One embodiment of the present invention is an image processing apparatus that includes: a processing unit configured to perform processing relating to color calibration in a printing apparatus that prints an image on a printing medium using fluorescent printing material; and an execution unit configured to perform calibration processing of the printing apparatus based on a measured value that is obtained by measuring a patch chart for obtaining information on an amount of application of the fluorescent printing material in the printing apparatus, wherein a patch included in the patch chart is printed with the fluorescent printing material and subtractive color mixture printing material and at least one dot of the subtractive color mixture printing material covers a dot of the fluorescent printing material.
Hands-free portable printer having housing, knob and at least sensors to detect motions in different directions, while the knob is adapted to rotate for scrolling through sets of alpha-numeric characters
A touchless motion activated printer including a housing for receiving a stock of labels supported within the housing; a controller having a computer readable medium and in communications with a display, touchless input assembly, and a printer; and, a set of computer readable instructions stored on the computer readable medium adapted for receiving input from a user, printing a label, storing the label information and ejecting the label. The printer can include an input area. The printer can be in communications with one or more of IoT device, portable computer device, local area network, wide area network, local computer server, home automation system or any combination.
PRINTING APPARATUS AND PRINTING METHOD
A printing apparatus comprises a decision unit configured to decide a ratio of ink application amounts of the fluorescent ink and the other ink respectively in each of the plurality of scans. The decision unit decides the ratio of the ink application amount of the fluorescent ink in each of the plurality of scans so that the amount of the coloring material of the fluorescent ink in a surface of an ink layer of the printing medium is less than the amount of the coloring material of the fluorescent ink in an inside of the ink layer of the printing medium.
UTILIZING A GRAININESS-BASED METRIC TO ESTIMATE A TOTAL COLORANT LIMIT
A system and method enable determining a total colorant limit for printing images. The system includes memory which stores instructions for: determining a grain value for each of a set of printed patches printed on a first print media, the grain value being based upon a visual contrast sensitivity function computed for the respective patch, the set of printed patches including patches printed on the print media at different total colorant values; determining a total colorant limit for the first print media, as a function of the total colorant values and corresponding grain values for the printed patches in the set, wherein the total colorant limit is a total colorant value which corresponds to a grain value which does not exceed a threshold grain value for the first print media. A processor executes the instructions.
Recording device and recording method
A recording device includes a recording unit configured to discharge a plurality of colors of ink, and a control unit configured to control the recording unit to perform recording of an image on a recording medium, wherein the control unit is configured to perform color expansion processing to copy, to a target pixel, a recording amount of first ink included in another pixel, the target pixel and the other pixel configuring image data representing the image, the target pixel being adjacent to the other pixel, the other pixel including the recording amount of the first ink of the plurality of colors of ink, the target pixel including a recording amount of second ink of the plurality of colors of ink, and cause the recording unit to perform recording based on the image data after the color expansion processing. The target pixel does not include the recording amount of the first ink, and the second ink has a different color than the first ink.
INK DEPOSITION UNIFORMITY COMPENSATION MECHANISM
A printing system is disclosed. The printing system includes at least one physical memory device to store halftone calibration logic and one or more processors coupled with the at least one physical memory device to execute the halftone calibration logic determine an uncalibrated deposition distribution for each of a plurality of pel forming elements, determine a calibrated deposition distribution for each of the plurality of pel forming elements and determine calibration values for each of the plurality of pel forming elements.
PRINTING APPARATUS AND A PRINTING METHOD THEREFOR
An image shifter creates plural pairs of shift image data. A shading corrector and a halftone dot processor create halftone shift image data from shift images. Further, a difference image creator creates halftone common image data which is a common part of a pair of halftone shift image data, and creates halftone positive difference image data and halftone negative difference image data each of which is a difference between the halftone common image data and one of a pair of halftone shift image data. A composite image creator synthesizes the halftone common image data corresponding to an amount of positional deviation, and the halftone positive difference image data or halftone negative difference image data. A controller executes printing on web paper. Since the image data is only synthesized, processing load can be lightened even if printing is performed to restrain positional deviations.
