PRINTHEAD FOR A PRINTING APPARATUS
Provided herein is a printing apparatus including a printhead movable between a first position and a second position. The printhead includes a first substrate and a second substrate. The first substrate and the second substrate define at least a first burn line and a second burn line, respectively, of heating elements disposed adjacent to a first edge and a second edge, respectively of the printhead. A printhead bracket receives the printhead in one of the first position or the second position. In the first position, the heating elements of the first burn line perform a printing operation and the printhead bracket is configured to preclude operation of the heating elements of the second burn line. In the second position, the heating elements of the second burn line perform a printing operation, and the printhead bracket is configured to preclude operation of the heating elements of the first burn line.

An example disclosed printer configured to peel media from a backing, the printer having a peeler assembly that is engageable between a peeling position, wherein the printer is configured to peel the media from the backing, and a non-peeling position, wherein the printer is not configured to peel the media from the backing. The printer further including a sensor configured to send a signal corresponding to a position of the peeler assembly. The printer further including a communication interface configured to receive the position of the peeler assembly from the sensor and configured to transmit the position of the peeler assembly to a secondary component.

A printer a housing, a printer cover that is rotatable relative to the housing about a first rotary axis, a thermal head configured to print on print medium, a connecting part capable of being connected to and disconnected from the thermal head, and a head cover that is rotatable about a second rotary axis being parallel to the first rotary axis, the head cover pivotally supported at the printer cover, the head cover rotating between a first position at which the head cover closes the connecting part and a second position at which the head cover does not close the connecting part to connect and disconnect the thermal head and the connecting part. The space is defined between the head cover located at the second position and the printer cover. The connecting part is exposed through the space.

There is provided a printing apparatus including: a thermal head including heating elements arranged in a first direction; a shaft extending in a second direction; a first engaging part; a head holder; an insertion part; a shaft holder holding the shaft; a second engaging part engageable with the first engaging part so that the shaft does not come off from the shaft holder; a guide configured to guide the shaft holder movably between engaging and non-engaging positions; a fixing member; and a fixing member-holder. The fixing member fixes the shaft holder to the head holder in a case that the shaft holder is located at the engaging position. The fixing member-holder holds the fixing member so that the fixing member does not come off from the shaft holder in a case that the shaft holder is located at the non-engaging position.

An object is suppressing the reduction in the gas barrier property in a case where the cavitation resistance layer becomes thin. An embodiment of the present invention is a liquid ejection head substrate, including: a first layer that forms a heating element that generates heat energy to eject a liquid; a second layer that functions as an electric wiring connected with the heating element; a third layer that is insulative and covers the first layer and the second layer; and a fourth layer that is a layer arranged over the third layer so as to cover at least the heating element, formed of metal, and to generate an electrochemical reaction with the liquid, in which a first average crystal particle diameter on a side that is in contact with the liquid and a second average crystal particle diameter on a side of the third layer are different.

A printer a housing, a printer cover that is rotatable relative to the housing about a first rotary axis, a thermal head configured to print on print medium, a connecting part capable of being connected to and disconnected from the thermal head, and a head cover that is rotatable about a second rotary axis being parallel to the first rotary axis, the head cover pivotally supported at the printer cover, the head cover rotating between a first position at which the head cover closes the connecting part and a second position at which the head cover does not close the connecting part to connect and disconnect the thermal head and the connecting part. The space is defined between the head cover located at the second position and the printer cover. The connecting part is exposed through the space.

A printer includes a housing, a printer cover configured to rotate between a closed position at which the printer cover closes an interior of the housing and an open position at which the printer cover opens the interior of the housing, a platen roller configured to feed print medium, a thermal head opposed to the platen roller when the printer cover is located at the closed position, and an operation member configured to connect and disconnect the thermal head, the operation member guides the print medium fed by the platen roller when the printer cover is located at the closed position.
THERMAL HEAD AND THERMAL PRINTER
A thermal head includes a substrate, a glaze layer, and a reinforced conductor layer. The glaze includes a first glaze and a second glaze. The first glaze extends in a predetermined direction on the surface of the substrate. The second glaze is spaced part from the first glaze to one side in a direction perpendicular to the predetermined direction on the surface of the substrate. The reinforced conductor layer includes a lateral side part. The lateral side part extends on the surface of the substrate from the first glaze side to the second glaze side and is partially located on the second glaze. An edge part on the first glaze side in the second glaze includes a cutout portion cut out toward the one side in the direction perpendicular to the predetermined direction. The lateral side part passes through the cutout portion.
