DRYING DEVICE AND PRINTING APPARATUS
A drying device includes a support portion that supports a printed medium, a heating unit provided in a drying chamber for drying the medium supported by the support portion, a flow path member that forms an air flow path connecting an inflow port that opens downward in the vertical direction and the drying chamber, an air blowing unit that supplies, to the drying chamber, air flowing from the inflow port into the air flow path and causes the air to flow out of an outflow portion of the drying chamber, and a control unit that controls driving of the air blowing unit. The outflow portion is positioned lower than the inflow port in the vertical direction, and the control unit controls the driving of the air blowing unit to change an air flow rate of the air supplied to the drying chamber.
Curing apparatus, image forming apparatus, and articles of manufacture
Curing apparatus, image forming apparatus and articles of manufacture are disclosed. An example curing apparatus includes a curing unit to heat an area adjacent a substrate travel path, the curing unit having a width less than a width of the substrate travel path, and a controller to reciprocate the curing unit within the substrate width.
SYSTEM FOR DIRECTLY PRINTING FIBROUS OBJECTS WITH SOLID INK IMAGES
A printer includes a spindle that rotates a fibrous object opposite a plurality of printheads while a forced air heater directs heated air toward the surface of the fibrous object. The plurality of printheads eject drops of solid ink onto the surface of the fibrous object to form a solid ink image on the fibrous object and the heated air affixes the solid ink image to the surface of the fibrous object without requiring pressure to affix the solid ink image to the fibrous object.
MEDIUM HEATING DEVICE AND PRINTING APPARATUS
A medium heating device includes a heating unit configured to heat a medium; a first control unit and a second control unit configured to control the heating unit; and a housing including the first control unit and the second control unit inside the housing. Each of the first control unit and the second control unit includes an air inlet and an air outlet. The first control unit and the second control unit include an air intake and exhaust fan installed at at least one of the air inlet and the air outlet of the first control unit, and at at least one of the air inlet and the air outlet of the second control unit. The first control unit and the second control unit are disposed such that the air outlet of the first control unit and the air outlet of the second control unit face each other.
INKJET RECORDING APPARATUS
An inkjet recording apparatus includes an ink jetter that jets ink and a transfer unit that has a ring-shaped intermediate transfer body. The transfer unit transfers, to a recording medium, a primary image formed on an outer circumferential surface of the intermediate transfer body with the ink that is jetted to land on the outer circumferential surface by the ink jetter. The transfer unit includes a heater that heats air in an internal space of the intermediate transfer body enclosed by an inner circumferential surface of the intermediate transfer body, and an air mover that flows the air in the internal space.
Printing apparatus and printing method of printing apparatus
A printing apparatus includes a drying unit, and has, a first mode in which a temperature of the drying unit is decreased by performing a control of electric connection to a heater of the drying unit or a temperature control of the heater after starting the maintenance work, and the temperature of the drying unit is increased by performing the control of electric connection to the heater or the temperature control of the heater after the maintenance work, and a second mode in which the temperature of the drying unit is decreased by performing the control of electric connection to the heater or the temperature control of the heater after the starting of the maintenance work, and the temperature of the drying unit is increased by performing the control of electric connection to the heater or the temperature control of the heater during the maintenance work.
Method of printing
A printing system and method for improving ink absorption in a print substrate by preventing evaporation includes a conditioned transport module arranged for transporting a printed print substrate from a (conditioned) image formation module to a drying/fixation module. The transport module includes a control system configured for controlling the relative humidity inside the transport module to at least 50%.
Blowing unit, drying device, liquid applying system, and printing system
Provided are a blowing unit, a drying device, a liquid applying system, and a printing system with which it is possible to realize uniformly blowing air via a plurality of jetting ports. In a blowing unit that has a hollow structure and blows air via a plurality of jetting ports disposed at a first surface, a gas inflow port through which a gas supplied from a gas supply source flows in is formed in a second surface which intersects the first surface and at which the jetting ports are not disposed and a ratio of a sum of opening areas of the plurality of jetting ports to an opening area of the gas inflow port is equal to or larger than 0.1 and equal to or smaller than 1.0.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR REDUCING THE UNDULATION OF A RECORDING MEDIUM
In methods and systems for reducing the undulation of a recording medium that has been printed to in an inkjet printer, operating parameterssuch as the applied drying energy and/or the web tension of the recording medium during the drying of the recording mediumare set or adapted for or during the printing operation in order to reduce the undulation of the printed and dried recording medium.
Ink jet recording method and ink jet recording apparatus
Provided is an ink jet recording method including heating a recording medium, attaching an aqueous ink composition to the recording medium heated in the heating by ejecting the aqueous ink composition through a nozzle, the aqueous ink composition containing water, a solvent, and resin particles, and blowing wind to a surface of the recording medium in the attaching. The resin particles include particular resin particles that are dispersed in water after leaving a mixture liquid of the particular resin particles to stand for 2 hours at 40 C. and are not dispersed in water after leaving the mixture liquid to stand for 1 hour at 80 C., the mixture liquid containing a composition of the solvent contained in the aqueous ink composition and the particular resin particles as a solid resin component in a mass ratio of 1:1.
