Provided is a pneumatic tire including a belt layer. When the tread region indicates a region corresponding to a belt width of the belt layer and the side region indicates a region inward of a tire radial direction with respect to a tire maximum width position, the carcass cords forming the carcass layer are inclined with respect to the tire radial direction in the tread region, and at the same time, extend along the tire radial direction in the side region. The carcass cords forming the carcass layer and belt cords forming the belt layer cross with each other in the tread region.

Provided is a pneumatic tire. Both terminals of a carcass layer are overlapped with each other in a tread region. The carcass layer has a triple layer structure including an inner layer positioned most inward in a tire radial direction in the tread region, an outer layer positioned most outward in the tire radial direction in the tread region, and an intermediate layer positioned between the inner layer and the outer layer in the tread region. A cord angle in the carcass layer in a tread central region with respect to a tire circumferential direction differs in at least one of the inner layer, the outer layer, and the intermediate layer from a cord angle in the carcass layer in a side region with respect to the tire circumferential direction.

In a tire 2, a band 12 is disposed between a tread 4 and a carcass 10 in a radial direction, and is layered over the carcass 10. A first carcass ply 30 of the carcass 10 has a main portion 30a and turned-up portions 30b. A second carcass ply 32 of the carcass 10 is disposed outward of the main portion 30a of the first carcass ply 30 in the radial direction, and is extended on and between one of the beads 8 and the other of the beads 8. Ends P2 of the second carcass ply 32 are disposed between the beads 8 and the turned-up portions 30b, respectively, on outer side in the axial direction. Ends P1 of the turned-up portions 30b are disposed between the main portion 30a and the band 12. The turned-up portions 30b and the band 12 are layered over each other.

Tire comprising cables for reinforcing the carcass having low perviousness, and textile threads associated with the carcass reinforcement

A tire having a radial carcass reinforcement, composed of at least one layer of metal reinforcing elements, the said tire comprising a crown reinforcement, itself topped radially by a tread, the said tread being joined to two beads via two sidewalls. The metal reinforcing elements of at least one layer of the carcass reinforcement are cords exhibiting, in the permeability test, a flow rate of less than 20 cm.sup.3/min and at least one layer of the carcass reinforcement is provided, on at least one face, with textile threads exhibiting, in the permeability test, a flow rate of between 1 and 3 cm.sup.3/min.

A pneumatic tire has carcass layers mounted between a pair of bead parts, the carcass layers being wound from the inner side of the tire to the outer side thereof about a bead core of each bead part. Protective layers including organic fiber cords are positioned in sidewall parts on the outer side of the carcass layers. The upper end parts of the protective layers are positioned along the carcass layers from outer end locations of the belt layers, between a location 20 mm toward the inner side in the tire width direction and a location 15 mm toward the outer side in the tire width direction. The lower end parts of the protective layers are positioned between main body portions of the carcass layers and the bead filler.
