The present disclosure relates to a micro-optic device for producing a magnified image, including: a first unitary structure on one side of a substrate, the first unitary structure including a first group of focusing elements and a first group of imagery elements, wherein one of the first group of focusing elements and the first group of imagery elements is recessed with respect to the other, wherein the device further includes at least a first coating of ink overprinted on the first unitary structure, to at least partially fill the recessed group of elements, and wherein a property of the ink provides a visual contrast in the magnified image.

IDENTIFICATION DOCUMENTS WITH RADIATION CURABLE MATERIAL AND RELATED METHODS

Systems and methods wherein one or more processing operations on an identification document occur after a radiation curable material is applied to a surface of the identification document but before the radiation curable material is fully cured. The one or more processing operations can occur before any curing of the radiation curable material takes place. Alternatively, the one or more processing operations can occur after the radiation curable material has been partially cured, and before the radiation curable material is fully or completely cured.

Use of luminescent nanosystems for authenticating security documents

The present invention relates to the use of nanosystems as non deactivable security markers comprising metal atomic quantum clusters (AQCs) of at least two different size distributions encapsulated in a cavity with an inner diameter less than or equal to approximately 10 nm. These nanosystems are luminescence, particularly fluorescence after external excitation. The invention also relates to security documents, articles or elements incorporating these markers as well as to a method and a system for detecting the same.

Multiplex suspension assay/array using lifetime coding
09816926 · 2017-11-14 · ·

A system, device and/or method for multiplex assays. In a particular, but non-limiting, example there is provided a multiplex array, such as a suspension array. Luminescence decay lifetimes are utilized for probes in a suspension array, and coding/decoding the codes from time-resolved spectra. Lifetime populations can be generated at distinct color bands. A novel temporal technique or dimension is applied over conventional spectral and intensity combinations, thereby expanding the multiplexing capacity of a suspension array. In one example form, the multiplexing capacity of a suspension array can be expanded to the order of about 5.sup.8. This provides a reliable, high-throughput and relatively inexpensive solution for multiplex assays in various areas of application such as life sciences, data storage and security.
