A composite rim is used in spoked wheels, such as bicycle wheels. The composite rims has molded-in spoke holes. The composite rim is manufactured using a unique fabricating technique. The construction of the composite rim dramatically improves the bearing and loading strength of the composite rim over prior composite rims, which drill the spoke holes therein after fabrication of the rim hoop.

The wheel has a plurality of spokes coupled with the rim and a spoke attachment element partially inserted in a respective spoke attachment hole. The present invention discloses an opening-prefabricated carbon fiber spoke and a method for preparing thereof. The opening-prefabricated carbon fiber spoke includes: a spoke body made of carbon fiber, a nipple, and a nipple head. Both ends of the spoke body are a first fixed connector and a second fixed connector. The nipple is sleeved on the second fixed connector of the spoke body. A forked part of the second fixed connector is provided with a wedge pin. According to the present invention, a slope is formed at both ends of the spoke body, and the two ends are increasingly tight under an action of a pulling force, which greatly improves a tensile strength.

The wheel includes a nipple within the rim that receives the high strength spoke and allows for flexibility in adapting the spoke to wheels having differing shapes and sizes.
