PRINTING APPARATUS
A printing apparatus includes a liquid ejecting unit configured to eject liquid to a medium, a medium supporting unit configured to support the medium on a support face, a medium width detector configured to detect a width of the medium supported at the supporting face. Further, the printing apparatus includes a plurality of air blowing ports provided along a width direction (X-axis direction) of the medium for blowing air toward the medium supporting unit, an air blowing unit from which the air is blown, a heating unit configured to heat the medium supporting unit. Further, the printing apparatus includes a controlling unit configured to control a blowing amount from each of the plurality of air blowing ports according to the width of the medium detected by the medium width detector.
CURING APPARATUS
An apparatus, e.g. for curing a printing fluid, comprising an air treatment part, a curing part and an air circulation system. The air treatment part is to reduce the amount of a component comprised in air in the air treatment part and to supply treated air to a curing part. The curing part is to receive treated air from the air treatment part and to expose an item printed with a printing fluid comprising the component to the received treated air. The air circulation system is to cause the treated air to flow from the air treatment part into the curing part and to cause air from the curing part to flow into the air treatment part.
Heating device and drying method
A heating device configured to heat a medium on which a liquid for printing is impinged includes a heating element configured to face a processing surface, the processing surface being a surface on which the liquid is impinged, a blower configured to blow gas to a heating region between the heating element and the processing surface from the heating element side of the medium, and a control unit configured to control an output of the heating element and a driving amount of the blower. The control unit changes the driving amount of the blower in accordance with a type of the medium while maintaining the output of the heating element constant regardless of the type of the medium. The decrease in the drying efficiency of the medium is suppressed.
System for directly printing fibrous objects with solid ink images
A printer includes a spindle that rotates a fibrous object opposite a plurality of printheads while a forced air heater directs heated air toward the surface of the fibrous object. The plurality of printheads eject drops of solid ink onto the surface of the fibrous object to form a solid ink image on the fibrous object and the heated air affixes the solid ink image to the surface of the fibrous object without requiring pressure to affix the solid ink image to the fibrous object.
FIXING UNIT AND METHOD FOR FIXING A PRINT IMAGE ON A RECORDING MEDIUM
A fixer includes a fixing roller around which a recording medium is directed such that the print image to be fixed faces toward the shell surface of the fixing roller. A fixing gap is generated with a gaseous fixing medium between the shell surface of the fixing roller and the recording medium. This advantageously produces an efficient and gentle fixing of the print image.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image forming apparatus includes a housing, a sheet conveyor, a sheet stacker, and circuitry. The sheet conveyor is configured to convey a sheet on which liquid is applied. The sheet stacker is configured to stack the sheet conveyed by the sheet conveyor. The circuitry is configured to control conveyance of the sheet. The circuitry is configured to cause the sheet conveyor to expose the sheet on which the liquid is applied, to an outside of the housing, and convey the sheet to the sheet stacker.
INKJET PRINTING APPARATUS, INKJET PRINTING METHOD, AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING GLOSSINESS OF PRINT IMAGE
Inkjet printing apparatus including: ink accommodating unit storing ink; ejection head configured to eject the ink to form print layer; and heating unit configured to heat print target, wherein the ink is clear ink including resin and water, dry film of the clear ink has glass transition temperature of 50° C. or more, the inkjet printing apparatus has first printing mode and second printing mode, and the heating unit is configured to heat the print target so that expression: T.sub.matte>T.sub.gloss is satisfied, where the T.sub.matte is temperature (° C.) of the print target in printing region printed in the first printing mode obtained when the clear ink is deposited on the print target, and the T.sub.gloss is temperature (° C.) of the print target in printing region printed in the second printing mode obtained when the clear ink is deposited on the print target.
PRINTING APPARATUS AND HEATING DEVICE
A printing apparatus includes a printing unit configured to form an ink image by discharging ink on a medium, and a heating unit configured to heat the ink image on the medium. The heating unit includes a heat generating unit configured to generate radiant heat, a reflecting unit that includes a reflecting surface configured to reflect the radiant heat of the heat generating unit, and a cooling unit configured to cool the reflecting surface by supplying a gas to the reflecting surface.
HEATER POWER DELIVERY
In some examples, a system includes a first heater and a second heater, and a controller to receive a power request indicating a power level for the second heater, in response to the power request, select a power delivery technique from among different power delivery techniques that employ different ways of delivering power to the first and second heaters, and cause powering of the first and second heaters using the selected power delivery technique.
BLOWING DEVICE AND RECORDING DEVICE
A blowing device includes a housing including a blowing path, a fan, a first flow path member being fixed downstream of the fan, and including a first and a second air outlet that are arranged in a width direction, and a second flow path member being fixed downstream of the fan, and including a third and a fourth air outlet that are arranged in the width direction. The first and the second flow path member are fixed in a state of being arranged in the width direction, a fifth air outlet is formed between the first and the second flow path member that are fixed, and a part of an opening edge of the fifth air outlet is the first flow path member, and a part of the opening edge of the fifth air outlet is the second flow path member.
