IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS, METHOD FOR FORMING IMAGE, AND PROGRAM
An image forming apparatus includes a head unit that moves in a predetermined scanning direction and on which a first nozzle which discharges first ink including a black color material, a second nozzle which discharges second ink having higher brightness than that of the first ink, and a third nozzle which discharges third ink having higher brightness than that of the first ink are arrayed in the scanning direction, and a control portion. The control portion is set to perform a conversion processing which sets a type and amount of the ink which is discharged from the head unit according to color data included in the image data and use the first ink, the second ink, and the third ink according to the color data of the darkest point in the conversion processing.
Ink-jet ink printing system and method
An ink-jet ink printing method and associated system can have a printer including an ink-jet ink. The ink includes an aqueous liquid vehicle, 1 wt % to 5 wt % pigment, 1 wt % to 5 wt % acrylic polymer particles, 0.3 wt % to 3 wt % urethane polymer particles, and is formulated to print on a vinyl medium. The system also includes a heating device. Upon applying heat to the ink-jet ink printed on the vinyl medium, the polymer particles in the printed ink fuse, and form a film encapsulating at least a portion of the pigment on the vinyl print medium.

A photocurable ink composition includes polymerizable compounds and a photopolymerization initiator. The polymerizable compounds include vinyl ether group-containing (meth)acrylic esters represented by the following Formula (I):
CH.sub.2═CR.sup.1—COOR.sup.2—O—CH═CH—R.sup.3 (I)
(wherein, R.sup.1 represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group; R.sup.2 represents a divalent organic residue having 2 to 20 carbon atoms; and R.sup.3 represents a hydrogen atom or a monovalent organic residue having 1 to 11 carbon atoms), dipropylene glycol di(meth)acrylate, and monofunctional (meth)acrylate having an aromatic ring skeleton. The ink composition includes a coloring material.
AQUEOUS INK
The present invention relates to a water-based ink containing at least pigment-containing water-insoluble crosslinked polymer particles (A), a polymer emulsion (B) and water, in which a water-insoluble crosslinked polymer constituting the crosslinked polymer particles (A) is obtained by subjecting a polymer that contains a constitutional unit derived from a carboxylic acid monomer having an acid value of not less than 200 mgKOH/g and a constitutional unit derived from a hydrophobic monomer, to crosslinking reaction with an epoxy compound, and a polymer constituting the polymer emulsion (B) contains a constitutional unit derived from a carboxylic acid monomer and a constitutional unit derived from a hydrophobic monomer. The water-based ink of the present invention is excellent in ejection stability and fastness of the printed characters or images while maintaining good optical density.
Inks
According to one embodiment, an ink which can be decolored upon heating is provided. Colored images can be formed with the ink by various methods, such as ink jetting or the like, then later the images can be decolored with heat. An ink according to an embodiment contains a color developable compound, a color developing agent that causes the color developable compound to develop a color, a nonaqueous solvent, and a decoloring agent that is insoluble in the nonaqueous solvent and decolors the color developable compound upon heating.
Water-based ink for ink-jet recording and ink cartridge
A water-based ink for ink-jet recording includes a colorant, water, a surfactant, and a compound represented by the following formula (1). ##STR00001## In the formula (1), R is an alkyl ether group or an alkyl ester group in which a number of carbon atoms of a main chain is not less than 6, and each of an alkyl group of the alkyl ether group and an alkyl group of the alkyl ester group is in a straight chain form or a branched chain form.
