A pneumatic tire comprises a tread portion provided with a band layer disposed radially inside a tread rubber provided with a first circumferential groove. Cords of the band layer are a hybrid cord formed by twisting together a first filament and a second filament having an elastic modulus lower than that of the first filament. In a region radially inside the first circumferential groove, a maximum thickness t1 of topping rubber on the radially outer side of the band cords is not more than 1.0 mm; a minimum distance d1 from the bottom of the first circumferential groove to the radially outer surface of the band layer is not more than 2.0 mm; and a distance d2 from a groove edge of the first circumferential groove to the radially outer surface of the band layer is not more than 15.0 mm.

A pneumatic tire comprises a carcass layer, a belt layer radially outward of the carcass layer, and a tread rubber radially outward of the belt layer. A belt cord angle of a belt layer large angle belt is 45-70, opposite sign belt cord angles of cross belts are 10-45, and a reinforcing layer belt cord angle is within 5 of a circumferential direction. A reinforcing layer width Ws and a carcass cross-sectional width Wca satisfy 0.60Ws/Wca0.70. The reinforcing layer is radially outward of the cross belts which are radially outward of the large angle belt. A wider cross belt width Wb2 of the pair and Wca satisfy 0.79Wb2/Wca0.89. Wb2 and Wca satisfy 0.79Wb2/Wca0.89. Relationships 0.79Wb2/Wca0.84 and either 0.82TW/Wca0.92 or 0.79TW/SW0.89 are satisfied, where TW is a tread width and SW is a total tire width.

A pneumatic tire comprises a carcass layer, a belt layer radially outward of the carcass layer, and a tread rubber radially outward of the belt layer. The belt layer is formed by laminating a large angle belt having a belt-cord angle of 45-70, a pair of cross belts having belt cord angles of 10-45 with opposite sign belt cord angles, and a reinforcing layer having a belt cord angle satisfying 5 relative to a circumferential direction. A reinforcing layer width Ws and a carcass cross-sectional width Wca satisfy 0.60Ws/Wca0.70. A wider cross belt width Wb2 of the pair of cross belts and the carcass width Wca satisfy 0.79Wb2/Wca0.89. In a pneumatic tire provided with a carcass layer and a belt layer, the carcass layer is formed of an organic fiber cord having an elongation at break of 20% to 30%, an elongation in a sidewall portion under a load of 2.0 cN/dtex of 5.5% to 8.0%, and a product A=DEc of a fineness based on corrected mass D (unit: dtex/piece) and a count Ec (unit: piece/50 mm) of 1.810.sup.5 dtex/50 mm to 3.010.sup.5 dtex/50 mm, and the belt layer is formed of a steel cord having a stress at break of 3300 MPa or more and a product B=SEb of a cross-sectional area S (unit: mm.sup.2/piece), and a count Eb (unit: piece/50 mm) is from 6.0 mm.sup.2/50 mm to 7.5 mm.sup.2/50 mm.
