A drying device includes a housing, a heater, a fan, and a processor. The housing includes an internal space housing a platen and an opening connected to the internal space and being of a size through which the platen passes. A medium to which an ink or a treatment liquid is applied is placed on the platen. The fan supplies heated air to the internal space. In a housed state of the platen housed in the internal space, the processor switches an air supply state of the heated air supplied by the fan from a first air supply state to a second air supply state different from the first air supply state by controlling at least one of the heater or the fan.
PRINTING APPARATUS AND PRINTING METHOD
A printing apparatus includes a dryer unit including an intake port, a heater unit to heat outside air taken in through the intake port, an air blower unit to perform an air blowing operation, a return port to allow an inflow of part of the heated outside air blown to the print sheet, and a temperature detector unit to detect a temperature inside the dryer unit. In the air blowing operation, the returned part of the heated outside air and the outside air flow into the air blower unit. A controller unit controls the air blowing operation or the output of the heater unit.

A printing device includes a carriage configured to move in a first direction along a first axis; a head configured to eject ink onto a medium; and an irradiation section that is provided alongside the head in the first direction and that is configured to irradiate ultraviolet light toward the medium, wherein the irradiation section has a cooling unit that cools the irradiation section by airflow, in a plan view facing the medium, the head is disposed in a first region of the carriage and the irradiation section is disposed in a second region of the carriage, and in the second region, at least one lid section is provided to block an airflow from a side in which the carriage faces the medium to the irradiation section.

Heated air heated by the heat exchanger is supplied into the heating device via at least one air supply port of the air supply ports. Non-heated air not heated by the heat exchanger is supplied into the heating device via at least one other air supply port of the air supply ports than the at least one air supply port.

A recording apparatus includes a conveying unit configured to convey a recording medium in a conveyance direction, a platen configured to support the recording medium conveyed by the conveying unit, a recording head configured to perform recording on the recording medium supported by the platen, a pressing unit configured to press the recording medium upstream of the platen in the conveyance direction, an air blowing unit configured to blow air toward a supported region of the recording medium, which is supported by the platen, from an upstream side in the conveyance direction, and a guide member configured to be fixed to the pressing unit, provide partitioning between a space facing a blown air outlet of the air blowing unit and the pressing unit, and guide the air blown by the air blowing unit.

A drying apparatus includes a drying furnace which a medium to be conveyed enters, a heater configured to heat the medium in the drying furnace, an exhaust section configured to exhaust air from the drying furnace, and a movable section configured to move, wherein an intake port through which air flows from an outside of the drying furnace into the drying furnace opens in the drying furnace, the exhaust section includes a duct extending from the drying furnace and a fan configured to exhaust the air from an inside of the drying furnace toward the outside of the drying furnace through the duct, and the movable section moves to thereby adjust at least one of an intake volume of the air inflowing through the intake port and an exhaust volume of the air discharged from the drying furnace.
Drying device, printing apparatus, and control method thereof
A drying device includes a conveying unit, a hot air blowing unit, a passage forming unit, and an adjusting unit. The conveying unit conveys a medium to which a liquid is discharged from a discharging head. The hot air blowing unit includes a blowing unit that blows air, and a heating unit that heats air. The passage forming unit forms, between the hot air blowing unit and a region on a conveying unit conveyance path, a circulation path through which air blown from the hot air blowing unit is circulated. The adjusting unit adjusts a ratio between inside air circulating through the circulation path and outside air that is introduced into the circulation path. If a temperature increase condition is established, the adjusting unit increases a ratio of the inside air. If a temperature decrease condition is established, the adjusting unit increases a ratio of the outside air.
