A tire includes having a tread portion that has three land portions defined by two crown main grooves that continuously extend in a tire circumferential direction and that are arranged across a tire equator. The three land portions include two shoulder land portions. At least one of the shoulder land portions includes a plurality of main inclined grooves that extend so as to be inclined. At least one of the main inclined grooves has an inner end and an outer end. The main inclined groove has a steeply-inclined portion that extends so as to be inclined from the inner end toward a tread end, and a gently-inclined portion that extends across the tread end from the outer end at an angle, relative to an tire axial direction, which is less than an angle of the steeply-inclined portion relative thereto. A length of the steeply-inclined portion is greater than a length of the gently-inclined portion.

AVERAGE VOID DEPTH TRUCK TIRE WITH ANGLED RIBS HAVING DECOUPLED SHOULDER BLOCKS

A heavy truck tire tread with a rib (18) located between first (14) and second (16) tread grooves. A shoulder block (30) is adjacent the rib and at a shoulder edge of the tread, and a decouple groove (32) is present that decouples the shoulder block from the rib. The decouple groove is spaced from and free from engagement with the shoulder edge, and extends at least twice as long in the longitudinal direction than in the lateral direction. The width of the decouple groove is less than widths of the first and second tread grooves. The tread has an average void depth that does not go past a twenty percent line, where the twenty percent line is twenty percent of a full void depth located from an outer surface of the tread, and where the average void depth does not include decouple grooves and tread outboard from the decouple grooves.

Tyre

A tyre includes a tread portion including a tread surface which is provided with grooves. At least one of the grooves includes a widening-width portion at least partially. The widening-width portion includes a first groove portion extending inwardly in a tyre radial direction from the tread surface, and a second groove portion located inwardly in the tyre radial direction of the first groove portion and having a groove width greater than that of the first groove portion.

Tire

A tire includes an outboard tread edge and an inboard tread edge to be located on an outboard side and an inboard side of a vehicle, respectively, circumferentially and continuously extending main grooves, and land portions divided by the main grooves. The land portions include an outboard shoulder land portion, an outboard middle land portion, an inboard shoulder land portion, and an inboard middle land portion. Each of the outboard shoulder land portion, the inboard shoulder land portion, and the inboard middle land portion is provided with axially extending lateral grooves. The outboard middle land portion is provided with outboard middle lateral grooves extending from an edge of the outboard middle land portion on the outboard tread edge side toward the inboard tread edge. The outboard middle lateral grooves are inclined with respect to a tire circumferential direction at angles smaller than those of the lateral grooves.

Motorcycle tyre and pair of motorcycle tyres

A motorcycle tyre has a tread band including a central portion and two shoulder portions arranged at axially opposite sides of the central portion. The central portion includes a first plurality of grooves extended according to a substantially longitudinal direction and alternatively arranged at opposite sides of the equatorial plane of the tyre. Each groove of the first plurality of grooves has a substantially curvilinear course such as to form a concavity. The central portion further includes a sub-portion substantially free of grooves placed astride the equatorial plane of the tyre. Each of the shoulder portions includes a second plurality of grooves arranged obliquely relative to the equatorial plane of the tyre.

In a pneumatic tire, a center land portion includes center lug grooves and center blocks. The center lug grooves penetrate the center land portion. The center blocks are defined by the center lug grooves. A middle land portion includes middle lug grooves, middle blocks, a notch portion, and a middle sipe. The middle lug grooves penetrate the middle land portion. The middle blocks are defined by the middle lug grooves. The notch portion is an edge portion on the center main groove side of each of the middle blocks and formed on an extension line of each of the center lug grooves. The middle sipe extends from the notch portion and opens to an edge portion on the shoulder main groove side of each of the middle blocks.

Tire

A tire comprises a tread portion 2. The tread portion 2 comprises a plurality of oblique grooves 10 extending obliquely from a first tread edge Te1 positioned on one side in a tire axial direction toward a tire equator C, and a plurality of oblique land regions 13 each defined between a pair of the oblique grooves 10 adjacent to each other in a tire circumferential direction. Each of the oblique land regions 13 is provided with a plurality of joint grooves 15 each connecting between the pair of the oblique grooves 10.

A method for arranging stud pins in a pneumatic tire is a method for arranging stud pins in a tread portion at intervals in a tire width direction so as to form a plurality of rows. This method includes specifying an inner region, an intermediate region, and an outer region by virtually partitioning the tread portion into equal three parts from a center line extending in a tire circumferential direction to a ground contact end in the tire width direction outward. The method also includes arranging the stud pins such that among numbers of stud pins per row in the inner region, the intermediate region, and the outer region, the number in the outer region is the largest, the number in the intermediate region is the second largest, the number in intermediate region is the smallest.
