Method for changing an edge of a portable card-shaped data carrier
A method for changing a geometry of an edge of a portable data carrier, wherein the geometry of the edge is changed in order to work on the edge and the outer side of the data carrier proceeding from a common side, without a spatial location of the data carrier being changed.
Method for producing color secure identification document and color secure identification document thereof
The disclosure relates to the technical field of secure identification document, specifically to a method for producing a color secure identification document and a color secure identification document thereof. The method comprises: etching identity information on the substrate of the data surface of document by laser, and the identity information comprises a black-and-white image and text information; printing a color image on the black-and-white image with color ink so that the color image and the black-and-white image are aligned and coincide with each other to form a personalized data surface; and printing a transparent protective layer on the upper surface of the personalized data surface with a transparent varnish, wherein the protective layer covers the color image.

BENDING SYSTEM, ENGRAVE SYSTEM AND VALUE DOCUMENT MANUFACTURING DEVICE
A bending system for separating a page from a cover of a value document, wherein the page is connected to a spine of the cover, the spine separating the cover in first and second cover potions, wherein an angle γ is formed between the first and second cover portions. The bending system includes a bending unit connected to a motor, wherein the motor is configured to operate the bending unit such that the bending unit bends the value document to a first state, where γ is larger than 180°, and then back to a second state, where γ is at least 180° but less than γ in the first state, to separate the page from the cover. Also disclosed is an engraving system for engraving a front side and backside of a page of the value document and a document manufacturing device including the bending system and engraving system.

Watermark and other security features for thermoplastic security documents
Micro-structures are formed within multilayer laminate security documents by embossing and/or debossing one or more thermoplastic layers prior to lamination of the layers. The embossed and/or debossed structures are arranged and/or formed in a way that creates a number of different security features, including a watermark formed by a relief micro-structure pattern on an opaque film (layer), a multi-color optically variable device, a 3-dimensional feature over kinegram/metallic ink and/or embossment/debossment over printed surfaces.

LASER TEXTURED IDENTIFICATION DOCUMENT SURFACES
Security features used on identification documents such as plastic cards and passport pages are described. The security features include a textured portion that is formed on a portion of the surface of the identification document using a laser. The security features can also include a printed portion and/or a laser marked portion. The printed portion (if present) can be formed above or beneath the textured portion. The laser marked portion (if present) is formed within the thickness of the identification document below the textured portion. The textured portion and the printed portion and/or the laser marked portion can be in congruence with one another to form the security feature.
