The ink-receiving layer contains an inorganic particle, a water-insoluble resin and at least one additive selected from the group consisting of a benzotriazole ultraviolet absorber and a hindered amine photostabilizer. The average pore radius of the inorganic particle is 5.0 nm or less.
RECORDING MEDIUM
A recording medium including a substrate and an ink-receiving layer. The ink-receiving layer contains an inorganic particle, a binder and at least one surfactant. The binder contains at least one resin selected from the group consisting of an acrylic resin, a polycarbonate-modified urethane resin and a polyether-modified urethane resin. The at least one surfactant comprises an acetylene-based surfactant. The contact angle of water to a surface of the ink-receiving layer at 60 seconds after contact of the water with the surface of the ink-receiving layer is 40 degrees or more to 80 degrees or less.
DIRECT PRINTABLE RIGID SUBSTRATE FOR INKJET PRINTING
A method of fixing an artwork on a surface of a rigid substrate includes providing an ink receptive layer comprised of a dispersing pigment in a binder selected from the group consisting of: PVOH, EVA, PUD, latex polymer, and combinations of these, applying the ink receptive layer to the surface of the rigid substrate, drying the ink receptive layer, and printing the artwork onto the ink receptive layer by inkjet.
FABRIC PRINTABLE MEDIUM
A fabric printable medium, with an image-side and a back-side, including a fabric base substrate; a primary layer containing polymeric binders applied on, at least, one side of the base substrate; and an image-receiving coating layer applied over, at least, one primary layer including a first and a second crosslinked polymeric network. The primary layer includes a flame-retardant dispersion including flame-retardant agents and polymeric dispersants. Also disclosed are the method for making such fabric printable medium and the method for producing printed images using said material.
Image transfer on a colored base
An image transfer article can include an image-imparting member and a removable substrate disposed adjacent to the image-imparting member. The image-imparting member can have a softening point temperature less than about 220° C. The image-imparting member can include at least one surface configured to receive and carry indicia to be transferred and at least one portion comprising a pigment providing an opaque background for received indicia. In some examples, the image-imparting member can comprise a first polymer including the indicia and at least a second polymer including the pigment. In some examples, the image-imparting member can comprise a polymer including the indicia and the pigment. The indicia and the opaque background can be arranged to concurrently transfer to a woven- or fabric-based article or paper in contact with the image-imparting member, upon application of iron pressing temperatures.
Inkjet recording sheet, method for manufacturing inkjet recording sheet, printed article, method for manufacturing printed article, and ornamental glass
Provided is an inkjet recording sheet which includes a transparent support and an ink receiving layer disposed on one surface of the transparent support, in which the ink receiving layer is a layer formed by curing a composition containing at least a polymerization initiator and a polymerizable compound. When a printed article and ornamental glass are manufactured by forming an image portion by an inkjet method, the inkjet recording sheet is excellent in both the ink adhesiveness and the scratch resistance of the ink receiving layer including the image portion and a non-image portion. Also provided is a method for manufacturing an inkjet recording sheet, a printed article, a method for manufacturing a printed article, and ornamental glass.
Water-Based Coatings for Improved Print Performance with Multiple Print Technology
Various aqueous coating formulations are described. The compositions include one or more UV curable polyurethane dispersions, and optionally one or more of the following: non-UV curable acrylic polymers, a polyester dispersion, a non-UV curable polyurethane dispersion, and one or more additives. The compositions can be used to form top coats that exhibit good resistance to scratches and solvents, and improved ink adhesion and image quality.
METHOD FOR VARNISHING SUBSTRATES, AND VARNISHED SUBSTRATES
A method of producing a printed product, wherein a formulation for production of a first layer as sealing layer is applied to the substrate and the formulation has at least one monomer, oligomer or prepolymer having at least one crosslinkable functional group. Subsequently, the first layer is cured and a second layer is applied at least to regions of the first layer, wherein the second layer has a coherent surface in the printed regions. Further, a printed product having a substrate, a first layer and a second layer, wherein the first layer and the second layer comprise an organic crosslinked lacquer and have a coherent surface, and wherein the first layer is transparent and has a layer thickness in the range from 1 to 10 μm. The second layer has been applied at least to regions of the first layer, such that the first layer is disposed between the substrate and the second layer.
