatus includes a discard absorbing member (first absorbing member) that absorbs a liquid discarded from a discharge head to an outer side of an end portion of a medium supported by a support section as a waste liquid. Further, the recording apparatus includes: a cap which is an example of a waste liquid receiving section that receives the liquid ejected from the discharge head as a waste liquid; a waste liquid absorbing member (second absorbing member) that absorbs the waste liquid sent from the cap; and a waste liquid box (accommodating section) that holds the waste liquid absorbing member. The discard absorbing member and the waste liquid absorbing member 50A are coupled to each other such that the waste liquid can be delivered from the discard absorbing member to the waste liquid absorbing member.
