A passenger vehicle tire having rolling resistance without negatively affecting the grip and behaviour. The tread (2) has a radial height H.sub.S between 5 mm and 8 mm, a volumetric void ratio T.sub.EV between 22% and 30%, a total volume V.sub.CP of the main voids (241) at least equal to 80% of the total volume V.sub.C of the voids (24), and comprises an elastomeric compound having a glass transition temperature T.sub.g between 22° C. and 5° C., a Shore A hardness between 45 and 65, and a dynamic loss tgδ at 23° C. at least equal to 0.13 and at most equal to 0.39. The metal reinforcers of the working layers (41, 42) are steel monofilaments having a cross section S with a smallest dimension Dmin between 0.20 mm and 0.50 mm. The monofilaments distributed at a density d.sub.T between 100 threads/dm 200 threads/dm, each working layer (41, 42) having a mean radial thickness E.sub.T between D+0.1 mm and D+0.6 mm.

In a pneumatic tire according to an embodiment, a belt layer is configured such that the angle of a belt cord relative to the tire circumferential direction is more than 30° and 40° or less. An organic fiber cord of a belt-reinforcing layer, which is placed on the radially outer side of the belt layer, is configured such that when the number of twists per 10 cm length is T (twists/10 cm), the fineness is D (dtex), and the fiber density is ρ (g/cm.sup.3), the twist coefficient K defined as T×(D/ρ).sup.1/2 is 900 to 2,600, and the product of the load at 5% elongation LASE 5% (N) of the organic fiber cord and the end count E (cords/25 mm) of the organic fiber cord is 1,000 N or more.

PNEUMATIC TIRE WITH OPTIMIZED CROWN AND BEAD ARCHITECTURES

The invention is a tyre comprising, in the central part of its crown, at least one undulation (51) of the radially outermost crown layer, having a radial amplitude A at least equal to 1 mm. At least one bead comprises, aside from the radial carcass layer and the bead wire, a radial reinforcing element that is such that the axial distance between the radial reinforcing element and the axially innermost carcass layer is at least equal to 1 mm and at most equal to 12 mm at the point of the radial reinforcing element that is situated 30 mm from the radially innermost point of the bead wire, for a better trade-off between the stiffness of the undulating crown and of the bead.

TRUCK TIRE

A pneumatic tire for use on trucks, the tire comprising: a tread which includes a belt reinforcement structure, the belt structure including a pair of working belts, wherein the angle of the working belts range from about 10 degrees to about 50 degrees, and wherein the first working belt has an angle of the reinforcements different that the angle of the belt reinforcements of the second working belt. The belt package further includes a low angle belt that is preferably positioned between of the working belts, wherein the angle of the low angle belt is less than 5 degrees. The working belts and the low angle belt are extensible, and preferably made of high elongation wire. The pneumatic tire further includes a wherein the tread is formed of a treadcap compound having a tensile at break greater than 18 MPa, and an elongation at break greater than 450%.

TRUCK TIRE

A pneumatic tire for use on trucks, the tire comprising: a tread which includes a belt reinforcement structure, the belt structure including a pair of working belts, wherein the angle of the working belts range from about 10 degrees to about 50 degrees, and wherein the first working belt has an angle of the reinforcements different that the angle of the belt reinforcements of the second working belt. The belt package further includes a low angle belt that is preferably positioned between of the working belts. The pneumatic tire further includes a tread having a groove reinforced with a tread compound having a tensile at break greater than 18 MPa, and an elongation at break greater than 450%.

TIRE WITH WORKING LAYERS COMPRISING AN OPTIMIZED ARCHITECTURE AND TREAD DESIGN

A tire comprises, in the central part of its crown, at least one undulation (51) with a radial amplitude A of the radially outermost crown layer, circumferential furrows (24) and open grooves (25), some of these grooves being radially on the outside of the undulation (51). At least 50% of these grooves (25) are said to be adapted to the undulation. An open groove adapted to the undulation which it is radially on the outside of is such that the intersection points Ps of the bottom curve Cf of said groove and of the furrows (24) are at a distance from the radially outermost point Pext of said bottom curve Cf by a radial distance d2 at least equal to one third of the radial amplitude (A/3) of the undulation (51) and such that the curve Cf increases radially from the intersection points Ps to the point Pext.

A motorcycle tire comprises a carcass and a tread reinforcing layer disposed radially outside the carcass. The tread reinforcing layer includes a belt layer and a band layer. The belt layer is compose of a radially inner belt ply of belt cords arranged at a first angle, and a radially outer belt ply of belt cords arranged at a second angle different from the first angle, each with respect to the tire circumferential direction. The band layer is composed of at least one band ply, and disposed between the radially inner belt ply and the radially outer belt ply, adjacently to both of the radially inner and belt plies.

A run-flat tire includes reinforcing rubber in a sidewall, first bead filler rubber disposed toward the inside of a folded back portion of a carcass layer in a lateral direction, and second bead filler rubber disposed toward the outside of the folded back portion in the lateral direction. The reinforcing rubber has a thickness from a rim base line to a position within 38% to 68% of a tire cross-sectional height being from 90% to 100% of a maximum thickness of the reinforcing rubber. In a range from a position of a rim check line to a position being 38% of the tire cross-sectional height from the rim base line, a total thickness of the reinforcing rubber, the first bead filler rubber, and the second bead filler rubber is from 100% to 140% of the maximum thickness of the reinforcing rubber.
