Printing device
A printing device includes a base plate extending in a direction orthogonal to a first direction, a mounting portion provided rotatably on a surface, which is at one side in the first direction, of the base plate, in which a ribbon roll having an ink ribbon wound is to be mounted on the mounting portion, a thermal head provided on the surface of the base plate, and configured to perform printing on a printing medium disposed on one side in a second direction orthogonal to the first direction; and a printed circuit board located on one side, with respect to the base plate, in a third direction orthogonal to the first direction and the second direction, and extending in a direction intersecting the base plate.
Label, peeling, universal printheads and related methods
An example disclosed printer configured to peel media from a backing, the printer having a peeler assembly that is engageable between a peeling position, wherein the printer is configured to peel the media from the backing, and a non-peeling position, wherein the printer is not configured to peel the media from the backing. The printer further including a sensor configured to send a signal corresponding to a position of the peeler assembly. The printer further including a communication interface configured to receive the position of the peeler assembly from the sensor and configured to transmit the position of the peeler assembly to a secondary component.
Printer
An embodiment of the present invention is a printer including: a feed roller configured to feed a print medium; a print head configured to pinch the print medium with the feed roller and to print on the print medium; at least a biasing member configured to bias the print head in a first direction toward the feed roller; and an abutting part that abuts on the print head. The print head comprises: a first side biased by the biasing member, and a second side that is an opposite of the first side, the second side facing the feed roller. When seen from a side view of the printer, a point of applying a biasing force of the biasing member to the print head is between a position at which the print head receives a reaction force from the feed roller and a position at which the abutting part supports the second side of the print head. The print head is swingable around a fulcrum at the abutting part in a clockwise swinging direction and a counterclockwise swinging direction in a side view of the printer.
Thermal printer
A thermal printer includes a thermal head, a drive data generation unit, a clock generation unit, and a drive data supply unit. The thermal head is configured such that a large number of heating elements divided into a plurality of blocks are mounted thereon, and is configured to input drive data for driving the large number of heating elements to the plurality of blocks in parallel in synchronization with a plurality of different first clock signals. The drive data generation unit is configured to generate a plurality of pieces of drive data for each of the plurality of blocks from print data and to output the plurality of pieces of drive data in synchronization with a plurality of second clock signals. The clock generation unit is configured to generate a plurality of clock signals whose phases are shifted from each other. The drive data supply unit is configured to take in the plurality of pieces of drive data, which are output from the drive data generation unit, in synchronization with the plurality of second clock signals and to supply the plurality of pieces of drive data to the thermal head in synchronization with the plurality of first clock signals.
Thermal print head
A thermal print head includes: a substrate including a main surface; an insulating film arranged on the main surface; a first wiring layer arranged on the insulating film; a first interlayer insulating film arranged on the first wiring layer; a heat-generating body film; and a second wiring layer arranged on the first interlayer insulating film with the heat-generating body film interposed therebetween, wherein a bump is formed on the main surface, wherein the bump extends along a first direction in a plan view, wherein the second wiring layer extends along a second direction orthogonal to the first direction to intersect the bump in a plan view, and includes first, second, third, and fourth wirings arranged along the first direction, wherein the second wiring is located between the first wiring and the third wiring, and wherein the third wiring is located between the second wiring and the fourth wiring.
