Signals controllers
In some examples, a system can include: a heating device, a Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) controller and a switching mechanism to selectively enable transmission of signals to the heating device based on a real time temperature in proximity to the heating device, wherein the PID controller is to continuously output pulse width modulation (PWM) signals independent of selective transmission of signals by the switching mechanism.
Image forming apparatus which heats recording medium at a higher temperature at a downstream position than an upstream position
An image forming apparatus includes a first liquid applier, a second liquid applier, a conveyor, and a heater. The first liquid applier applies liquid to a first side of a recording medium. The second liquid applier applies the liquid to a second side of the recording medium bearing the liquid applied to the first side by the first liquid applier. The conveyor conveys, in a conveyance direction, the recording medium bearing the liquid applied to the second side by the second liquid applier. The heater heats the recording medium conveyed by the conveyor. The conveyor conveys the recording medium in contact with the first side of the recording medium. The heater heats the recording medium at different temperatures between an upstream location and a downstream location in the conveyance direction of the recording medium.
Inkjet recording apparatus
An inkjet recording apparatus includes a printing portion configured to discharge ink on a sheet, a drying portion configured to blow warm air to the sheet to dry ink, a first rotary member is in contact with the first surface of the sheet, a heating portion configured to heat the first rotary member, a second rotary member configured to form a nip portion that apply heat and pressure to the sheet, a first detection unit configured to detect a temperature of the first rotary member, a second detection unit configured to detect a temperature of the second rotary member, a cooling unit configured to cool the second rotary member, and a control unit configured to execute a cooling mode of activating the cooling unit in a state where a temperature difference between the first rotary member and the second rotary member is smaller than a threshold.
Imaging system having heating area data for a recording medium
An imaging system includes a liquid discharge device, a heating device, and a cassette. In the imaging system, the cassette includes a holder to hold a recording medium and a storage device to store heating-area data indicating a heating area of the recording medium to be heated before an image is printed on the recording medium. Moreover, in the imaging system, the liquid discharge device includes a printing device to discharge liquid onto the recording medium held by the holder to print the image on the recording medium and a writing device to write liquid discharge region data to the storage device, the liquid discharge region data indicating a liquid discharge region of the recording medium onto which the liquid is discharged by the printing device. Further, in the imaging system, the heating device includes a heater to heat the heating area of the recording medium.
Printing apparatus
The printing apparatus includes a support part (platen) configured to support a recording medium (roll sheet), a printing part (printing unit) configured to form an image by discharging ink to a roll sheet supported on a platen while reciprocating in a main scanning direction, and a drying acceleration part configured to accelerate drying of the ink discharged by the printing unit and applied on the roll sheet in a state where the roll sheet is supported on the platen, in which a drying capacity of the drying acceleration part is higher in an end region of the platen than in a central region of the platen in a reciprocation direction of the printing unit.
Liquid applying apparatus
A liquid applying apparatus includes a liquid applier, a heating device, and a post-processing apparatus. The liquid applier is configured to discharge liquid to a sheet. The heating device is configured to heat the sheet on which the liquid is applied, by the liquid applier. The post-processing apparatus is configured to perform a post-processing operation to the sheet that has passed the heating device. An upstream sheet that is conveyed after the sheet and located upstream from the post-processing apparatus in a sheet conveyance direction stops in an area other than a heat area of the heating device when the post-processing apparatus performs the post-processing operation on the sheet.
Printing apparatus and method for controlling heating of sheet based on discharged ink amount
A printing apparatus includes a conveyance unit configured to convey a sheet, a printing unit configured to print an image by discharging ink to the sheet conveyed by the conveyance unit, a heating unit configured to heat the sheet conveyed by the conveyance unit and to which the image has been printed by the printing unit, and a control unit configured to, in a case of double-side printing in which after printing an image on a first side of the sheet, an image is printed on a second side of the sheet, based on an amount of ink discharged for the first side and an amount of ink discharged for the second side, control heating by the heating unit with respect to the second side.
Ink dryer
Ink dryers of the present technology include a heated platen configured to pivotally attach to a digital printer, and a controller that controls the temperature of the heated platen. The ink dryers may also include a current sensor that allows the controller to determine if whether the printer is active or asleep. The controller may turn on the heated platen when the printer is active, and turn off the heated platen when the printer is asleep.
Determining a parameter for curing images
In an example, a method of curing images on a substrate comprises identifying the substrate, determining a deformation temperature of the substrate based on the identifying, calculating a parameter for curing images on the substrate based on the deformation temperature and a thickness of the substrate using a fuzzy logic algorithm, and causing a printing apparatus to cure the images on the substrate based on the parameter.
SUPPORTING STRUCTURE FOR TEMPERATURE SENSOR AND DRYING DEVICE
A supporting structure for a temperature sensor, and a drying device provided with the supporting structure. The supporting structure includes a front panel, a rear panel, a first supporting member having both ends in a longer-side direction of the first supporting member, and a second supporting member attachable to and detachable from the first supporting member. In the supporting structure, both ends of the first supporting member are removably supported by the front panel and the rear panel. In the supporting structure, the temperature sensor is disposed on the second supporting member, and the temperature sensor detects a surface temperature of a heating roller disposed between the front panel and the rear panel.
