The invention relates to a sheet-fed printing press having a feeder, a delivery, and at least one sheet guiding cylinder, which is arranged between the feeder and the delivery, has a gripper system, and is assigned a digital printing system and a first sheet guiding system that removes sheets from the sheet guiding cylinder. The object of the invention is to devise a sheet-fed printing press that can be used in a more variable fashion, and with which a particularly wide spectrum of different products can be produced. According to the invention, the object is attained in that the first sheet guiding system (12) is configured for selectively transferring the sheets to a second sheet guiding system (8), which transfers the sheets to the sheet guiding cylinder (3), or for transferring said sheets to the delivery (11), wherein the second sheet guiding system (8) is configured as a perfecting system (8) and can be switched between an operating mode in which it feeds the sheets in a reversed position to the sheet guiding cylinder (3) and an operating mode in which it feeds the sheets in a non-reversed position to the sheet guiding cylinder.

Recording medium support device and image forming apparatus

A recording medium support device includes a recording medium support, a holder, and a support heater. The recording medium support supports a recording medium on which liquid is discharged. The holder holds the recording medium support, the holder including an air chamber and a duct. The support heater heats the recording medium support. A linear expansion coefficient of a bottom surface of the air chamber or a bottom surface of the duct away from the recording medium support is larger than a linear expansion coefficient of the recording medium support.

An image forming apparatus includes a rotational conveying unit for conveying a recording medium by rotating about a rotational axis. A head unit includes n nozzle rows in a conveying direction perpendicular to an axial direction parallel to the rotational axis. Each of the n nozzle rows includes nozzles aligned as a nozzle row in the axial direction. Each n nozzle row is arranged at a distance of d1 to d(n1) from a predetermined reference nozzle row. A circuit outputs a rotational amount detection signal, and a conveying amount detection signal, and generates a discharge synchronization signal based on the detected rotational amount detection signal and the detected conveying amount detection signal, then generates a nozzle row timing signal based on the distance of the d1 to d(n1) and the discharge synchronization signal, and generates discharge data based on the discharge synchronization signal and the nozzle row timing signal.

VACUUM TRANSPORT HAVING OPENING PATTERN ALLOWING JETTING OF ALL NOZZLES TO RECEPTACLE

A transport item moves in a process direction to transport sheets of media. The transport item is positioned between an inkjet printhead and a receptacle. The inkjet printhead has nozzles. The transport item has openings arranged in a pattern, the pattern of the openings is consistent along all of the transport item, and the pattern of the openings in the transport item aligns at least one opening with each of the locations of the nozzles as the transport item moves in the process direction. The nozzles eject ink through the openings to the receptacle when the nozzles are aligned with the openings. When controlling the nozzles to eject ink through the openings to the receptacle, a controller can control the nozzles to simultaneously eject ink on a sheet of media while ejecting ink through the openings to the receptacle.

SHEET-FED PRINTING PRESS

A sheet-fed printing press has a feeder, a deliverer and at least one sheet guiding cylinder which is arranged between the feeder and the deliverer. The sheet-fed printing press also is a gripper system and is assigned to a digital printing device. A first sheet guiding device receives sheets from the sheet guiding cylinder. The object of the sheet-fed printing press is to provide such a sheet-fed printing press which can be used in a relatively variable manner and by way of which, in particular, a relatively great spectrum of different products can be produced. This object is accomplished by virtue of the fact that the first sheet guiding device is configured for the selective transfer of the sheet to a second sheet guiding device, which transfers the sheets to the sheet guiding cylinder, or for the transfer to the deliverer. The second sheet guiding device is configured as a turner device and can switched over between an operating mode, in which it turns the sheets, and an operating mode, in which it feeds the sheets, in a non-turned state, to the sheet guiding cylinder.
