Axle assembly with outboard axle bearings
An axle assembly having an axle housing, a wheel end cover and an axle shaft. The axle housing has a tubular member with an end flange coupled thereto. A pair of axle bearings are mounted to the axle shaft and the end flange and support the axle shaft for rotation relative to the axle housing. The wheel end cover is mounted to the end flange and carries a seal that is engaged to the axle shaft. A method for assembling an axle assembly is also provided.
Axle Assembly Having a Wet Disc Brake
An axle assembly having a planetary gear set and an internal brake assembly. The brake assembly may have a piston that may be disposed between a disc pack and the planetary gear set. Rotation of a sun gear of the planetary gear set may be inhibited when the piston urges the disc pack against a flange of an axle housing.
Axle Assembly Having a Bearing Preload Bolt
An axle assembly having a preload bolt. The preload bolt may couple an output flange that may be supported by a roller bearing assembly to a planet carrier. A preload force may be exerted on the roller bearing assembly when the preload bolt is tightened to the planet carrier.
Axle Assembly Having a Ballast Insert Assembly and a Method of Control
An axle assembly having a ballast insert assembly and a method of control. The ballast insert assembly may have an inflatable bladder that may be disposed in a cavity. The volume of lubricant in the cavity may be greater when the inflatable bladder is deflated than when the inflatable bladder is inflated.
AXLE ASSEMBLY FOR DRIVE DEVICE OF A MOTOR VEHICLE
An axle assembly for a drive device for the road wheels of a vehicle includes: a stationary housing having a housing interior at least partially filled with a lubricating liquid; axle housings connected to the stationary housing and configured to permit axles of the vehicle to pass towards the road wheels; a venting bore in one of the axle housings configured to allow pressurized air to escape from the stationary housing; and at least one rib sized and positioned in the housing interior of the stationary housing so as to prevent migration of the lubricating liquid out of the venting bore.
Bogie Axle Assembly
A bogie axle assembly having a housing, a spindle, a drive sprocket unit, and a planetary gear set. The drive sprocket unit may be fixedly disposed on a planet gear carrier of the planetary gear set. The spindle may be fixedly disposed on the housing. The drive sprocket unit may be rotatably supported by at least one roller bearing assembly that may be disposed between the spindle and the drive sprocket unit.
Bogie Axle System
A bogie axle system having an axle housing, a planetary gear set, a chain housing, and a slew bearing assembly. The axle housing may at least partially receive planetary gear set. The chain housing may receive a drive sprocket unit. The slew bearing assembly may pivotally couple the chain housing to the axle housing.
Axle Assembly Having an Adjuster Ring
An axle assembly having a bearing support, a roller bearing assembly, an adjuster ring, and a locking fastener. The adjuster ring and the roller bearing assembly may be disposed on and may receive a bearing journal of the bearing support. The locking fastener may inhibit rotation of the adjuster ring.
Steerable wheel side of a drive axle
The wheel side of a drive axle with wheel member steering having a drop center rim, preferably made of steel, is provided on the wheel hub and is combined with a disc brake, which is axially inwardly offset relative to the wheel plane and which preferably has compressed an actuation. The necessary space for the disc brake arrangement is guaranteed by the sufficiently low diameter of the wheel hub in the region of the brake disc and by a comparatively large axial space for the brake system, which is created by an axially narrow design of the wheel hub transmission and a by a new design of the steering knuckle bearing and of the pertaining axle guard.
Traveling drive device for dump truck
A traveling drive device for a dump truck is provided with an axle housing mounted to a vehicle body, a wheel mounting tube rotatably provided on the outer periphery side of the axle housing, a disk holding cylinder provided on the axial outside of the wheel mounting tube, a brake disk mounted to the disk holding cylinder, and a brake device for applying braking to the brake disk. The disk holding cylinder is configured by a cylindrical body to be mounted to the wheel mounting tube and a plurality of disk mounting legs provided on the cylindrical body. A plurality of U-shaped projections are provided on the outer periphery side of the brake disk at positions corresponding to the respective disk mounting legs. A recessed groove which fits on the disk mounting leg so as to hold a distal end thereof is provided in each of the U-shaped projections.
