A wheel for a vehicle (e.g., a construction vehicle, an all-terrain vehicle, or other off-road vehicle) or other device, in which the wheel comprises a non-pneumatic tire and may be designed to enhance its use and performance and/or use and performance of the vehicle or other device, including, for example, to be able to be used longer and/or in more challenging conditions, such as, for instance, by being more thermally efficient (e.g., to avoid or reduce adverse effects such as rapid degradation in material properties that could otherwise arise due to excessive temperatures) and/or more resistant to cracking or other damage which could lead to premature failure (e.g., due to manufacturing artifacts and/or rocks and other hazards that can cut, chip, or tear it during use).

SHEAR BAND
A shear band for a tire includes a first belt layer extending circumferentially around the tire, a second belt layer extending circumferentially around the tire, and a shear band radially interposed between the first belt layer and the second belt layer. The shear band includes a first reinforcing ply radially adjacent the first belt layer, a third reinforcing ply radially adjacent the second belt layer, and a second reinforcing ply radially interposed between the first reinforcing ply and the second reinforcing ply. The first reinforcing ply includes a first flattened, braided tube layer enclosed by a first rubber layer. The second reinforcing ply includes a second flattened, braided tube layer enclosed by a second rubber layer. The third reinforcing ply includes a third flattened, braided tube layer enclosed by a third rubber layer.
NON-PNEUMATIC TIRE SPOKE WITH IMPPROVED ELASTOMERIC JOINT BODY
An improved spoke (100) for a tire (10) attaching an outer tread to a hub (12), the spoke (100) having a spoke element possessing spoke element reinforcements, the spoke element joined by a joint body (114) comprised of an elastomer connecting the spoke element to an outer compliant band (200) where the joint body (114) possesses an improved profile for increased robustness.

Variable compliance metallic wheel comprising torque measuring device
A variable compliance non-pneumatic wheel which comprises a stationary tubular body (32) attached to the vehicle chassis. A tubular member is freely rotatable relative to the stationary tubular body and has a series of peripheral mounting rods (12, 13) on sides of the wheel. A plurality of interconnected and freely rotating caterpillar-like tiles (5), which are in contact with the ground during wheel operation, are coupled to the outer periphery of the wheel. A plurality of connecting spring members, (3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11), each connecting a specific mounting rod on a side of the hub (1, 2) are configured to connect the tiles (5) to the hub. The tubular member is split in two parts (1, 2) which are each free to rotate relative to one another. Each part carries approximately half number of mounting rods and connecting springs on a respective side of the wheel.

Non-pneumatic wheel having nylon spoke
A non-pneumatic wheel includes an outer band, a hub and a plurality of spokes formed from a polyamine material. Each of the plurality of spokes is displaced to create pretension in the radial direction under a design load and the displacement is equal to or greater than the predetermined deflection of the outer band. The plurality of spokes is made from a polyamide material having a conditioned tensile modulus between 600 MPa and 3000 MPa, an equilibrium moisture content of no more than 1.5%, and a fatigue failure resistance that can withstand at least 1 million cycles.

The spoke ring structure has a plurality of spoke members, and an outer tread ring is mounted on the outer circumference of the spoke ring.

Non-pneumatic wheel (1) with an annular reinforcing structure (10) produced from at least one elastomer compound, arranged radially on the inside of a tread (7), the structure (10) having a plurality of reinforcing strips (12, 14) arranged in layers, the strips (12, 14) of each of the layers being arranged in juxtaposition in a substantially circumferential direction, the strips being coated with an elastomer composition (13), the structure (10) made of at least three layers of strips (12, 14), wherein the strips are formed of a laminate of at least two composite layers, each composite layer has fibres coated in a polymer matrix, the fibres making an angle α with the circumferential direction, the difference in values of the said angles from one layer to the next being approximately 90°.
