METHOD OF INKJET PRINTING ONTO ALIGNERS
Provided herein are methods of obtaining good photocured-ink adhesion to low surface energy materials. The methods have greatly improved adhesion of photocured ink on low surface energy materials, including those that are subjected to high humidity or wet environments. The methods take into account the glass transition temperature (T.sub.g) of the materials and the onset for the glass transition temperature, including ink applied to an exposed surface of the material at an elevated temperature that is close to the T.sub.g of the material. The ink is allowed to sit briefly or soak, such as for more than 1 second, before the ink is cured. The ink may be photocured. Furthermore, the methods do not require solvents or surface treatment, including plasma or corona treatments, to obtain good ink adhesion.
Transport device and image forming apparatus
A transport device includes a transport unit that transports a sheet-like transport material without holding a one-end-side portion of the transport material in a transport direction; and a blowing unit that blows air against a lower surface of the transport material that is transported by the transport unit via multiple blowing holes that open with respect to the lower surface, an arrangement interval of the multiple blowing holes in the transport direction being inconstant in the transport direction.
Medium heating device which intermittently applies heat to a contact heater and an infrared heater
In a medium heating device, a medium is conveyed along a conveyance path. A first contact heater contacts a back surface of the medium. A second contact heater is disposed downstream from the first contact heater in a conveyance direction of the medium and contacts the back surface of the medium. A non-contact heater faces the second contact heater across the conveyance path and heats a front surface of the medium at a position separated from the medium on the conveyance path. In an operation period in which the medium is intermittently conveyed on the conveyance path, circuitry supplies power to each of the first contact heater, the second contact heater, and the non-contact heater to generate heat, and the power supplied to the second contact heater is smaller than the power supplied to the first contact heater.
PRINTING A FIBROUS MATERIAL
The present invention refers to a plant (1) for printing a fibrous material (T). The printing plant (1) comprises: a station (14) for supplying a fibrous material configured for supplying the fibrous material along a predetermined operative path, a treating station (10) configured for treating the fibrous material with a treatment composition by applying the composition itself on a first side (T1) of the fibrous material (T) ; and a printing station (6) configured for ink-printing at least part of a second side (T2) of the fibrous material (T) opposite to the first side (T1). Moreover, the present invention refers to a process of printing a fibrous material.
ELECTROMAGNETIC WAVE GENERATOR, INK DRYER, AND INK JET PRINTER
Provided is an electromagnetic wave generator including: an electromagnetic wave generation section that generates an electromagnetic wave; a high-frequency voltage generation section that generates a voltage applied to the electromagnetic wave generation section; and a transmission line that electrically couples the electromagnetic wave generation section and the high-frequency voltage generation section to each other, in which the electromagnetic wave generation section includes a first electrode, a second electrode, a first conductor that electrically couples the first electrode and the transmission line to each other, and a second conductor that electrically couples the second electrode and the transmission line to each other, one of the first electrode or the second electrode is a reference potential electrode to which a reference potential is applied and the other is a high-frequency electrode to which a high-frequency voltage is applied, a minimum separation distance between the first electrode and the second electrode is 1/10 or less of a wavelength of an output electromagnetic wave, a minimum separation distance between the first conductor and the second conductor is 1/10 or less of a wavelength of an output electromagnetic wave, and the first conductor further includes a coil, and the coil is closer to the first electrode than the transmission line.
DRYING APPARATUS AND IMAGE FORMING SYSTEM
A drying apparatus which dries a medium on which an image is formed with ink while conveying the medium includes a conveyance part, a heating part, a measurement part and a controller. The conveyance part conveys the medium in a predetermined conveyance direction. The heating part supplies energy to the image on the sheet conveyed in the conveyance part and dries the image. The measurement part measures a value accompanied with moisture contained in the medium. The controller estimates an amount of moisture contained in the medium based on the value measured by the measurement part, and controls at least one of the conveyance part and the heating part so as to change an amount of the energy supplied to the image based on the estimated amount of moisture.
DRYING APPARATUS AND IMAGE FORMING SYSTEM
The drying apparatus includes a conveying belt and a heating unit. The heating unit includes a blower fan, a rectifying member, a heater, and a reflecting plate. The rectifying member is arranged on the downstream side of the blower fan in the blowing direction of the blower fan and includes one or more first through holes. The heater is arranged on the downstream side of the rectifying member in the blowing direction to radiate infrared rays in all directions. The reflecting plate is arranged between the rectifying member and the heater, includes one or more second through holes, and reflects the infrared rays radiated from the heater to the side of the conveying belt. The one or more first through holes are formed in a portion other than a portion where the infrared rays passing through the one or more second through holes of the reflecting plate are radiated.

The present invention refers to a plant (1) for printing a fibrous material (T). The printing plant (1) comprises: a station (14) for supplying a fibrous material configured for supplying the fibrous material along a predetermined operative path, a treating station (10) configured for treating the fibrous material with a treatment composition by applying the composition itself on a first side (T1) of the fibrous material (T); and a printing station (6) configured for ink-printing at least part of a second side (T2) of the fibrous material (T) opposite to the first side (T1). Moreover, the present invention refers to a process of printing a fibrous material.
HEAD, MACHINE, AND METHOD FOR DIGITAL PRINTING ON SUBSTRATES
A digital print head, a digital printing machine having the head, and a method for digital printing on substrates using the head, the digital print head having an ejector for ejecting a product onto the substrate; a drying element for acting on the product ejected onto the substrate such that it is dried; and shielding element to prevent the ejected product from directly reaching the drying element by spray. Likewise, the drying element is located with respect to the ejector in such a way that when the product is ejected it may be subjected to the drying that may be provided by the drying element.
